The Experience Gift
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is a show I first saw in New York in 2005. A decade later, and I am delighted that the Ambassador Theatre Group is bringing this sparkling musical comedy (inspired by the famous film starring Steve Martin and Michael Caine) to Scotland’s favourite stage. This very funny show comes to us fresh from West End success in a new production directed by Jerry Mitchell whose award-winning credits include Legally Blonde the Musical.
Buy an Ambassador Experience and make someone’s theatre visit even more enchanting. Choose from added extras at our fabulous bars or upgrade to the full VIP Experience in one of our stylish and luxurious Ambassador Lounges. Perfect, whatever the celebration.
The Choice-Is-Yours Gift
As the nights draw in we have been hugely busy securing the finest array of talent to tempt you in! Nick Cave, Kevin Bridges, Omid Djalili, Dara O Briain, Alan Carr, John Barrowman, Derren Brown, Dynamo and Playhouse favourite Lorna Luft with a celebration of her mother, Judy Garland, ensures there’s something for everyone in 2015.

By the end of my first year as General Manager in March 2015, we will have re-invested over £350,000 of Restoration Levy funds into the fabric of your Playhouse. By the time you read this introduction, we will have proudly completed the first phase of our scheme to upgrade and restore the auditorium. Over 800 of the old stalls seats will have been replaced, improving leg room and comfort for all. In addition, Albert’s Bar (named after our friendly resident theatre ghost), the Mezzanine Bar and Director’s Box are all set to be refurbished in January. Significant improvements have also now been made to our backstage area and technical facilities.

Coppélia Every toy has a story, especially in this charming comedy of errors, a witty combination of antics and abracadabra, set in a doll maker’s workshop. Coppélia is perfect for first-time balletgoers, families and everyone in between.
The Nutcracker
This most famous of fantasy ballets for all the family begins as night falls on Christmas Eve. When midnight strikes we are swept away to a fairy-tale world where nothing is quite as it seems, toy dolls spring to life, the Mouse-king and his mouse-army battle with the Nutcracker Prince and we travel through the Land of Snow to an enchanted place where the magic really begins.
Swan Lake
The greatest romantic ballet of all time is brought to life by Tchaikovsky’s haunting and unforgettable score. From the impressive splendour of the Palace ballroom to the moon-lit lake where swans glide in perfect formation, this compelling tale of tragic romance has it all.

gallops back out on tour to bring the West End production to theatres across the land (to the sound of banging coconut shells). Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is a kind-of-new musical with a book by Eric Idle and an entirely new score for the new production (well, almost), created by Eric Idle and John du Prez. The latest tour, which is directed by Christopher Luscombe, follows hot on the heels of the can’t–believe-how-successful-it-was Monty Python Reunion at The O2 and Eric Idle’s acclaimed performance of Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life at the 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony - the world sang along, and Spamalot audiences get the opportunity to do so too! During the run, there have been 21 onstage moustache incidents, three suspected cases of swine flu (French pigs!), three outbreaks of nits and 92 pairs of coconuts.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest new musical openings to grace the West End stage and seen already by over half a million people, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. This major new production is a rare chance to return to ‘an all but lost era of musical comedy’ (The Guardian) and relive the golden age of the classic musical. Based on the classic comedy film starring Sir Michael Caine and Steve Martin, you’ll be transported to the French Riviera and its decadent underworld, as two seasoned swindlers attempt to hoodwink a millionaire heiress. As the pair compete in the true art of the con, they discover there is only room for one of them. Multi award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray, Legally Blonde) leads one of the finest creative teams ever assembled including the comedy duo who gave us TV’s Mad About You and West End hit musical The Full Monty. Sophisticated and suave with a good dash of mischief, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is set to be the finest night out of 2015 - secure your ticket today.
