WELCOME

SUMMER 2013

Welcome to our fabulous Summer season at The Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall and please let me take a moment to introduce myself as the new General Manager of these two stunning venues.

the winter’s tale

Our season opens with a bang with the return of the highlyacclaimed Blood Brothers. This incredible show has now closed in the West End, so don’t miss your chance to see it on tour. The Rocky Horror Show also makes its return to Stoke-on-Trent, with Tracy Beaker’s Dani Harmer and Sam Attwater (EastEnders, Dancing on Ice) taking lead roles. We also welcome West End smash-hit, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert for the very first time. This wildly fresh and funny musical is hilariously entertaining and jam-packed with dance-floor hits - a great night out! The Victoria Hall is also bursting with some of the great names we have now come to expect, including Deacon Blue, Jason Manford and Jools Holland. We look foward to welcoming you to The Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall this season!

Best wishes, Andrew Nicklin General Manager

Leontes has everything a man could want: power, wealth, a loving family and friends. But he is not at peace. Inside he harbours a bitter jealousy that drives him to destroy all he holds dear. Many years later, in a distant country, a journey begins that may ultimately heal his pain and reunite his family in Shakespeare’s uplifting tale of reconciliation and forgiveness. Following her acclaimed 2012 RSC production of The Taming of the Shrew, Lucy Bailey returns to the Royal Shakespeare Company to direct a company including Jo Stone-Fewings as Leontes and Tara Fitzgerald as Hermione, with music by Bellowhead lead singer Jon Boden. 4
