Monuments The city of Athens is, in and of itself, a sort of museum. Walking through the city, you ’re sure to encounter marble figureheads and fenced off areas enclosing archaeological digs. The very streets upon which you walk encase the histories of the women and men who occupied this land thousands of years ago. But, like any museum, Athens has too many artifacts to explore in a lifetime, let alone a single vacation.
