His blessings gave the emperor 3 sons, as a gesture he built a whole new city that was supposed to be the joint capital of Mughals along with Agra. The city was named Fatehpur Sikri, meaning the City of Victory. However, the city soon got drained because of the insufficient water system and got lost as the time passed. For almost 400 years the city remained untouched by the outer world. But now, the city is one of the popular places to visit in India. There are several interesting-valuable historical monuments, structures, mosques etc. lying around. The couple of most important places to visit in Fatehpur Sikri are Diwan-i-Khas, Buland Darwaza, Tomb of Salim Chisti, Panch Mahal, Diwan-I-Am, The Treasury, Daulat khana-I-khas, Hawa Mahal And Nagina Masjid, Palace of Jodha Bai, The Jama Masjid, and Sunehra Makan. All of these places are the finest exhibits of Persian, Mughal, and Hindu architecture styles, and are simply a delight to the visitors.
