The natural linen ground embroidered in wool, silk and cotton with large flowerheads and foliage in a broad band around the plain mihrab; narrow trailing floral outer border; edges bound in red cotton. £80-120 (+18% BP*)

3. Three suzanis by the Uzbeks of Afghanistan, second half 20th century, comprising a long tent hanging, 135in. x 43in. 343cm. x 109cm. The brown cotton ground embroidered in vibrant silks and cotton; a brown cotton ground suzani, 80in. x 60in. 203cm. x 152cm. similarly embroidered and a purple silk suzani, 87in. x 65in. 223cm. x 165cm. embroidered in bright colours with floral sprays. Lot 2 (detail) 2. Attractive Uzbek silk ikat panel, Uzbekistan, probably early 20th century, mounted on a wooden frame, 86in. x 11in. 219cm. x 28cm. Three panels joined together. The soft pink ground with pale yellow and ivory tulip forms and foliage. £150-250 (+18% BP*)

4. Tekke Turkmen chyrpy, Turkmenistan, first half 20th century, dark blue/black ground heavily embroidered in the traditional manner in reds, yellows and ivory featuring rows of tulips and foliage, fringing to the hem; unlined. Together with another Tekke Turkmen chyrpy, black cotton ground lightly embroidered with flowers and hooked motifs to the collar, front facings, sleeves and cuffs, lined with floral printed cotton. Lot 6 6. Fine Tekke Turkmen chyrpy, Turk­ menistan, late 19th century. Dark blue/black silk ground exquisitely embroidered in the traditional manner in reds, yellows and ivory featuring elegant tulips and ivory hooked medallions with tiny stepped medallion centres; long fringing to the hem and straps at the back which are lined with red floral printed cotton as are the front facings and collar. £250-350 (+18% BP*)

Group of seven textiles comprising Uzbek circular mat, a green silk panel, and a red felted square all embroidered in a bright palette with flowers and foliage; two small warp-faced tent band fragments, a blue silk Chinese pictorial panel, embroidered in bright silks depicting a parade with two elephants and horse and rider; figures including musicians, some with flags, 29in. x 40in. 74cm. x 102 cm. 11. Long Fulani blanket, Mali, west Africa, mid-20th century, 14ft. 9in. x 4ft. 4in. 4.50m. x 1.32m. Few surface marks; holes in places; seams adrift in some places. Narrow widths joined together. Mostly blue and white squares, some worked with flowerheads and geometric motifs. £300-400 (+18% BP*)

Lot 8 8. Wissa Wassef woven picture, Egypt, 20th century, 33in. x 35in. 84cm. x 89cm. Professionally laid on linen and mounted on a frame with velcro fastenings. The charming rural scene depicting a goose and ducks on a pond with a family of rabbits in the foreground with cockerels and hens among flowers and foliage. By repute this was displayed in a David Black Exhibition in the 1980s. £150-200 (+18% BP*)

Lot 10 10. Rare large pictorial silk ikat panel, depicting a row of pink and green tents across the centre flanked by many pink and green figures, a row of ivory cattle and figures at the base and a row of figures riding camels or horses at the top; with small ivory birds scattered throughout. The palette of the silk is very similar to the Uzbeki silk ikats. Possibly 18th or 19th century. 26in. x 36in. 66cm. x 92cm. Shattering to the silk in places. Framed. £500-£600 (+18% BP*)

Lot 13 13. Fine Caucasian silk embroidery, 18th century, 25in. x 23in. 64cm. x 58cm. Overall wear; tears to the ground; repairs in places with some corrosion to the dark brown. The open weave ground finely embroidered in silk with a pale gold centre medallion and a pale blue lozenge in each corner; stylized floral geometric filler ornaments; narrow pale blue floral main border. Undyed cotton ground embroidered in floss silks with flowers, elephants and lions with shisha-work decoration, each lappet with an individual flower. Attractive Indian embroidered hanging, Banjara, north India, circa 1920s, 82in. x 58in. 209cm. x 147cm. with patchwork panels of fine Mochi embroidery in cotton and silk with bead and fabric trim and shisha-work in places. Made as a Dowry piece. Lined with black cotton. Provenance: Purchased from a Banjara family from their trunk of Dowry pieces and made using pieces of fabrics handed down the generations. £850-1000 (+18% BP*)

Overall wear, some pulled threads; small damages/ tears and surface marks in places. Red silk ground embroidered in coloured silks and metal threads with flowers, birds, butterflies and dragons; the pale blue silk skirt at the top edge embroidered with figures, animals, birds, flowers and auspicious objects. Purchasers will be deemed: a) To have inspected their lots prior to the sale; and b) To have accepted that lots are sold with all faults and imperfections specifically mentioned or not irrespective of whether they have bid in person, by commission or through an agent. 2. All goods are second hand and sold without warranty unless otherwise stated in the sale catalogue or by the auctioneers from the rostrum. Any implied warranty, condition or other term is excluded except where to do so would be unlawful. 3. The auctioneers undertake that care has been taken to see that catalogue descriptions are accurate and reliable, however these are matters of opinion only and shall not be taken to be statements of fact. 4. The auctioneers act as agents to the vendor and shall not incur liability to any purchaser for any statement, representation or warranty as to title, quality or otherwise of any lot made on behalf of and with the vendors authority. 5. 9. a) At the fall of the hammer the purchaser is required to give his own name (or where applicable his paddle number). If he has bid on behalf of another person, company or organisation he should make this clear to the auctioneer at the time. b) If, and as required the auctioneer at the fall of the hammer the purchaser shall also give his address and/or the address if the principal and/or pay to the auctioneer all or part of the purchase price plus VAT and buyer’s premium. c) Any such payment at the fall of the hammer may be treated, at the auctioneer’s discretion, as a general deposit against all purchases, made by the purchaser on the day. d) All lots must be paid for in cash, or in other manners acceptable to the auctioneers on the day of the sale and before delivery is given. e) Failure by the purchaser to comply with sub clause (a) and (b) shall entitle the auctioneer to cancel the sale and, at his discretion, to immediately re-offer the lot in question for sale by auction. 10. b) If upon resale as aforesaid a lower price is obtained foe any lot that was obtained on the first sale, the difference in price together with all costs and charges attending the resale shall be a debt due from the purchaser in default at the first sale. c) Alternatively the auctioneers may, at their discretion, store the lot and recover reasonable charges for doing so from the purchaser. 16. Rescission Notwithstanding any terms of these conditions if, within 14 days after the sale, the auctioneers have received from the buyer of any lot notice in writing that in their view the lot is a deliberate forgery and that within 21 days after such notification the buyer returns the same to the auctioneers in the same condition as at the time of sale and by producing evidence, the burden of proof to be upon the buyer and if the auctioneers consider in the light of the entry in the catalogue, that the lot is a deliberate forgery than the sale of the lot will be rescinded and purchase price refunded. In the event of a dispute then the matter will be settled by arbitration. 17. We are situated on the A3094 south west of Salisbury based at The Livestock Market which is signposted on approaches to the City. We have a large car park and refreshments are available.
