Highlights: lake view Level of difficulty: average Description: Starting point is the information pavilion in the center of the village Berg. You can leave your car at the roadside. Follow the road towards the mountain “Buchberg” until you see a small gathering of houses. If you reach the crossing, turn left and head to the wood. At the water supply tank you turn left. At the next divergence you’ll see a sign “Rundweg Buchberg” but you stay on the forest road until you reach the branch-off into the wood. The red and white marks on the trees will lead you to the next forest road. Cross the road into the wood and also walk over the unique Buchberg meadow until you get to the “Jagastüberl”. Enjoy the magnificent view over the lake Attersee and the scenery of Attergau. You can walk the same way down or follow the forest road on the left side after passing the Jagastüberl. Description: Fancy a beautiful church at the end of the Way of the Cross? Then let’s walk the Kalvarienberg. Start at the municipality of St. Georgen and turn right after the pharmacy. Stick left and follow the road until you get to the main road (behind the Billa supermarket). Turn right and after 30m you reach the first station of the Way of the Cross.
St. Georgen – Attersee Starting Point: Tourist Information St. Georgen Duration: 1 hr / Length: 4 km Highlights: lake Attersee, local railway Level of difficulty: easy Description: If you want to take a nice walk to the lake, then this walk will be your best possibility. Start at the Tourist Information, turn right after the pharmacy and keep left. At the crossing Wildenhagerstraße turn right and pass the sports ground. After the sports ground keep left towards the little village Lohen (not Thern). Follow the road and walk straight ahead towards Palmsdorf. Then walk along the rails to the lake.
Appropriate for: Families, Ebikes, road biker Description: Start at the Tourist Information St. Georgen, then take the second exit at the roundabout and follow the road to Aumühle and Reichenthalheim. The journey leads you through the little village Haid to Vöcklamarkt (please shift your bike through the passage underground at the train station). After you pass the historical Haushamer Feld you reach Pfaffing and after that you see Ziegelhaid. The next stations are Außerreith and Fornach. Go on to the villages Doppelmühle, Piereth and Pointen before you reach Frankenmarkt. There you have to follow the main street for a short distance before you turn left to Weißenkirchen. After a steep hill you reach Weißenkirchen. While heading to the villages Hölleiten, Röth, Pössing and Thanham give yourself some time to enjoy the beautiful scenery around you before getting to the next hill called “Koglberg”. At the end of the hill you get to Thalham, Bergham and Straß. The way over Buch and Lohen leads you back to your starting point in St. Georgen. R100 can be cycled in both directions. Mix it! You have several possibilities to cycle the R100 – for example take R100a (short cut from Frankenmarkt to Koglberg) or R100b. There also exists an extension of the R100 – it is called R101 to Oberwang – very beautiful! Along the R100 there are many guesthouses and inns where to take a break, sip a nice cold beer and get something to eat.

Celtic Tree Path (Keltenbaumweg) Starting Point: parking “Keltenbaumweg” at the roundabout Kogl, St. Georgen Duration: 1.5 hrs / Length: 2.5 km Highlights: nature walk about the Celts, viewing point “Vogl-Anna-Platzl”, House of the Celts Level of difficulty: Easy Description: The Celtic Tree Path – a place where kids and their parents relearn to sense and experience nature and history. Imaginatively designed adventure stations and fun points invite you to turn back time and get in touch with ancient times. Wayfarers experience nature in a creative way and additionally get to know interesting facts and trivia about the life of the Celts. The heritage trail, with a length of 2,5 km leads you to the alley of hill Koglberg, to adventure points, biotopes, beautiful panoramic views and resting places on the wayside. During your tour, you will pass nine different adventure stations, spotlighting a bygone area and answering many questions: - Who were the Celts? - The importance of salt and iron - The structure of society - Sacred trees – holy creatures - The fashionable Celts - Traces to the islands - Feasts and festivities - Housing in the Iron Age - Sowing and harvest - The believe of the Celts Information at the stations are in German only. Explore the fascination of glass, the beauty of nature and furthermore the history of a village… Description: We start at the Museum of Glass in Weißenkirchen where we get an impression of the wide range of products that were made at the former “Glashütte Freudenthal” until 1942. The tour, which is approximately 2,5 km long, is organized into six main themes from the magic of glass to the interaction of nature and medicine. Children may love the several action spots such as the turned around aquarium, the rainbow house or the dragonfly swing. The Valley of Glass is expecting you with its seasonable charm changing like the landscape in which it is embedded. Description: The starting point is the car park at the pet obedience school in Thalham. Turn left and follow the main road towards Lichtenberg. Keep left at the crossing Lichtenberg-Klauswald and follow the gravel road for about 2.5 km until you reach the “Hubert-Gantioler-Weg” where you turn right up the hill. At the end of the “Hubert-GantiolerWeg” you cross the forest road and trail along at the edge of the wood. You also pass a game reserve before you reach the small village Lichtenberg. Pass the guesthouse Danter and follow the main road into the forest, where you can make a short side trip to the observation tower. Otherwise go along the main road until you see a forest road on the left side. Turn left and after 800 meters turn right. You will get to the village “Kogl” where you stick to the right and follow the main road until you get back to the starting point. Where to take a break? Highlights: Platform next to the chapel Level of difficulty: Average Description: Before you start at the chapel, take a deep breath and enjoy the view over the Attergau and lake Attersee. Turn right onto the main road and after 10 meters turn left. This road leads to a meadow path. At the edge of the forest you take the path to your right. Afterwards turn left into a small wood until you get to the main road where you turn right. When you see the first crossing turn left and follow the forest road until you get to the path called “Hofer”. There you get the opportunity to shortcut the tour if you follow the signs “2b Kronbergkapelle”. Otherwise keep on the left side and walk along the forest road until you see the next junction where you turn right. Follow the road and get back to the starting point. Where to take a break? Description Starting point is the car park at Hotel Irmgard. Go to the asphalt road, turn left and walk up the hill. Then follow the forest road towards “Wienerroith”. At the crossing Wienerroith-Neuwegstüberl you turn right and follow an asphalt street. If you reach “Neuwegstüberl” you constantly walk 4 km within the Wild Boar Park towards Auwald. After reaching Auwald you leave the wild boar area. Please keep right for about 300 meters and head for the village Straß. Then you will see a small path called Roiss-Roith where you turn right towards the houses. After you reach the houses turn left into a field path. This path leads you directly to the forest. Walk through the forest for about 5 minutes. Afterwards you will find yourself at the edge of the forest on a field path again. Follow the field path until you can see the farm house Wimmer, house number 24. After the farm turn left and walk to the state road crossing. Turn right and you will pass the fire brigade, turn right again and get back to the starting point. If you want to short cut the tour then follow the signs “3a Auwald” and you get directly to Straß.
