WELCOME TO YOUR LATEST WHAT’S ON GUIDE FOR THE REGENT THEATRE, STOKE-ON-TRENT...
CREATIVE LEARNING SUCCESS STORY
In August our Creative Learning team welcomed 60 youngsters, aged between 8 and 19 years old, to The Regent Theatre stage as part of our Stage Experience programme. The team had two weeks to put on three full scale performances of Disney’s High School Musical. The show went down a storm and we can’t wait for Stage Experience 2018!
Featuring something for everyone in our sizzling new season. Top of the bill is our lavish pantomime, Aladdin starring one of Stoke-on-Trent’s favourite sons, Jonathan Wilkes. The ever-popular Jersey Boys are back, proving that great music is always cool – and chillier still is the marvellous murder mystery, Case of the Frightened Lady. Knowing the importance of a good cuppa, the Regent Theatre now offers afternoon tea ahead of selected matinee performances. Join us in our beautiful Piano Bar for a pot of tea or coffee with delicious sandwiches and cakes, all served on Royal Crown Derby fine bone china. Afternoon tea is available before selected matinee performances.

MEET GRACE…
Grace Challinor, Acting General Manager for the Regent Theatre and Victoria Hall, is well versed in the world of theatre. Grace trained at the Millennium Dance Centre and has worked in theatre management at the Apollo Victoria Theatre, The Savoy and The Lyceum – not to mention a six month stint at The Hudson Theatre on Broadway. After almost ten years in London, she returned to Stoke-on-Trent two years ago to work in her home town and hasn’t looked back since! Favourite thing about Stoke-on-Trent “Our pottery industries. I think it’s fantastic that I’ve worked in London and New York and found myself drinking a coffee out of a cup that was made in Stoke-on-Trent; it’s a little slice of home wherever you are in the world. A very close second are oatcakes!” Favourite theatre show “This is hard but it has to be Jersey Boys. My first job in theatre was working Front of House at Jersey Boys in the West End and the show never failed to put a smile on my face. It’s a real favourite with my family and we all came to see the tour at the Regent in 2014 – no doubt we’ll be coming again when it returns in February!
There are so many fantastic shows, but my pick for the upcoming season is The Band. I look forward to seeing you in the venues soon!”

ROY MARSDEN When Inspector Tanner is called in to investigate a ruthless murder at Mark’s Priory, the grand ancestral home of the Lebanon family, he quickly discovers that nothing is quite as it seems. The household is controlled by the family physician, the footmen behave more like guests than servants and the secretary Isla is afraid for her life. As Tanner moves closer to the heart of the mystery he uncovers a shocking and closely guarded secret. Following this year’s acclaimed production of Ruth Rendell’s A Judgement in Stone, the Classic Thriller Company returns with a brand new adaptation. Widely recognised as one of the most popular writers of the early 20th century and the brains behind one of the most iconic films of all time King Kong, Edgar Wallace’s gripping page-turners are regarded as the bedrock of the modern thriller and The Case of the Frightened Lady remains one of his most celebrated works.
