Beneficiaries The Georgia Center for Child Advocacy
It is a safe and friendly place where a child can end his silence by talking to a trained professional about the abuse. With community support and awareness, we can help treat and heal victims of abuse and give children hope for the future. To find out more, visit georgiacenterforchildadvocacy.org
Page Turners Make Great Learners’
They have partnered with numerous local organizations, including the Alliance Theatre Education Institute, High Museum and Mayor Kasim Reed’s 2015 Summer Reading Club and garnered support from a variety of local organizations and businesses including PNC Bank, Lockheed, CBS46, Southern Company/ Georgia Power, Home Depot and the Chickfil-A Foundation.
is a private, nonprofit organization working to champion the needs of sexually and physically abused children through prevention, intervention, therapy, and collaboration. According to national statistics, 1 in 10 children will be sexually abused before age 18. Even more alarming is the fact that less than 10 percent of these children will ever tell a soul. Children who experience child abuse and neglect are 59 percent more likely to be arrested as a juvenile, 28 percent more likely to be arrested as an adult, and 30 percent more likely to commit a violent crime. Early intervention and treatment is important to minimize both the immediate trauma and the long-term negative impact on a child victim’s healthy emotional development. The Georgia Center provides services to child victims of abuse and their nonoffending caregivers, at no cost to the family.
mission is to expand children’s knowledge and understanding of the world, themselves and their unique possibilities through a love of reading. Page Turners motivates and encourages students in grades 3-5 to read through a variety of supplemental experiences that support and reinforce schools’ core language arts curriculum. Programs are conducted in Title I schools where the greatest need for our services exists. The importance and pleasure of reading is communicated through schoolwide Read-a-Thons, book donation drives and afterschool book clubs, facilitated by skilled classroom teachers. The goal is not only to provide a positive reading experience, but to draw a clear connection between the skill of reading and the world of the workplace. Since its founding in 2005, Page Turners has served thousands of metro Atlanta students through its public and school-based Read-a-Thons and afterschool book clubs.
Every year, we invite organizations focused on helping families to become beneficiaries for Atlanta Parent’s Family Festival. If your organization would like to be a beneficiary for 2016, please contact Jordan at JLisvosky@atlantaparent.com Atlanta Parent’s Family Festival

q Dress up in for favorite costumes and hear people yell BOO when you spend weekends in October at the ____.
q You’ll fly through the air with the greatest of ease with these clowns and their help on the trapeze.
