Kanha National Park is the home to the tigers, leopards and many more animals and birds. The largest national park of Madhya Pradesh, Kanha was created in 1955. It is an amazing experience to witness this tiger country. Well, spotting a tiger is not a difficult task, but yes, you need a guide to help you out with that. Leopards, deers (chital), monkeys, blue


bulls, Indian bisons, wild boars, wild dogs, etc. -- Kanha is the home to all these animals. Kanha is one of the most popular national parks of our country. There was a fluctuation in tiger population in the recent years. After 1979, Kanha was taken under the Tiger Project with other reserves of the country. However, now there are approximately 131 tigers. Dense sal forests, meadows and wild bamboo in its region, Kanha is spread over 1,945 sq. km and the core area covers 940 sq. km. Kanha is also known as ‘Kipling Country’ as it inspired Rudyard Kipling to script the famous series of Jungle book. This park is an apt place for landscape photographers; the amazing scenic is worth capturing. The wild essence of both the flora and fauna is fantastic. The park has even reptilians too. During the monsoon, Kanha is closed to the visitors, other than that, any time you can visit the place and view different wild colours of nature.


Apart from this huge tiger reserve and the national park, there are few more places to visit in Kanha. Kipling Camp, Kanha Museum - which is located inside the park and has some excellent collection of natural history, Sagar Talab, Radha Krishna Mandir, Mandla Fort, etc. are some very popular places to visit near Kanha National Park.

One should not miss the open-jeep safari that it is the best way to spot flora and fauna inside the park. The lush nature is truly an explorer’s paradise.
