Atlanta Cyclorama & Civil War Museum The Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum is a unique facility that features the world’s largest diorama depicting the historic “Battle of Atlanta”. This one-of-a-kind painting, measuring 348’x42’, allows visitors to virtually step back into time and experience the Battle of Atlanta that took place on July 22, 1864, during the American Civil War. The experience offers breathtaking realism enhanced by a foreground of three-dimensional figures and terrain. The presentation is accompanied by music and narration, available in five languages. The museum also features the famed “Texas” Locomotive of the Great Locomotive Chase of 1862. This season’s programming continues the commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the Civil War.
