Time for a Fresh Look

We’ve flipped the calendar, and we’re already more than 1/12th of the way through 2021 (although, for many, this past January felt more like the 13th month of 2020). For us, February means it’s time for a new installment of the American Drycleaner Buyer’s Guide!

This year, however, you might be using it just a bit differently. If 2020 taught us anything, it’s that “the way we’ve always done it” is not a great way to plan for the future. It’s time for new ideas. Many cleaners have been taking on different types of work — or reexamining how they perform the tasks that, until now, they’ve taken for granted. Traditional dry cleaners who never thought they’d do anything else are now adding new facets to their businesses — wash-dry-fold services, route expansion (or creation), interior cleaning… the list goes on.

Leaving your comfort zone is, by definition, uncomfortable. When navigating a business through uncertain times, though, it’s essential to assess all the options that are on the table. That service you dismissed a couple of years ago might just become the lifeline that pulls you through to brighter days.

In the past, many cleaners might have looked through our Buyer’s Guide at the same few categories. This year, things are different. You might need to expand your network of manufacturers and providers to offer new services to your customers. There could be products you’ve never needed that, suddenly, are vital for your business.

Set aside some time to really look at the 2021 edition of our Buyer’s Guide, and open your mind to the possibilities that it contains.
