Southport Theatre & Convention Centre W H AT ’ S O N | J U LY – D E C E M B E R 2017
WELCOME TO SOUTHPORT THEATRE AND CONVENTION CENTRE...
Southport Theatre and Convention Centre prides itself on being the home of many community events throughout the year. This May we celebrated the achievements of the region’s young footballers, as we hosted the Craven Minor Junior Football League Awards. The Floral Hall also provided a stunning venue for Southport Trinity AFC’s Ball, the club is in its 119th year and we were proud to host its annual fundraising dinner dance.
Our new What’s On guide brings you details of our forthcoming season, including our spectacular panto, Cinderella! We look forward to welcoming you over the coming months, either for a performance or making the most of our beautiful function suites, to celebrate, entertain and impress your guests. See what people have to say about us…
‘DREAMBOATS AND PETTICOATS – THE THEATRE IS BEAUTIFUL, THE STAFF ARE VERY HELPFUL AND COURTEOUS. OVERALL A VERY PLEASANT EVENING. THE SHOW ITSELF WAS SUPERB, A DEFINITE RE-VISIT IS IN ORDER.’ TRIP ADVISOR
‘THIS IS A FABULOUS THEATRE. WE HAD A GREAT NIGHT WATCHING I’M SORRY I HAVEN’T A CLUE BUT BY FAR AND AWAY THE BEST THING ABOUT THIS PLACE IS THE STAFF – THEY ARE INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY, UBER PROFESSIONAL AND EFFICIENT AND REALLY MAKE YOUR VISIT TO THE THEATRE.’ TRIP ADVISOR
Behind the scenes, Southport Theatre and Convention Centre relies on its fantastic team to make sure everything goes according to plan, from West End musicals and stand-up comedy in the Theatre, to huge conferences in the Floral Hall, or catering for a celebratory dinner for 80 guests in the delightfully intimate Lakeside Suite.
‘Whilst I love the variety of shows visiting the Theatre, there are two events that I’m really looking forward to this season. Southport Wendy Lucas Comic Con returns in September after a great debut last year. We had so many enthusiasts who dressed up and got into the spirit of it, it should be another fantastic day. And later that month, The Gin Society are bringing their Gin Festival to the Floral Hall, a chance to explore the world of gin in our art deco ballroom!’ – Wendy Lucas, Head of Sales.
CELEBRATE WITH US
From colour schemes to menu choices, bespoke lighting to table centrepieces, the events team work tirelessly to create the perfect atmosphere and make sure that everyone who visits the venue has the best experience possible. This is no mean feat! In 2016 we celebrated with 3,000 wedding guests, served 20,000 glasses of champagne, welcomed 7,000 Rotarians, and soft-shoe shuffled with 5,000 dancers. And 2017 is already on track to beat these numbers!
