Supporting Theatre, Changing Lives.

Richmond Theatre Trust is an independent charitable trust engaging with members of our local communities through theatre-related activities. Working in partnership with Richmond Theatre’s Creative Learning department, we have been able to provide opportunities to a wide range of people to enjoy the excitement of theatre, learn new skills, develop their talents, create and perform. Past participants include young carers and looked-after children. All of our projects are funded through generous donations from members of the public, Richmond Theatre audiences and grants from local trusts and foundations. We’d like to thank the local community for its continued support of Richmond Theatre Trust over the years. “During my twelve years as CEO of Richmond Theatre, I was passionate about promoting creative learning, offering all members of the local community, especially children and young people, the opportunity to experience and participate in a wide range of drama activities. Why? I know from my own experience, drama changes lives. I am so pleased to be a member of a group of trustees, dedicated to raising funds to enable local, disadvantaged young people to access the wonderful work at Richmond Theatre.”

“As a supporter and patron of the Richmond Theatre Trust for over ten years I have been impressed with the range of community-based projects the trust has undertaken to open up the theatre for all members of our community, from drama projects with young carers and ‘relaxed performances,’ to subsidised tickets for school children. RTT is currently raising money for drama projects that help young people with mental health problems and any support you are able to give is very much appreciated.”

Christopher Harper (Coronation Street), John Middleton (Emmerdale), Jack Ashton (Call The Midwife) and Hannah Tointon (Mr Selfridge) lead the cast in a brand-new production of the spellbinding thriller, from the team that brought you the hit production Gaslight. Strangers On A Train is based on the world-renowned 1950 novel by Patricia Highsmith, made universally famous by the classic Oscar-winning Alfred Hitchcock film. In the great tradition of Hitchcock, this spine-chilling tale will delight you with its dark wit whilst having you on the edge of your seat from the start. A fateful encounter takes place between two men in the dining carriage of a train crossing America. Guy is the successful businessman with a nagging jealousy, Charles is the cold, calculating chancer with a dark secret. A REMOTE IRISH TOWN… HAUNTED BY SECRETS Winner of the 1997 Olivier Award for Best New Play, Conor McPherson’s chilling, modern classic The Weir comes to Richmond to mark its 20th Anniversary year. In a small Irish town, the locals exchange stories round the crackling fire of Brendan’s pub to while away the hours one stormy night. As the beer and whiskey flows, the arrival of a young stranger, haunted by a secret from her past, turns the tales of folklore into something more unsettling. One story, however, is more chilling and more real than any of them could have ever imagined. A shadowy tale delving into the dark corners of human lives, The Weir is a co-production between English Touring Theatre (French Without Tears, winners of 2016 UK Theatre Awards’ Best Touring Production for The Herbal Bed) and Mercury Theatre Colchester. Age guidance: 12+. Contains strong language and sensitive subject matters.

Regan De Wynter Williams present

Iolanthe By W.S. Gilbert and Arthur Sullivan

photo: kayyoungphotography.com Peppa Pig © Astley Baker Davies Ltd / Entertainment One UK Ltd 2003

Universally regarded as Sir Arthur Sullivan’s most beautiful score, Iolanthe is a topsy-turvy love story between the most unlikely of couples – fairies and members of the House of Lords! Sasha Regan’s all male, award-winning company return with their best-received production. Her inimitable inventiveness, combined with Gilbert and Sullivan’s inherent barminess, make for an unmissable night out. Iolanthe became the fourth consecutive major success for Gilbert and Sullivan. It was the first work to premiere at the Savoy and first new theatre production in the world to be illuminated entirely with electric light!

Join Peppa as she gets ready to go on an exciting camping trip to the woods with George and her PPA ATG 127x101.indd 1 school friends, including Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep and Gerald Giraffe. With lunch-boxes packed and Daddy Pig driving the bus, Peppa and friends are excited about their outdoor adventure, full of games, laughter and live music! The happy campers soon settle down to sleep and listen to the gentle pitter-patter of rain. Safe and warm inside their tents, the excited group can look forward to morning time when there will be lots of muddy puddles to play in!

In that time I’ve worked with all of the different youth theatre groups, running the workshops and directing their shows. It’s a great way to make new friends, have lots of fun and show off your performing skills. Oh, and laugh at my bad jokes!”
