Now in its seventh thrilling year, the Agatha Christie Theatre Company presents a stylish new production of the queen of crime’s classic thriller Murder on the Nile. On board a steamer, cruising under the scorching Egyptian sun, honeymooners Simon Mostyn and his wealthy socialite wife Kay find themselves being pursued by an old flame of the newly-wedded groom. Then tragedy strikes - a body is discovered. And all fingers point to Simon’s ex-fiancée. But everything is not what it seems, and holidaying cleric Canon Pennefather is drawn into a web of intrigue and deceit as he finds himself on the trail of a ruthless murderer. Presented by the official Agatha Christie Theatre Company and starring Kate O’Mara (Dynasty and Bad Girls), Denis Lill (The Royal, Doctor Who), Susie Amy (71 Degrees North, Footballers’ Wives), Chloe Newsome (Coronation Street), Ben Nealon (Soldier, Soldier) and 60s pop idol Mark Wynter. 10

The police are hanging on by a whisker... by that much... It’s not just here, mark you. It’s nationwide. One breath of wind - anarchy!’ Things are not right on The Bluebell Hill Development. Theft, petty crime, vandalism - all the ills of modern suburban existence are on the increase. Newcomers Martin and his sister Hilda are the crime wave’s latest victims and resolve to take action. After all, the law of the land, all that’s right and proper and even God Himself are surely on their side. But what starts out as a well-intentioned neighbourhood watch scheme soon develops into something altogether more sinister. Alan Ayckbourn’s hilarious cautionary tale of the dangers of taking the law into your own hands is his seventy-fifth play.

Golden Globe winner Amanda Donohoe leads a stellar cast of twelve in Noël Coward’s deliciously funny final play, Star Quality. Taking us behind the scenes of a new West End production, Coward conjures up a wickedly observant satire of the backstage world of talent and treachery. From tentative first rehearsal to triumphant opening night, both leading lady and director are determined to get their own way and the resulting clash of egos becomes increasingly and hilariously bloody. What emerges is a startling evocation of that most elusive gift of all - star quality. Adapted by Christopher Luscombe (director of The Madness of George III and The History Boys), Star Quality is a fitting farewell from the master of the stage.

B I RDS OF A FEATHER LIVE ON STAGE

The girls are back! One of BBC TV’s most popular and fondlyremembered sitcoms comes to the stage with all three of its original leading cast members, Pauline Quirke, Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph. Birds Of A Feather ran on the BBC for nearly ten years throughout the 1990’s becoming a massive hit right from the word go and remains not only a classic comedy but also, as a female-centred long-running series, a truly rare gem. And now the three stars of the TV series are reunited on stage to recreate their adored characters, sisters Sharon Theodopolopoudos and Tracy Stubbs and their sex-mad neighbour, Dorien Green, in a brand-new show. Please note that, due to the busy work lives of the three stars, this tour is very limited in length so make sure you grab this opportunity to see Birds Of A Feather onstage for the first time ever.

BOB TOMSON Trevor Tinsley is a small-town grocer with a devoted wife and new baby - but his desire to taste the forbidden fruit of free love leads him astray and into the welcoming arms of his neighbour’s wife. Hilarious misadventures ensue, revealing a host of comic characters, as Trevor’s actions lead him into conflict with his strait-laced community and provoke his narrow-minded wife into a surprising reaction of her own! Prolific playwright for the stage, television and radio, Mike Stott is renowned for celebrating the quirkiness and robust charm of ‘ordinary life’. TV favourites including Coronation Street’s Craig Gazey, winner of the British Soap Best Comedy Performer Award, Gemma Bissix, two-time British Soap Award winner, Vicky Entwistle, best known for her role as the feisty Janice Battersby in Coronation Street, and Heartbeat’s Steven Blakeley come together in this award-winning comedy classic. 22

Contains some strong language, semi nudity and adult humour. Not suitable for children.

Newly-weds Corrie and Paul have just moved into their cold eyrie of an apartment. Corrie is starry-eyed, Paul less so after staggering up five flights of stairs to find their new home has a broken skylight. Their building seems to be populated by unusual characters, the most bohemian being Victor whom Corrie finds entertaining. The newly-weds’ troubles come to a head when Corrie tries playing Cupid between Victor and her lonely mother and after a disastrous dinner party she learns that walking barefoot in the park may not necessarily denote joi de vivre – in February it is simply silly! Richmond favourite Maureen Lipman is currently starring in the ITV comedy series Ladies of Letters. Theatre credits include See How They Run, Neil Simon’s Lost in Yonkers, and When We Are Married. One of the world’s most popular playwrights, Neil Simon has had countless successes: The Odd Couple, The Sunshine Boys, The Prisoner of Second Avenue, Laughter On the 23rd Floor and the Pulitzer Prize-winning Lost in Yonkers.

A heart-warming and bittersweet comedy, Steel Magnolias is the funniest play ever to make you cry - and now on tour starring Kacey Ainsworth, Isla Blair, Cheryl Campbell, Cherie Lunghi, Sadie Pickering and Denise Welch, it’s coming to Richmond Theatre for one week only! Join six remarkable ladies from deep south Louisiana the beautiful and impulsive Shelby; her strong-willed mother, M’Lynn; beauty parlour owner, Truvy; elegant wealthy widow, Clairee; sharp-tongued Ouiser and mousey newcomer Annelle - as they ride life’s rollercoaster and enjoy friendship that has no boundaries. From the original play in 1987 to its film adaptation in 1989, Steel Magnolias, a true story by Robert Harling following the loss of his beloved sister, is a truly moving play that celebrates the strength and value of friendship, humour, and love in the midst of life’s greatest hardships.
