WELCOME
Spring 2015 Welcome to the Spring season at The Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall.
On the back of the awesome War Horse, The National Theatre returns to The Regent Theatre with The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. This thrilling production is based on the Mark Haddon novel and has received critical acclaim and five star reviews. Get your sarsparilla at the ready, as we welcome Calamity Jane in March! Jodie Prenger (I’d Do Anything) and Tom Lister (Emmerdale) star as Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok in this loveable musical set in 1800s Black Hills country. At The Victoria Hall, we have a whole host of names from the world of music, comedy and dance, including Anton and Erin, Collabro (Britain’s Got Talent), Omid Djalili, Dave Spikey and Simple Minds. We’ve been working on making improvements to both our venues this year, with the stalls bar at the Regent being redecorated and the ceiling re-papered. Whilst at the Victoria Hall, some of the many improvements made include 260 of our seat cushions being replaced, and new signage has been installed on our bridges. We continue to make improvements for the better and to enhance customers’ comfort and enjoyment. We look forward to welcoming you! Best wishes, Andrew Nicklin General Manager Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall

‘Europe’s Best Ballet Company’
Northern Ballet was named ‘Best Company’ at the Taglioni European Ballet Awards 2014.
Be moved this spring and let ‘Europe’s leading dance actors’ captivate you through a mix of powerful storytelling and classical dance as Northern Ballet perform two breathtaking ballets in one evening. Northern Ballet transports you to Japan as the Company presents its much-loved and heartbreakingly tragic Madame Butterfly, specially adapted to give audiences a more intimate experience. The inspiration for the world famous musical Miss Saigon, the story of Madame Butterfly tells of the doomed love affair between an American Naval Lieutenant and his young Japanese bride, Butterfly. Perpetuum Mobile (Perpetual Motion) doesn’t tell a story but does show off the dancers at their athletic best. The incredible strength and prowess of Northern Ballet’s dancers will leave you breathless. So let Northern Ballet’s uniquely expressive dancers sweep you away for an evening of unrivalled storytelling, dance and live music. Madame Butterfly image Jason Tozer. Undoubtedly one of the biggest new musical openings to grace the West End stage and seen already by over half a million people, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels has been acclaimed by critics and audiences alike. This major new production is a rare chance to return to ‘an all but lost era of musical comedy’ (The Guardian) and relive the golden age of the classic musical. Based on the classic comedy film starring Sir Michael Caine and Steve Martin, you’ll be transported to the French Riviera and its decadent underworld, as two seasoned swindlers attempt to hoodwink a millionaire heiress. As the pair compete in the true art of the con, they discover there is only room for one of them. Multi award-winning director and choreographer Jerry Mitchell (Hairspray, Legally Blonde) leads one of the finest creative teams ever assembled including the comedy duo who gave us TV’s Mad About You and West End hit musical The Full Monty. Sophisticated and suave with a good dash of mischief, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is set to be the finest night out of 2015 - secure your ticket today.
