Daley Productions ft Kathy September Got What You Want ADAP Records

Daley Productions is a 25 Year old Underground Producer, Writer and Recording Artist based in Hertfordshire/North London. Started DJing and producing at the age of 14 and started writing and MCing at the age of 15. Ventured through life in music exploring and working with different genres and artists, working with R&B, Urban, Hip-Hop-UK Rap, Pop, Comercial, Grime and House & Garage with alot of interest in the sounds of old and new. This is his first release on ADAP Records. Kathy September provides the vocals to compliment this house track to give it the perfect combination for a superb summer song. Remixes provided by Solo Suspex who have done 2 remixes, a bass heavy Garage mix and 4x4 mix, GTE provides the dub mix whilst Huggy provides the final remix in this package. A light funky track with the simple touch of the celeste for the melody. The vocals, WOW. Sexy, sultry, feminine yet deep sounding, just gorgeous. And then the bass comes in, giving it a rounded sound with little changes in melodies, slight twists and intriguing notes. Solo suspex 4x4 remix, kicks in straight away with the pumping beat, this is given a whole new feel with the elements played about with, making it more vibrant & energetic. Solo suspex remix, a little bit of a fiesta feel with the different sounds and beats to start, and then the deep dark bass enters! GTE dub edit, a more chilled house tone, with a lot of bouncyness in the beats, And then hits the bass, still funky just with a darker edge and the vocal snippets giving it a sweeter touch. I really love this release as every sound is so creatively different and just keeps pulling at you and interesting you with twists and turns, even with the remixes give the track completely different atmoshperes. You think it's going one way and then bam, a whole new sound slaps you in the face and there's a totally new direction!

DJ Wad & Shad - Sun In Sand The project started as a deep house track with a deep organ bassline. It had a great sound, however with no breakdown. The process of creating the breakdown began methodically, it then came to have more of a Trance feel, rather than house. The initiative was then taken, to turn it into a Trance track, as the lead melody was so inspiring. Elements were twisted, and emotion added for the extra oomph & Trancey atmosphere. Once completed, the track needed the perfect name, Sun In Sand, to fit the surrounding beauty of the Mauritian beaches & coastline. The release also includes remixes from Michel Dogniaux, MNK & Milen. “A melancholy melody I immediately liked, the song inspired me a lot.” Michel Dogniaux “My first thought, wow this melody has something in it and a remix started building in my head, and trust me that feeling was incredible. I wanted to make an anthem.” MNK “I love the melody so was really happy to do the remix! Usually I wanted to produce a remix that still has the melody idea from the original, but has a completely different atmosphere. So I decided to make a Progressive House remix with piano elements, progressive plucks, airy vocals and an energetic refrain!” Milen “Every track I make has a deep history within itself and the 'Sun in Sand' remix was made for the reason of an epic melody, amazing chord work and uplifting feelings.” TerraNation

Little Nikki ft DJ S.K.T Right before my eyes

The main theme of the brand new video is, of course, music and why not, because that is what it's all about The brilliant creation from S.K.T in the studio and the gorgeous Little Nikki singing her heart out. I really cannot keep my body still listening to an S.K.T track, and the fabulously styled movers & shakers in the video seem to agree! Given the slight touches of the oldschool, vinyl is the way, the sounds of fm radio tuning at the start and the track pulled down at the end to finish it off nicely. Great movement effects, nice pace to fit the track, and overall the video just works really well. Sweet vocals and that bumpy touch to reimburse a classic.

Perry Porter & Paolo Escobar Home Of The Mighty "After a year of working with film and production, Spekulation is back on the mic with his upcoming release of “Home Of The Mighty.” The song features a 20-piece horn section performing over a synth-driven, West Coast rap instrumental that pays homage to the Northwest’s varied musical history. The powerful and perfectly pieced production is no surprise effort from Spekulation, who spent the last year scoring for the short film Enemy Within, an official selection at the Cinedans International Film Festival, and promoting his instrumental album, Doc Watson. “Home Of The Mighty” also features up-and-coming emcee Perry Porter and vocals by Paolo Escobar. The song is a follow-up to his hit song “Bout That Action,” which Pitchfork described as “probably the best song I’ve heard in 2014” in their Mixdown feature. The instrumental received over 200,000 plays. Then, Prometheus Brown of hip hop duo Blue Scholars picked it up and the song “This Ain’t A Seahawks Anthem” took over the city during Super Bowl. It’s clear that Spekulation is a Northwest gem, “Home Of The Mighty” is an inside perspective on where he and his collaborators work and play. For this track we go for a bit of west coast hip-hop, delving into a bit of the local talent here In Seattle. I recently had the chance to catch up to the key players: What was the inspiration behind the track? SPEKULATION: The Northwest has had a great year, with gay marriage, socialists being elected to the Seattle city council, marijuana legalization, the Seahawks winning the Superbowl, Macklemore collecting hella Grammies... So Nate Omdal (the composer and instrumental arranger) and I started working on the instrumental with that in mind, trying to build something that captured the confidence we felt in the city at that moment, but also something that paid tribute to a lot of the traditions of Northwest music. We knew we wanted someone with a voice powerful enough to rival those horns, so we asked Paolo to get on the hook, and I'd heard Perry do great work with Big Band-sounding material before so I wanted to push him a little more in that direction and he was kind enough to oblige.

14

www.AudiationMagazine.com

PAOLO: Spek had the title "The Mighty" on the track he sent me, so when we sat down to meet about the hook we decided to highlight how great of a town we live in, and how dope the people coming out of Seattle are by writing about it, "welcome to the home of the mighty!" PERRY: The northwest is killing shit right, but I wanted to let people know there's more going on in the state than just Seattle. Swayside 'til I die. How did you all meet? Had you worked together before? SPEKULATION: About a week before Paolo and I met, I was talking with Nate Omdal about the hook, saying we needed to find a local soul singer with that classically smokey voice, and how few people sang like that anymore. I work at a cafe on the weekends, and one day Paolo's in there drinking coffee, and he pulls out his guitar and starts playing while I'm closing up shop. It was the first time I'd heard him sing. We met up and recorded Home Of The Mighty a couple weeks later. There's a band in town called Theoretics, they do live-band-hiphop stuff, and Perry and I both performed on a show with them last year, which was the first time we met. I was impressed that night by Perry's stage presence and ability to hold his own with a live band. He uses a lot of complicated rhythms and patterns in his verses, but none of that was lost in the transition to the live band. He released Kings Only shortly after that, at which point I was convinced he was in line for the top spot out here. PAOLO: I met Spekulation at The Station cafe in Beacon Hill. I have a tendency to bring my guitar with me everywhere I go, and as Spek was doing his barista thing I started singing and after struck up a conversation on doing a track together. My expectation was that it was all talk, as per my experience with a ton of producers before, that we'd chat about tracking but never actually do it. But about a week later we met up, recorded the demo, and a week or so after finished recording my vocals at the studio he works at. Winner! I had never actually met Perry until well after the song was done, but looking back I'm pretty sure he had stopped by the sandwich shop I work at before (Beacon Ave Sandwiches) so he looked familiar. Small city this is! PERRY : I meet Speks thru The Theoretics. We were dubbed the soft voice guys so we already had something in common. He didnt look like the avg rapper and he had the craziest laugh, bruh... then I heard him rap and was like, "Yo this guy is good. Bobby Hill can rap"

15

What was the most complicated part of completing the track? SPEKULATION; Nate and I tracked 20 horn parts for this song, and we did it in groups of 1 to 3 people at a time, so the most complicated part of this track on my end was figuring out how to handle that many moving parts, from scheduling to mixing. Most of the horns were recorded in the studio, but a few were recorded in living rooms and closets around Seattle. I had also never mixed that many horns before, so that was a fun learning experience. Luckily we recorded some of the city's most talented players, so I had a lot of freedom in terms of how I could mix it and how far I could experiment. I ended up mixing the horns on the Introduction in stereo, and the horns in Home Of The Mighty in mono. It makes a huge difference that no one will ever notice. PAOLO: For me it was trying to stretch my range a little and figuring out what would sound proper with the track. Also there was a line that we couldn't seem to settle on until we finally got in the booth, but other than that it was super easy to work with these guys and I would live to do work again real soon! PERRY: Man. Look. I had the easiest part, I was chillin' haha What is your favorite thing about living in the northwest? SPEKULATION: The creative culture here has achieved a great balance in the last few years. It's very accepting of crossing genres, experimenting and learning...but we've also learned to hold each other accountable for getting better at our crafts. There's a lot of talent here, and we're walking that fine line between competition and collaboration. PAOLO: Definitely the weather, we don't have none of this goodness back in Chicago. Also the people are kinda cool too sometimes :-) PERRY: It's a free for all. There's no rules 'round here, bruh bruh. Everybody does what they want when they want to. Welcome to the home of wierdos. (Singing) Any advice for aspiring artists? SPEKULATION: Just make it happen. Whatever it is that you want to do, make it happen. And if you can't make it happen, get as close as you possibly can, and then try again. Very few people are really going to help create your vision, so treasure those people who are down, but ultimately it's really simple...you've just gotta make it happen. PAOLO: Keep pushing, I know I will! PERRY: Do what you want. Art is subjective and people are fickle. Burnie - Deeper Reality EP [SLM114

Slime welcomes back to the label the Macau-based producer Burnie. After releasing his debut on the imprint last year with the sublime ‘Atlantic’, he immediately began work on a sophomore effort for us. With a unique style all his own and full of invention, Burnie’s music constantly surprises and delights the listener. Here he returns with‘Deeper Reality’, which has house music at its core but twisted into bold new forms. ‘Neon Night’ immediately goes for the jugular with a jacking groove wrapped around a set of classic warehouse sounds. Joyful keys rub up against an acidic undertow, with a serpentine bass pulse adding swing to proceedings. Across its lifespan the track mutates through turbo-charged electro interludes, subtle string crescendos and much more without ever losing sight of the irresistible groove. ‘Deeper Reality’ adapts the template of the former track into a shuffling garage hybrid, replete with low-frequency bass stabs and soulful female vocals. Percussion percolates through the mix as smooth chords draw the beat out into a dancefloor thriller. ‘Acid Chronicle’ comes to life with a stuttering rhythm and bubbling acid lines packed to the brim with machine funk. Glittering bleeps and mischievous scifi samples punctuate the beat and drive the track along with ample amounts of swing. ‘Sea Palace’ merges acid overtones with smooth house with impressive results. Echoing vocals interplay with soulful Rhodes as the skipping beat provides the bump and flex, delivering a perfect culmination to the release.

The beautiful Leanne emerges from the woods in purest white. Look into her eyes to reveal a deeper darker vivid red hue, which accompanies the track's drop perfectly. Some literal imagery with the hands tied, the track signifies beauty, love and pain, the video simply outlines this nicely. Just before the break we see her escape with the help of Pawz. A variety of intriguing shots and colour effects used to mirror the different atmospheres in the song nicely.

Dista is an oldschool Speed Garage Producer/Dj and founder of vinyl label Dyslecsic records, and digital label Urban Sprawl. “I'm running an oldschool '98 style Speed Garage label from up north in Sheffield. The Double 99, Gunman, bass heavy stuff was a big thing up here in the late 90s and never really went away, growing into Bassline House and 4x4. However it got too moody and dark - and in around 2007, everything got shut down because of trouble in the clubs. It's a recurring problem that the Garage scene has always had, imploding on itself every few years, and reinventing itself as a consequence. However, For me, the golden era of bass heavy, warping speed garage was too short and could have been explored more - so that's what I'm trying to do with the label - recreating and reinventing the original '98 sound pioneered by the likes of Jeremy Sylvester, Todd Terry and Armand Van Heldon. The label is run from a private group on Facebook, with over 100 Djs, producers, vocalists and promoters from all over the world working together to reinstate the sound.” “Our first major release “Speed Garage Snipers” (Released 6th July) - is a perfect example of what the Sprawl is about. Featuring 16 unmixed tracks sourced from the UK, Poland, Russia and Ukraine – where producers are actually working together despite the trouble that might be going on trying to divide them. Another massive favourite of ours with the Audiation crew is Keisza, After the worldwide smash of Hide away , Kiesza is back with a killer new track - called Giant in my heart, Slightly more in a deep house vein than hideaway But this really grows on you after a few listens, Probably Heading straight for the top of the Uk pop charts when its relesed, Im not sure who is behind the production on this but the baseline sound and a few other elements really reminds me of SubFocus “ Turn Back Time” Which is not a bad thing as that was one of my favourite tracks earlier this year, This girl Kiesza has really got something and is going to be a big pop star in her own right… Im really looking to her album that I’m sure is on the horizon. Probably the most original track out there i can find at the moment and sounding totally different from his previous outings like "if u got it" is the funky nu-disco song by Chris Malinchak , Feat milky Ekko called Stranger, This guy is very versatile and is not afraid to try different styles and grooves, Talent at its best,

Another great house track I came across recently is, Kolsch - “Cassiopeia” Beautiful old school piano riff and awesome strings by Classical Composer Gregor Scwellenbach, Gorgeous track to listen to on a lazy sunday afternoon, Or bar house pre club. On a bit more of a Deep house vibe , We have the Amazing track by Dusky Called “Love Taking Over” A very sulty summer deep house track this one, Very Emotive Strings and awesome driving beats, With A love Taking over Vocal Snippet vocal’s. Probably one of the biggest deep house tracks around at the moment, Is Hot Natured - “ Benediction” Im really liking the ( Grades Remix ) of this one, Lovely Rhodes chords soulful male vocals and a cracking deep baseline to boot..

27

Duke Dumont is back with a slamming new house new track called “Won't look back” This Kicks of with a nice progression using the classic m1 piano house sound, The Female vocal has a diva- ish old school vocal style to it, reminesnt of black box “Ride on Time” after the piano it Then Kicks into A garage/deep house baseline for the verses, before dropping back into the m1 piano in the choruses, it really grows on you after a few listens and is heading for the UK pop charts when released on the 24th of August.. On a more Roland 303 acid house vibe there is an awesome remix out by one of my favourite producers “Dennis Ferrer” called Sights By London Grammer, Dennis has captured a really old school acid house 90’s vibe on this and i can imagine is going to be big at festivals playing the more retro house vibe this summer. A great remix by Joris Voorn I came across, Lykke li-" no rest for the wicked” , kind of deep chilled house, i really love Lykke li’s voice but what Joris has done with this is major Quality.. A definite must check out;-) A killer full on disco track coming soon on Spinnin Records is we are super stars by “ID", really funky vibe with Vocoders that reminds me of early daft punk , Which can never be a bad thing. A track I’m really feeling on the funky deep house vibe right now with a smashing female vocal and old school italo piano riff is "Higher Ground" by Artist Blonde, Coming out on the 14th August onFFRR records, I love deep house tracks with female style R&B vocal, And this is a top tune without a doubt. On A similer vibe with R&B style vocals is "we are" , Feat melissa steal, by Artist Kove, This is quite an uptempo track with old school rave breakbeats and italo house piano’s again, and great string stab chords… gorgeous vocal by this girl.. Released 14th July on MTA records, It Will be Big this one for sure. Other notable tracks well worthy of a mention of which two are on Anjunadeep, they have a great deep house track coming by Croquet Club Called “ The Jacuzzi EP”. https://soundcloud.com/blondesound/blonde-higher-ground-feat-charli-taft

ubicolor call “Next Planet” which is on a more Chilled House vibe also on Anjuna Deep Redlight "Cure Me" out 17th August Mob Device in the Summer, A great chilled house track with vocal pitched chops and a gorgeous groove, Thats out now on Nuit Blanch records. Also a total blissed out summer winner is Electric Religion by “Framewerk. thats been around for a while but just started to get the recognition it deserves. On A more EDM vibe there is a great Axwell Remix of Hook and slings “Tokyo By Night” I can imagine this being one of the biggest tracks at the Festivals this summer, Totally great melody and kicking groove. Mendoza- Love Druggie ( Jeremy Orlander Remix ), This builds and builds in a great melodic Progressive blissed out house track, Another along the same vibe is The Touch by “Grum” And If you love your Eric Prydz type progressive house, One to watch is "Somebody like me" by Meron ,Coming out on spinnin on July the 14th. A great remix of one of my fav tracks this year is the Tiesto remix of Chris Lake Helium, Still prefer the original but for the more EDM/trance folk out there this is a sure fire winner. Another huge summer Festival track is Nicky Romero & Anuok - “Feet On the Ground” this is a pretty Original track mainly down to the killer rocky style vocal, its a bit of a classic if you like your more full on EDM drop stuff. A couple of Tracks I mentioned last week, FCL- Its you ( Feel the Heat) is now signed to Defected Records with a great new ( Gotsome Heat Remix ) and lots of other cool remixe. Also congratulations to the Uk’s Ella Henderson of getting to no1 in the UK pop charts with her first single Ghost ( As i Predicted;) some great house and nu disco remixes on this around too. A coupleI think that could hit the pop charts in the near future apart from the Kiesza “Giant in my heart” is Francesco Rossi- “Godspeed you ( Rivaz Rework ) feat Ozark Henry, Its a Beautiful piano chilled house track this one. oud.com/dvisionr ecords/francesco-rossi-godspe-you-rivaz-rework-feat-ozark-henry with her first single Ghost ( As i Predicted;) some great house and nu disco remixes on this around too https://soundcloud.com/nickraymondg/ella-henderson-ghost-oliver-nelson-remix 29

Probably My Favorite track Around at the moment and again heading for the UK Charts is Gorgon City _”Here for you, Feat Laura Welsh, Love the vocal on this, for me the best vocal iv heard on a house track in a a long while. As mentioned last month, Oliver Heldens “Gecko" now has a vocal courtesy of The Voice Uk contested Becky Hill, Has just hit no1 in the UK pop charts. And we can’t leave with out mentioning the fantastic track By Cazzete called “Sleepless” I reviewed this last month but now its back with a full video, it's out now on iTunes so go grab a copy. ;-) Next month ill be back with my Artist feature, Which will include A Fresh DJ top ten and a bio from the fantastic House Producers, The Freemason’s… Please check there Soundcloud so you can hear whats coming next month;-) https://soundcloud.com/freemasons Stay Tuned…. JESS GLYNNE RIGHT HERE Jess Glynne has unveiled the video for her debut single ‘Right Here’, to be released by Atlantic Records on July 6th.

Being in possession of a fantastically distinctive vocal, you have no doubt already heard Jess Glynne on Clean Bandit’s classical-dance smash ‘Rather Be’ and Route 94’s #1 ‘My Love’ which both entered the charts at #1 earlier this year.

It is time however for Jess to introduce her own sound which is a distinguished mix of hip hop with a soul voice and enough pop to satisfy the wider audience she has already won over. Admitting herself that she takes huge inspiration from the likes of Aretha Franklin, Etta James and Lauryn Hill, she also has identified her influences to come from more current artists such as Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Frank Ocean.

Combining all of these sounds, Jess’s first solo offering comes in the form of new single ‘Right Here’ produced by Gorgon City. Deftly demonstrating Jess’s skills as both a singularly impressive singer and songwriter but also a commander of the dance floor.

As well as working with Clean Bandit and Route 94, Jess’s talents have been called upon by a whole host of people including projects for Bless Beats, Rudimental and MNEK -focusing mainly on their music rather than her own up to this point. But that is all about the change - more recently, she has been in L.A, working with Switch (MIA, Beyonce) and Felix Snow (SZA Gyptian). The fruits of which will no doubt add to her signature sound and help shape her debut album – due out later this year.

"I wrote the song Run or Stay about 4 years ago. It's based on a girl who wasn't sure about being in a relationship. Should she run a mile? Or should she stay and make it work? Feeling really confused and unsure. I then took the demo to MNK to which he wrote the music around. I knew a few remixers who then were happy to remix. And here it is :-)" Michelle Hutcheson.

"When I heard the vocals and words I knew that this project would take some time and indeed, it was very focused on the melody. I wanted for the song to really have souls and handed the best word from Michelle Hutcheson as her voice is simply wonderful. I think we both worked hard on this project and it was really worth it!" MNK.

Jaimie ft Leah Lost - Loving Life

A feel good tune straight from the start, with sweet vocals and a summery atmosphere. A great progressive track, the main upbeat tune kicks in, and it will certainly get you moving. We should all be Loving Life this summer! "The inspiration for the track came to me straight away after hearing Jaimie's track. To me the track just needed some powerful vocals and a hot summer vibe and I just went with it. I began speaking with irish producer Jaimie online, we got on great and decided to collaborate musically. After receiving some very positive reviews from reliable and varied sources we decided to sell the track and see where it goes from there and so far we are pleased with the results. I am working very closely with some very talented producers at the moment and have exciting prospects on the horizon with a management company. I will continue to write and collaborate with various artists though whilst the plan of action comes together, so watch this space." Leah Lost.

When will the love begin? The lead in track for UK artist Danica Hunter’s debut EP ‘Lies & Butterflies’ asks this question as many do at some point in their lives. I much like most, do not have an answer. But I will bet that the love for Danica Hunter’s voice will begin shortly after you hear her soulful, sultry, slightly raspy (in the good way) vocals begin to belt out her first note. She definitely has the vocals that have the power to give one ‘tingles’ from head to toe.

The EP... 1. When Will The Love Begin? 2.Tattoo 3. Falling 4. Vanilla Sky 5. Anywhere *Released 22 June 2014* Something you will notice when hearing this ep is that each of the tracks take on a new life and showcase Danica's voice. Such a classically inviing and captivating soulful way about her. Loving the sultry retro vibe from this entire EP, love all of the tracks!

Just like the historic symbolism of the butterfly, Danica believes this EP represents a transformation/change for her. After having the opportunity to hear her new 5 track EP I was looking forward to interviewing her to find out more‌ When is the first time you recall music as something you wanted to do in a serious way? Since I was a little girl, I've always been involved in music whether it was in musical productions, singing competitions or just singing. I won my first singing competition when I was 7 years then another for writing a song when I was 12 years old. Of course, I was brought up with music at home which was a lot of 70/80's music. like Fleetwood Mac, Prince, Annie Lennox, Texas etc. A few years later I recorded covers of tracks by Oasis, Duffy, Madonna, Amy Winehouse, Lucie Silvas and others. I made some CDs and started handing them out to family and friends and everyone was like 'wow, is that really you?'

The realisation that I was serious about music was when I entered a national competition at 15 - you had to write your own stuff as well as doing a cover. I went to my room and wrote my first song 'Close Your Eyes'. I'm still proud of that track even now. Some friends made the video for it. I got on the radio and got into the local newspapers. I got to the finals at Indigo at the O2 Arena and I thought 'this is what I want to do for the rest of my life'

What is music to you? For me, music is a way of expressing yourself, letting go of emotions, and sharing i.e. letting other people know that they're not the only ones going through a certain situation. Music is also about being creative and experimental - you learn a lot about yourself when you express yourself through music and lyrics. Music means so much to me. What are your hopes for your music career for the next year? My hopes over the next year are to get as much exposure as possible and show people what I can really do. I just released my debut EP and have written nearly 60 songs. I want to get that stuff out there so that people can enjoy it and get a follow up EP out in 3-4 months time. Also I want to get more gigging and have a few festivals lined up for 2015 and to really just be discovering and exploring my style. This is going to be my break through year - I can feel it and I'm ready for it. So readers can get a more personal look into you, what are some if your favorite things to do with your spare time? In my spare time I love to chill out with my friends, try new things, go on adventures and I love the occasional beer or glass of rose wine. Favorite meal? Nothing beats a gourmet burger but a Nandos is a close second! What would you say has helped your career the most so far? So many things - being selected to play the BBC Introducing Stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals. Sharing the bill with Sting, Jools Holland and Lucy Spraggan. Being selected to go to the BBC Introducing Masterclass at Abbey Road Studios and getting up to sing acapella in front of Maverick Sabre and meeting my manager, at that time. More recently, being in the studio everyday, writing, recording, coming up with new ideas with lots of different producers. In the early stages I used to worry about how I could possibly write every day. but after two months straight in the studio I realised that I could do it and I was getting better and better. Any advice for other aspiring artists? Work hard, collaborate and don't be afraid to try different routes and styles. Don't expect anyone else to do it for you - you have to do it yourself - find people who believe in you. When you fall down, pick yourself up and move on. But most of all enjoy every moment - it's not all about getting to that big goal - it's about enjoying every step that takes you closer.

RiZa - Zuzwang / Sunday Mélange The first signings from Slovakia’s RiZa a.k.a. Richard Zagiba, whose previous releases on System, Stripped & Seta (no alliteration intended) have earned him a reputation as a solid techhouse producer. First up from this EP is ‘Zuzwang’ which combines a Chicago inspired bassline, vocal stutters, and heavily filtered sequencers with a positive spoken message. On the flip is ‘Sunday Mélange’ which harnesses and big sharp acidic bassline and metallic percussive elements and locks them into a tight immersive groove. The break features an LFO workout, which provides an ecstatic release when the groove returns. Masterful.

Pete Graham, Chris Lorenzo & Jamie George - Let Me Down Forward-thinking, bass-focused label Four40 Records continue their vein of rich form – off the back of the ground-breaking compilation ‘Hybrid Theory Presents: Four40 Volume 1’ – with a wonderfully astute collaboration consisting of Pete Graham, Chris Lorenzo and Jamie George.

With the trio already well acquainted, and each major musical players in their own right, the end result was only ever going to be captivating. The last 12 months have seen each individual reach new heights, with each artist’s sounds played on airways and dance floors up and down the UK [and beyond]. Churning out the most organic piece of house music so far this year – Pete and Chris offer up a strikingly debonair platform for Jamie to affix his smooth, reflective vocals over the top – presenting to us what is undoubtedly the sunset summer party starter in Let Me Down; bound to be heard from back yards to boat parties worldwide. Also featured on the release are remixes from Nu Era Bass and JD. Reid. Both artists make the track their own, offering up contrasting interpretations, tweaking the instrumental drastically whilst still making full use of the vocals flexibility. In this Jackal and Hyde presentation of remix tracks - Nu Era Bass jacks the beat up to heart-racing territory, crafted to get feet moving and brows sweating; whilst JD. Reid is bringing sexy back, using ambient sounds to swoon listeners, placing this track firmly on that playlist… www.four40records.co.uk

Locked On Records, known for breaking artists like The Streets, Artful Dodger & Zed Bias return with some incredibly fresh talent in the form of 16 year old producer Kyogi. Not Good Enough is a grooving garage tinged roller, with plenty of sub bass and delicate vocal flourishes giving it that lift into big hit territory. It's a slickly delivered track and with Annie Mac giving it a radio debut on her much renowned Radio One show, it seems we're not the only ones who believe Kyogi's got a big future ahead of him. t's a strong return for Locked On, who's history is littered with releases from the biggest names in garage. Alongside The Streets 'Original Pirate Material', they gave the world Zed Bias' 'Neighbourhood' to name but a few. After a prolonged hiatus they're back and looking to the future, building a talented roster of artists and starting with the a bang.

Mystery Skulls Ghost

www.mysteryskulls.com Mystery Skulls has been making his rounds across Los Angeles with his ability to insert life into any venue he performs at, opening for Flume at a sold out show at The Echo, acquiring a coveted residency at Bootleg Theatre, winning over the discerning crowd at Bardot’s “School Night” and playing with Chromeo, Avicii, Yeasayer and Chic on select dates. After seeing the one-man-dance-party bring the house down at Los Angeles' Brokechella Festival, the smitten staff at Warner Bros. Records' A&R department signed Dubuc in June of 2013. Dubuc is currently working on his debut album which will be a hybrid of dance music with soul vocals as evidenced by his first single ‘Ghost’. The album will feature a collaboration with another childhood-hero Nile Rodgers who recently contributed three tracks to Daft Punk’s recent LP, winning a “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” Grammy for their hit ‘Get Lucky’. On how feels about how his upcoming official debut fits into a world divided between DJ’s and bands, he explains: “I don’t know that I could even genrefy it now. My music is electronic and definitely dance, but it’s kind of funky and discoy. I’m not sure how I fit in yet because I don’t think there’s an exact blueprint, but I’m actively working on it and excited because it doesn’t really exist “Sometimes I show up at a dance club and start singing and people love it and other times I’ll show up at a dance club and I’ll clear the floor. So it’s really tricky. I’ve had both things happen and it’s interesting, it’s a real challenge but I’m proud of it.”
