Every year the venue holds bucket collections during the pantomime run, and we are delighted to announce the highest sum of donations to date was raised by our generous audiences last Christmas - a total of £8,912.36, supporting local charities Florence Nightingale Hospice and Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity. Our charity work continues this year with the theatre supporting Florence Nightingale Hospice’s Midnight Walk and providing donations to much-needed local causes.

After our biggest-selling family pantomime to date, I’d like to take the opportunity to introduce you to a couple of our Box Office team responsible for selling the tickets and getting you the best seats in the house – here’s what they’re most looking forward to this season:

‘I am the Ticketing Manager at Aylesbury Waterside Theatre. I’m really excited for this forthcoming season especially seeing Mairi McLean National Theatre’s Jane Eyre on stage – one of my favourite books. I’m really excited for Ghost too - I went to a preview of it a few months ago and absolutely loved it. Our Ambassador Lounge has been open for a whole year now. If you haven’t been to this beautiful space, I can’t recommend it highly enough. I look forward to seeing you at the Box Office soon!’

‘I have worked on the Box Office for over five years and love advising customers on their seating. I have seen many performances from Polly Stanton-Smith musicals to plays, comedy to panto, but my favourite genre is ballet. I am a huge fan of Northern Ballet as their productions are so inventive. When they brought Beauty and the Beast to us I saw it four times in one week! I am so looking forward to seeing The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas in June, I can’t wait.’

‘A FIVE-STAR ‘WHO DUNNIT’’ THE GUILDFORD DRAGON NEWS Eunice struggles to fit in. When she joins a wealthy family as their housekeeper, the very reason for her awkwardness, long hidden and deeply buried, leads inexorably to a terrible tale of murder in cold blood - on Valentine’s Day. Ruth Rendell’s brilliant plot unravels a lifetime of deceit, despair and cover-ups which, when revealed, brings a shocking revelation almost as grizzly as murder itself. The star cast includes award-winning TV and stage favourite Andrew Lancel best known on TV as villainous Frank Foster in Coronation Street and DI Neil Manson in The Bill. He is joined by Sophie Ward who played the beautiful, ill-fated love interest of Young Sherlock Holmes and Dr Helen Trent in ITV’s Heartbeat, pop-idol Mark Wynter who has featured in seven Agatha Christie Company productions, Deborah Grant, who has starred in Not Going Out and Bergerac, movie icon Shirley Anne Field who became an overnight star in The Entertainer opposite Sir Laurence Olivier, Antony Costa from chart-topping boy band Blue and Ben Nealon from ITV’s award-winning Soldier Soldier. | 10 |
