HOLIDAY FUN FOR THE FAMILY! TUE 11 - SAT 29 DEC
WELCOME Having recently joined the New Theatre team, I am delighted to introduce our new Spring 2013 season to you. We have an exciting few months ahead, with the usual mix of musicals, comedy, opera, concerts and ballet. Don’t miss the must-see show this Christmas - Starlight Express is back and is the perfect family show for the festive season. Priscilla Queen of the Desert rolls into Oxford in February to warm up your winter, starring Jason Donovan who re-creates the role he originated in the West End. Ellen Kent returns with Tosca and Carmen in February bringing a majestic Andalucian stallion on to the stage - and the classic fairy tale The Sleeping Beauty is brought to life by English National Ballet. Comedy fans will be spoilt for choice with Jimmy Carr, Milton Jones, Harry Hill, Pam Ann, Micky Flanagan and Reginald D Hunter - and don’t forget Childish Things 9, three nights raising money for Helen & Douglas House, which always has an incredible line up of top music and comedy talent. Music lovers should look out for The Rat Pack, Little Mix, The Bootleg Beatles, The Johnny Cash Story, The Magic of Motown and The Moody
CONTENTS Blues. Other season highlights include Derren Brown with his brand new show; Boogie Nights in concert featuring The Osmonds and for our younger audience members My First Cinderella. I am particularly thrilled to be returning to Oxford, having previously worked in the city with Oxford Stage Company. More recently I have been Chief Executive of the brand new Waterside Theatre in Aylesbury, leading the operation from concept to launch. I’m looking forward to working with the New Theatre team and meeting our stakeholders, supporters, members of the local community, and you, the audience, over the coming months. The New Theatre has for many years been a focal point for theatre and entertainment in the city. I will be working to ensure that we will maintain our reputation as the provider of excellent entertainment in the heart of this incredible city. Once again we have some fantastic offers for ATG Theatre Card members - over 3,000 people are enjoying the benefits. Half price tickets on many shows, priority booking and discounts at the bar. Full of freedom and high spirits they embark on a family holiday to the coast and a traditional seaside town. The young siblings soon discover much more than just sea and sand when they meet a handsome American airman, who invites them to a dance at the nearby United States Air force base.
