Enjoy The Festive Season Of Diwali In Varanasi: The Holy Town Of India Diwali is one of the most important and most celebrated festival among Hindus. It is festival of lights, sweets, shopping, prosperity, knowledge, and world-brotherhood. The festival is a five days long festival and is celebrated between the months of mid-October and mid-November. As the festival nears, the excitement of the festival reaches its peak. This is the only festival that everyone waits so eagerly; one big reason behind this fact is its length, that is the number of days the festival is celebrated. Besides that, this is the festival when most of the goods in the market becomes cheap. Many companies offer discounts and provide various attractive deals and offers. This is the festival when people do most of their shopping. They clean, renovate, and decorate their homes and wear their best and new outfits.

Usually, in most of the scenario, people celebrate Diwali with their families in their homes. They start with worshipping Goddess Lakshmi – the Hindu goddess of wealth and prosperity and then lighting up the whole house with diyas and lights. People then exchange sweets and gifts with their close ones and then visit each others house.


However, this is how most of the people celebrate Diwali, which can sometime become mundane in some way or other. It is 320 km from Lucknow (another popular tourist destination), 121 km from Allahabad, and 797 km from New Delhi. Irrespective of the big variation in the temperature the city is always crowded by the pilgrims, devotees, and tourists. Since the city has the spiritual message harmony and faith in God attached to it, so the city is one of the best destination to celebrate Diwali. Celebrating the festival in Varanasi is unique and different in some ways. For example, on each single day of Diwali festival the steps of Varanasi Ghats which leads to Ganges river, are lit up with thousands of earth lamps. Plus the lit up water of Ganges rive with floating lamp offerings are among the main attractions. On top it this, the daily age-long ritual of evening Ganga Aarti is another prime attraction of the town.
