Giselle
Giselle is one of the few 19th century Romantic ballets to survive intact. Carefree village girl Giselle goes mad and dies of a broken heart when her peasant lover Albrecht is unmasked as a nobleman who is betrothed to another. When Albrecht visits her grave he finds the spirits of other maidens who died before their wedding day (the Wilis) dancing among the graves in the moonlight. Any man who sees the Wilis ritual is doomed to dance until he dies from exhaustion, but Giselle’s spirit and everlasting love for Albrecht saves him from death.

gallops back out on tour to bring the West End production to theatres across the land (to the sound of banging coconut shells). Lovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Spamalot is a kind-of-new musical with a book by Eric Idle and an entirely new score for the new production (well, almost), created by Eric Idle and John du Prez. The latest tour, which is directed by Christopher Luscombe, follows hot on the heels of the can’t–believe-how-successful-it-was Monty Python Reunion at The O2 and Eric Idle’s acclaimed performance of Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life at the 2012 Olympic Closing Ceremony - the world sang along, and Spamalot audiences get the opportunity to do so too! During the run, there have been 21 onstage moustache incidents, three suspected cases of swine flu (French pigs!), three outbreaks of nits and 92 pairs of coconuts.

Presented by arrangement with Josef Weinberger Limited It is 1947 and Joe and Kate Keller, an all-American couple, are living with the ghosts of World War II. Joe is a successful, self-made businessman, a loving family man and a pillar of the community. He is a partner in a machine shop building fighter plane parts. Joe and Kate’s happiness is clouded by one thing – their son is missing in action, presumed dead by all but his mother. All My Sons is a searing investigation of honesty, guilt and the corrupting power of greed. The play was Arthur Miller’s first success, establishing him as a leading voice in theatre. Talawa are the UK’s primary Black led touring theatre company. Michael Buffong is Artistic Director of Talawa, his recent credits include Moon On A Rainbow Shawl (National Theatre), All My Sons (Royal Exchange Theatre), and God’s Property (Talawa Theatre Company, Soho Theatre and the Albany).

Below the ocean there is no death or pain or separation. Above the water is the modern world beset with war, poverty and need. On her sixteenth birthday, a mermaid rises up to the surface, leaving her childhood behind forever when she falls in love with a mortal prince. She knows that she can no longer live at the bottom of the ocean, but must she destroy herself in order to be loved? Shared Experience is renowned for its thrilling adaptions of literary classics. Plundering Hans Christian Andersen’s haunting tale for its dark, erotic, mythic power, writer and director Polly Teale (Brontë, Jane Eyre, After Mrs Rochester) transports the story to a contemporary setting in this spell-binding new production. Using a chorus of local young women to create an unearthly musical landscape Shared Experience conjures the magical world of Mermaids.

★★★★ This award winning and exquisitely funny new take on the much-loved classic was a huge critical and popular hit during its London run and proved just as successful in Australia when it landed in Cate Blanchett’s Sydney Theatre. A must-see for fans of all things musical, witty and imaginative. Having triumphed in Australia, Sasha’s Pirates of Penzance makes a welcome voyage home to the UK this spring 2015. The tale of a child apprenticed to a band of tenderhearted, orphaned pirates was an immediate triumph for Gilbert and Sullivan and remains their most popular and successful work.

‘brilliant’ sunday mirror
WRITTEN BY REGINALD ROSE DIRECTED BY CHRISTOPHER HAYDON Following its record breaking West End run, this powerful new production of Reginald Rose’s gripping courtroom thriller Twelve Angry Men has been hailed as the ‘classiest, most intelligent drama in the West End’. It brings to the stage the taut brilliance of the 1957 threetime Academy Award nominated film which starred Henry Fonda, and is considered to be one of the great ‘must-see’ movies of all time. A jury has murder on their minds and a life in their hands as they decide the fate of a young delinquent accused of killing his father. But what appears to be an open and shut case soon becomes a huge dilemma as prejudices and preconceived ideas about the accused, the trial and each other turn the tables every which way, until the nail-biting climax. DIRECTOR JOE HARMSTON DESIGNER SIMON SCULLION COSTUME DESIGNER ROBERTO SURACE LIGHTING DESIGNER DOUG KUHRT
To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Agatha Christie Theatre Company, And Then There Were None returns to the stage to follow in the footsteps of the company’s hugely successful Witness for the Prosecution and Black Coffee. Starring BAFTA nominated stage and screen star Paul Nicholas, Colin Buchanan from Dalziel and Pascoe, Susan Penhaligon who starred in Bouquet of Barbed Wire and A Fine Romance, TV favourite Mark Curry. A group of 10 strangers are lured to a remote island off the coast of Devon. Upon arrival it is discovered that their host, an eccentric millionaire, is missing. Stranded on the island by a torrential storm and haunted by an ancient nursery rhyme, one by one the guests begin to die. With only the fallen believed to be innocent who amongst them is the killer? Based on the best selling mystery novel of all time, Agatha Christie’s own stage adaptation of this dark and captivating tale will thrill and enthral, as murder unfolds.
