Sign Language Level 1, 2 & 3 Irish Sign Language is the first language of the many partially/profoundly deaf people. This basically means that they use a visual form of communication.
LANGUAGES
Sign Language first began in France and after some time was brought to Ireland and taught to all deaf and hard of hearing people. However, today many hearing people learn sign language as a means of communicating with the deaf community. Signs are made using the hands in combination with non-manual features; the eyes, brows, cheeks, lip patterns, tilting of the head and some movement of the shoulders and upper torso. All levels are 1 year (20 weeks) in duration and take place from 7.00pm to 9.00pm on the evenings detailed below. Course fee for each level is â‚Ź300.
