SOLUND

Solund is an island paradise with 1700 islands, islets and skerries in the west, where the fjord meets the open sea. Board the local postal boat to island hop and enjoy a fantastic trip uncovering many hidden gems.

Solund is a popular destination for holidays by boat and fishing holidays. Far out to sea is Utvær, the westernmost point of Norway. Here you’ll find Utvær lighthouse, and in the summer you can join a lighthouse safari to Utvær.

Solund is a dream come true for kayakers. The many islands provide shelter from winds and waves, and when the weather is good, it’s just a short way out to the mighty ocean. There are also lots of ways to get active on land. Clearly waymarked footpaths in varied terrain criss-cross the municipality. Solund is also great for cycling, with quiet roads and gentle gradients.

The most fascinating aspect of Solund is the nature and the sea – at Norway’s westernmost point.
