DESIGNING HEALTHY WORK ENVIRONMENTS NOVEMBER 10, 2011
DESIGNING HEALTHY WORK ENVIRONMENTS
Gain valuable guidance on designing healthy work environments in this session exploring the challenges of—and solutions to—balancing aesthetics with workstation functionality. This course explores ergonomic concerns in the office environment, and offers valuable insight on bridging the gap between design and function. Topics include an overview of common musculoskeletal problems facing today’s intensive computer users, key research developments in the areas of seating, input device design, display technology, lighting, and employee-level training.
Participants will learn how ergonomic principles are applied to the design of computer workstations to reduce employee discomfort and risk of injury while lowering employer costs. Information on how organizations can earn LEED credits through the implementation of an ergonomics program will also be provided.
