LILIN UK recently confirmed its Gold Level Sponsorship of the initiative with Steve Liddiard, CEO for the company, saying, “The LILIN UK team have admired Together for Cinema for many years and are so pleased to now contribute to this fantastic organisation. “The work that Together for Cinema do makes such a positive impact to the children and their families by giving them an opportunity to make treasured memories together in a comfortable and safe environment. We’re looking forward to seeing upcoming installations and the smiling faces they bring. Merit LILIN are committed to supporting causes that seek to improve opportunities for children and young people on a global scale.”
Another supporter of TFC is Origin Acoustics confirming its Gold Level Sponsorship recently. Jose Coelho, Int Business Director for the brand explains, “I First came across Ian’s work in 2016 when I was at QMotion and did a project in Surrey together. Since I heard about TFC I was on-board. We are very lucky to have access to incredible technology as part of our work every day and being able to improve the lives of those who otherwise would never have a chance to see it, is very heart warming. I was very happy to see Ian taking this project on as a full-time venture.”
For those not yet involved, Jose says, “Take a break from the daily stress and competition, recognise that we are in an incredible position, and share a moment with your peers helping to bring joy to those that need it the most.”
Marketing Manager at install company Smartcomm, Joanna Helin, tells EI, “We first heard about TFC in 2015, when Ian got in touch with us regarding the installation of the cinema in the Keech Hospice. The Keech Hospice Care is a hospice in Luton which provides care specifically for terminally ill children in Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes. We installed a cinema room for the children, their families and staff that could facilitate movies, gaming and presentations. Being a part of a scheme that uses AV solutions to actively and effectively help the children and their families, who are going through such a difficult time is probably the best thing about TFC.”
Joanna adds, “We are passionate about AV solutions and the benefits they bring. The spaces we create are not just for entertainment or the children, they truly help the families and all those in the hospice. The cinema room in the Keech Hospice is used to provide fun and entertainment for the children in the hospice. It is also used for other activities such as the support group for siblings of life-limited children and when the hospice is training bereavement volunteers. Any help you can give would be appreciated.” Smartcomm recently confirmed its Bronze Level sponsorship for TFC.
As well as installers, and manufacturers, distributors are also getting involved with Aldous Systems confirming a Silver Level Sponsorship package recently.
Company founder and MD, Jason Aldous explains, “I have known Ian Morrish for many years and was aware of his amazing activities with TFC and always thought it was a fantastic initiative but I struggled to figure out how to get involved and help so I was really pleased with this sponsorship scheme as it gave me a way to help make a small contribution. The whole concept is amazing. It is just really nice that as an industry we are using our skills and knowledge for such a worthy cause. Hopefully we can create a few happy memories for the families and children involved. Get involved with this amazing cause. Help make this a long-term sustainable project.”
Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice has its own fantastic cinema thanks to TFC and Bespoke Home Cinemas
LATEST SUCCESS
Big congrats to Bespoke Home Cinemas - who executed, and project managed the latest cinema to be finished as Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice now enjoys its own fantastic cinema. A full report on this project will follow in due course. Forget Me Not Children’s Hospice is located just north of Huddersfield and is a pioneering children’s hospice serving and supporting the local community. It’s 10 years old this year, and has Princess Beatrice as it’s Patron.
With cinema seating, acoustic walls, star effect lighting as well as top end home cinema AV equipment, this really is a signature installation to show what TFC can achieve.
TFC is currently working on three other cinema room installations all at differing stages. At the Rose Road Association, Southampton, Wessex AV has already started work with product gathering and DVD collection in process. This project should be finished by the end of August. Glo Audio Visual has completed site visits and room designs are awaiting approval from Claire House Children’s Hospice, Bebington on The Wirral. This project is due for completion by September of this year. Reubens Retreat, Glossop, Derbyshire, has had an initial meeting with a preferred installer and is awaiting their confirmation. Ian will be looking to engage with more installers at the CEDIA Tech Summit and EI Live! in September. More news next month!
