Atlanta artist Flora Rosefsky’s “Dance” (above) is part of her “Tradition Series,” commissioned by the William Breman Jewish Home in 1999. The bride and groom are hoisted on chairs for the hora while holding a piece of cloth. Rosefsky (www.FloraRosefsky.com) depicts that cloth as a special quilted handkerchief for a Jewish wedding. It’s a Holocaust remembrance piece with six embroidered yellow daffodils in the shape of a Star of David. The original quilted handkerchief is part of the Breman Jewish Heritage Museum’s permanent collection.
