DONORS HIT THE GREENS FOR HOSPICE CARE AT ATRIUM HEALTH

Thanks to strong local sponsors and golfers, Hospice of Anson County, Hospice of Union County, and Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County benefitted from two annual golf tournaments. These vital patient and family support organizations have served residents of Anson, Cabarrus, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly and Union counties for over 30 years.

The 25th Annual Hospice of Union County Golf Tournament presented by Greater Charlotte Automotive Dealers, Inc. and Griffin Motor Company raised over $127,000. To date, the tournament has raised $2.3 million.

The 11th Annual Golf for Hospice Tournament, presented by Ike’s Construction, Inc. raised nearly $74,000 to benefit Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County programs. Since 2010, the tournament has raised more than $423,000.

Proceeds from the annual golfing events ensure that compassionate care is provided to those nearing the end of life, and that patients feel as comfortable as possible –physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

GRATEFUL FAMILIES FIND HEALING IN HOSPICE

Grateful for the care their loved one, Dorothy, received at Hospice of Union County, local resident Scott Richardson and his family recently donated $20,000 to the agency. Similarly, Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County benefited from a sponsorship of the 2021 golf tournament from Patricia Scott, whose husband received care from the agency in his final days.

HOSPICE CARE MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR MY HUSBAND TO SPEND HIS LAST DAYS AT HOME. FOR THAT, I AM FOREVER GRATEFUL. OUR TIME WITH HOSPICE WAS SHORT, BUT I TRULY BELIEVE THAT HOSPICE MADE A DIFFERENCE IN MY HUSBAND’S LAST HOURS AND MADE IT EASIER FOR ME TO DEAL WITH MY LOSS. COMPASSIONATE, END-OF-LIFE CARE IS A GIFT. ”
