ANNUAL GIVING

How can I make a difference?

A Tradition of Excellence

For more than 145 years, Auburn University has been known for producing some of the nation’s most talented engineers. While the college has grown and changed in monumental ways, the characteristics of an Auburn engineer remain steadfast. Possessing a strong work ethic and fierce desire to succeed, Auburn’s engineers are innovative thinkers and dynamic leaders. And, they are generous – with a deep commitment to give back to Auburn and the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering to continue the college’s strong tradition of excellence for future generations. Philanthropic investments from our alumni provide the bedrock upon which we maintain our success, allowing us to recruit the brightest students, retain the best faculty, build state-of-the-art learning spaces and offer world-class programs. More specifically, private gifts made through our Annual Giving Program enable the college to enhance the engineering student experience and ensure our graduates are exceedingly prepared for the challenges they will meet in their professional careers beyond graduation.

The Significance of Each Gift

As all Auburn engineers know, teamwork and a unified approach often produce phenomenal results. The Samuel Ginn College of Engineering’s Annual Giving Program is a great example of this premise in action by providing an opportunity to contribute annually to provide vital resources that ensure the quality of our programs and the college’s success. These gifts can be designated for a particular department, program or project, or they can remain unrestricted to be used at the discretion of the dean. Annual giving from loyal engineering alumni and friends averages nearly $6 million per year from approximately 3,200 donors, proving that every gift – no matter the size – has tremendous impact when we work together to achieve a common goal.

How You Can Help

As a student, you likely benefited from an annual gift made by a benevolent engineering alumnus or friend of the college. Whether it was a program in which you were involved or a well-equipped, state-of-the-art laboratory where you learned, annual giving touches every aspect of the student experience. Together, we can enhance that student experience for future engineers and continue the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering’s tradition of excellence. Please join us and invest through our Annual Giving Program.

Emily Traylor, a 2010 wireless software graduate, knows firsthand the important role private giving plays in the student experience. Traylor, who benefited from scholarships when she was a student, chose to invest in scholarships as an alumna. For Traylor, giving to the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering became a priority shortly after graduation. “Giving back allows me to pay it forward and remain actively involved in the success of current and future Auburn students.”

Engineering Eagles

Eagles are a group of loyal alumni and friends whose gifts to the college help elevate Auburn Engineering to new heights. Eagles donors support the college through an investment of $1,000 or more annually ($500 or more annually for graduates who are less than 10 years out of college). Our Eagles receive a special memento to recognize their leadership level of giving. They also receive invitations to special events held throughout the year and the opportunity to participate in a lottery to purchase advanced football parking.
