CEDIA TAKES ON THE TRAINING CHALLENGE

Advance your knowledge, business, and career with CEDIA. The trade association introduces its plans for 2022.

The long-term success of our industry is reliant upon a well-trained and professional workforce. For this reason, CEDIA continues to focus on its educational pathways to ensure that industry professionals can always be at the top of their game.

At ISE 2022, CEDIA will be running a comprehensive, in-person professional development programme delivered by subject matter experts from across the globe. This will include the opportunity to take CEDIA training in Spanish, along with a wide range of opportunities to learn new skills in the industry.

Evidence of this programme in action are our CEDIA Certified Cabling and Infrastructure Technician (CIT) and CEDIA Certified Integrated System Technician (IST) Certifications. Attendees will have the chance to take both examinations and earn those important qualifications for themselves.

Two of the major highlights of CEDIA’s professional development programme at ISE are the HAA Audio Calibration January 31 – February 3 and ISF Video Calibration Level 2 courses January 31 - February 1. Gerald Lemay, Founder of the Home Acoustics Alliance will present the first course, while Joel Silver will lead the ISF Video Calibration Level 2 training.

New for ISE 2022 and created to support the release of the new RP22 standard will be the RP22 Audio and Room Design Recommended Practice Workshop taking place on Tuesday February 1. This intensive advanced training introduces the new guidelines in RP22, focusing in on the four objectively defined levels of performance that will define different levels of immersive experience. Presented by Peter Aylett and Rich Green, the course takes a ‘teach then do’ approach and will challenge small groups to apply guidelines to real-world rooms.

Another recommended practices course that is fresh for ISE 2022 is CEDIA/CTARP28 HDMI System Design and Verification Recommended Practice. Hosted by Jason Dustel of Murideo, this course will look in detail at this new document and its implications for the CEDIA community.

For those looking at a mindset shift, Design Thinking will be an immersive threehour workshop in which participants can learn and practice an end-to-end Design Thinking process. Industry experts, Peter Aylett and Rich Green will be guiding attendees through the session, providing the tools integrators need to unlock creative confidence and bring a more human-centric approach into their business.

Talking of business, respected industry business consultant and CEDIA Fellow, Leslie Shiner, is back by popular demand with a series of four courses, exploring challenges with project management, job costing, way to increase profitability and how training can grow your business.

Finally, the CEDIA Tech Council will also lead a special session, revealing insights from CEDIA’s future-looking project, The Integrator of 2027. This will take a look at how the market is changing and how integrators can be best placed to take advantage of the opportunities ahead.

The CEDIA All Access Training Pass is available to both CEDIA members and nonmembers and provides unlimited entry to CEDIA education sessions during the show (excluding CEDIA Special Four Day and Two Day Courses). For more information, to buy an All-Access Pass, and to make your booking, go to the Professional Development section of the ISE website, www.iseurope.org/cedia-education.

Meanwhile, our investment in CEDIA’s online education is substantial. The CEDIA Academy continues to represent a huge step forward in our online curriculum, offering both technical and business focused courses for integrators at a variety of career levels. To support our members, we have made 200 hours of our CEDIA Academy content available as a free resource. The learning insights available on this platform are huge and I would urge you to take a deeper dive and explore what’s there to benefit you and your business.
