About Open Days at AIT • Open Days at AIT present an ideal opportunity to discover more about going to college in Athlone. You will get to talk with lecturers about courses that are of interest to you, find out what you will be studying and what type of jobs you can expect to qualify for. • You will also meet with current students to get the low-down on college life; from completing assignments to going for sporting glory. • Representatives of SUSI will be present on both days, with an exhibition stand on Friday and information sessions on Saturday. • Experience the wealth of clubs and societies on campus, with everything from GAA, rugby and athletics clubs to the debating soc, beats soc and gamers lounge. • Find out about study abroad opportunities at one of our European partners through Erasmus, or further afield in China or Canada or Brazil. • Exhibition areas are located in the canteen of the main building on campus, the Engineering and Informatics Building, and the Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Studies Building. • Campus tours will guide you around our facilities, which have received more than €115 million investment since 2000. Get to see lecture theatres and labs, as well as the institute’s Olympic- and FIFA-standard indoor and outdoor facilities, including the new International Arena. • Our student ambassadors are on hand to guide you around campus and to answer any of your questions about college life. They are the ones in the bright green t-shirts, so you can’t miss them! • Some facts and figures worth bearing in mind: just 18% of AIT graduates were seeking employment six months after completing their studies, 75% of honours degree students complete their degree at AIT, while 58% of honours degree students graduate with a 1st or 2.1.
