ZOSTEL

International Tourism Hostel Design Location Area

: Chandanpur, Odisha, India : 3300 m2

INTRO: International tourism hostel designs create unique hospitality and innovative lodging concepts, creating that special place, where travellers feel at ease, and don’t want to leave anymore. Our mission is to take people on a journey of imagination and comfort by putting life into spaces. Each project requires its own identity and character, merging new ideas with local influences. The location of the hostel has been selected as Chandanpur, which acts as the transport hub and main junction before reaching various art villages around. It is just 10kms from Puri and is hence the perfect location for tourists seeking a more authentic experience. The people staying there would like to explore the art villages around apart from using the training institute.

A.N.D.C.- Annual NASA Design Competition:

One set of places and people in India that have missed out on the fruits of modernity on account of advancement in science, technology, economy and society are the rural settlements--- as many as 6.30 lakhs--- and the villagers -–some 900 million people. Not only has the rural economy stagnated, the character of the rural habitat has declined considerably, despite investment in infrastructure. Our aim was to promote agriculture in inglun(selected location) as the village was agriculture oriented place. So we planned to design a agrotourism center for the village for the visitors who often comes for bike riding.

23

Learnings: •Team Work and co-ordination with people. •Leadership •Critical Thinking Skill. •Exposure which otherwise be impossible from regular academics. •SItuation Handeling.
