He is the recipient of four Emmy Awards, fifteen Grammy Awards and a Kennedy Center Honor for achievement in the arts. After making an auspicious debut with the Merola Program at the San Francisco Opera, her career skyrocketed to include several decades of performances at many of the world’s finest opera stages. Batiste has recorded with Prince, Jimmy Buffet, Wynton Marsalis, and Lenny Kravitz – to name a few.

The Takács Quartet Sun, Oct 27, 3pm The consummate artistry and exquisite, award-winning recordings of The Takács Quartet place them in the top ranks of string quartets worldwide. In their Weill Hall debut, they perform works by Mozart and Dvorzák and are joined by special guests Erika Eckert (viola) and Scott Pingel (bass). Tickets: $30 – $70

The Silk Road Ensemble 15th Anniversary Year
Yo-Yo Ma, Artistic Director
Tue, Oct 29, 7:30pm Founded by Yo-Yo Ma, this innovative ensemble draws together distinguished musicians from more than twenty countries and has performed to critical acclaim throughout Asia, Europe, and North America. Their most recent recording, Off the Map, was nominated for a Grammy in 2011. Tickets: $30 – $70

Baroque Orchestra include the double bass, harpsichord, cello and viola.
Since its founding in 1997, the Venice Baroque Orchestra has quickly become one of the world’s premier period instrument ensembles, performing to great acclaim across the world. In their Green Music Center debut, they are joined by the superb French counter-tenor, Philippe Jarouskky, who has taken the classical music world by storm. Tickets: $40 - $85
Bahia Orchestra Project Richard Castro, conductor Jean-Yves Thibaudet, piano Sun, Feb 23, 3pm Modeled on the Venezuelan “El Sistema,” this Brazilian youth orchestra has won the hearts of audiences throughout Europe and Latin America. In their U.S. debut tour, they perform Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G Major with the internationally acclaimed French pianist, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, along with music of their native Brazil. An Afternoon of Opera with David Lomeli and Leah Crocetto The Santa Rosa Symphony Sun, Mar 9, 3pm These two former San Francisco Opera Adler fellows have enjoyed meteoric careers. Crocetto became an overnight sensation when she won the 2010 Metropolitan Opera audition, while Lomeli earned first place in Plácido Domingo’s vocal competition when he was only 26. . Estrella Morente Sat, Mar 15, 7:30pm This Spanish superstar began singing flamenco music with her famous father, Enrique Morente, at the age of seven. She gained her own following after her appearance on the soundtrack of Pedro Almódovar’s film, Volver. Her fourth studio album was released in 2012, reinforcing her legacy as a singer with grace, passion, and fire.

Jessye Norman, soprano Sat, Mar 29, 3pm Jessye Norman was born into a musical family and began singing in public when she was only six. Throughout her long and illustrious career, she has conquered opera’s most iconic roles in stages from Lincoln Center to Covent Garden, from Carnegie Hall to La Scala. For her Weill Hall debut, she performs American spirituals in what is destined to be a season highlight. Tickets: $40 - $85 Norman curated Honor! in 2009 – a celebration of African American cultural legacy that was exhibited throughout New York City.
Deborah Voigt, soprano Sun, Apr 13, 3pm Deborah Voigt is a preeminent dramatic soprano, who got her start at San Francisco Opera’s Merola program. She is renowned for her portrayal of Brünnhilde in Wagner’s Ring Cycle at the Met, and for her lead role in Annie Get Your Gun at the Glimmerglass Festival. Tickets: $40 - $85 Voigt is an alumna of the California State University system – she graduated from CSU Fullerton in 1978.

Leah Crocetto represented the United States in 2011 at the Cardiff BBC Singer of the World Competition where she was a finalist in the Song Competition.
At 33, violinist Hilary Hahn has already blazed an astonishing career. A two-time Grammy winner, she was named “America’s Best Young Classical Musician” by TIME in 2011. Her flawless virtuosity and probing interpretations win her legions of fans wherever she goes. Tickets: $40 - $85
David Lomeli caught the opera world’s attention in 2006 when he won both top prizes in Placido Domingo’s prestigious Operalia competition - in both the opera and zarzuela categories. He was the first artist ever to win both.
