Celebrating 33 years of performing, educating, and community outreach, Ballethnic Academy of Dance invites you to spend a summer with us. Ballethnic offers 1-4 weeks of intensive training taught by dance professionals. There is a strong emphasis on dance terminology and dance history, with individualized training in alignment and body posture. Students also receive career guidance and exposure to all aspects of the performing arts. Ballethnic fosters a fun, nurturing environment, and before/after care is provided. Carlos Museum on view at the Michael C. Carlos Museum from February 18 to July 16, presents neverbefore-exhibited works by renowned photographer Thomas Dorsey. Known for his intimate portraits of African American families in their homes in Chicago and Atlanta, Dorsey also photographed the streets, homes, and buildings of his childhood neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side. This portfolio of black and white photographs, taken while Dorsey was enrolled at the Art Institute of Chicago, reveals the barren infrastructure of an underserved community and the resilience and stark beauty that can be discovered amidst bleak circumstances. Duke Ellington’s Cat Rules Center for Puppetry Arts

Join the Center for its current production of Duke Ellington’s Cat from January 31-March 12. The Center will also debut its newest original production for adult audiences, Tesla vs Edison, from February 22-March 12. For our Family Series, check out Penguin in My Pocket from March 15-April 2 and Charlotte’s Web from April 4-May 21. From February 21-June 18, the Center’s Screen and Stage: Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are special museum exhibition will feature puppets and costumes from the 2009 feature film and the Ballard Institute stage production. City Springs Theatre Company presents Monty Python’s Spamalot City Springs Theatre Company showcases its first theatrical production of 2023, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT. “Lovingly ripped off” from the classic 1975 film Monty Python and the Holy Grail, MONTY PYTHON’S SPAMALOT reimagines the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table in their search for the elusive Holy Grail. The CSTC production will star local favorite Googie Uterhardt as “King Arthur,” with Broadway veterans Kristine Reese ( “The Lady of the Lake”), Billy Tighe (“Galahad”), and David Rossetti (“Robin”). The production also stars Nick Walker Jones, Roberto Mendez, Kyle Robert Carter and Tyler Pirrung. March 10-26 at the Byers Theatre in the Sandy Springs Performing Arts Center.
