DIESELS ON THE RISE

DIESELS ON THE RISE Diesel sales are starting to see a rising trend in the US markets. In the first 6 months of 2012, diesel vehicles sales were up 27.5%. While the total makeup on the road still lies around 3% nationwide, the growth is not going unnoticed by automakers. Many European offerings have been available for years, but many new economy models, often seen overseas, are being made available state-side. With more rewarding incentives for alternative fuels and demands for more economical mileage solutions, diesel is expected to makes its way into nearly 1 million vehicles on the road by 2018. Vehicle sizes range from a new Cruize from Chevrolet, to a new Transit commercial van from Ford in 2013. With the slow increase in sales, it is important to remember how changing a fuel filter is crucial to maintenance periods over their gasoline driven siblings. Knowing these intervals is the difference in running smooth on the road or broken down on the shoulder lanes.

A/C REPAIR: HOW A CABIN AIR CHECK CAN SAVE BIG Cabin air filters are an evergrowing segment since introduced to consumer vehicles in the 1980’s. Beyond cleaning the air, freshing the cabin of odors, and killing some airborne bacteria they play a key role in keeping the A/C evaporator clean and functioning. A shocking Babcox media survey showed only around 38% of shops stock cabin air filters. If the smaller particles of dirt and residue are not trapped then its possible for the system’s cooling abilities to be reduced. When seeing A/C troubles or performance reductions, a simple check of a cabin air filter can save lots of money on repair diagnosis and add a cleaner scent to the air.

CUSTOMERS WANT AND DESERVE THE BEST FOR THEIR VEHICLE AND BUSINESS

PROTECTING THE PERFORMANCE AND LIFE OF YOUR VEHICLE For every gallon of fuel used in today’s engines it takes approximately 10,000 gallons of air. Both the fuel system and the air intake system must protect the engine from contaminants that can adversely affect performance and potentially the life of an engine. Proper filtration provides a necessary layer of protection for the air intake and fuel systems by capturing and holding the various containments that are always present in the air and even in refined fuels. Air flow, fuel delivery, and many other functions of today’s engines are computer controlled. Vast arrays of sensors

ENGINE AIR FILTER FEATURES Value Advantage panel air filters provide excellent engine protection for normal and severe driving conditions such as: •

constantly monitor engine performance feeding information back to these computers. This constant feedback allows the engine’s running parameters to be adjusted for maximized fuel economy and the reduction of engine emissions. Value Advantage Filters work with your vehicle’s systems to ensure that both clean air and clean fuel are available to your engine. Enhance your driving experience with the protection, performance, and value with Nissan Value Advantage Filters

A filter’s performance begins with a great filter media. An air filter must allow large volumes of air to reach the engine while it also effectively removes airborne contaminates. Nissan Value Advantage air filters provide excellent engine protection for both normal and severe driving conditions. Technologies such as phenolic resins, fiber blended media, and expanded metal are used to ensure Nissan’s performance requirements for both filter efficiency and capacity are met. The media in the filters are engineered to be more resistant to moisture and the climatic temperature extremes associated with normal and severe vehicle operation. Materials such as polyurethane sealing provides the perfect balance of malleability and tear- strength protection; which allows for a trouble free installation and fit. Expanded metal reinforcement is also provided for some filter constructions in order to meet the stress and durability requirements imposed by high performance applications.

FUEL FILTERS Deposits such as dirt, rust, scale, and water are just some of the major impurities that can be present in fuel. These contaminants can plug injectors causing engine malfunctions and deterioration of the fuel system. Clean fuel delivery is a must for every vehicle. A Nissan Value Advantage fuel filter is the right design to provide high efficiency flow with better fuel cleaning performance for every Nissan vehicle. For a long and trouble-free fuel system performance, look no further than a Nissan Value Advantage fuel filter.
