AR15 Presents Wretch 32, Devlin, Rebecca Garton & Swiss Helpless (Produced by S.O.S) A compelling contrast between the urban vocals against the beautiful notes and sweeter vocals. #AR15 #ConcreteJungle is being kept under close guard and apart from two tracks, ‘Trapping Aint Dead’ and ‘Out In The Jungle’, that have made it to the internet, the project remains largely under wraps but amid the intrigue and suspense, from the teasers that have dropped so far and the feature list of over 50 acts that are involved, it is already high in the stakes of being the biggest release in UK Rap this year. ‘Helpless’ is the third track to be heard from the 16 track mix-tape and features an impressive, all-star cast with Devlin, Wretch 32 and So Solid Crew veteran Swiss all getting deep with their lyrics, as they describe their tough road to success. The sweet sound of Rebecca Garton on the hook and S.O.S on production makes ‘Helpless’ one of the many gems on the impressive tracklist and undoubtedly will become a firm favorite to many. ‘Helpless’ is a solid follow up to ‘Trapping Aint Dead’ and ‘Out in the Jungle’. Featuring the Section Boyz, ‘Trapping Aint Dead’ hit the 1Xtra playlist, MTV playlist, picked up support across the United States and Europe and has received nearly a million hits online within it’s first two months of release, which is a respectable achievement for any introductory single. As one of the first successful independent record labels within the UK urban music scene, Alwayz Recordings has built a legacy which has helped to oversee the rise to fame for Chip, Wretch 32 andPaigey Cakey along with numerous other acts. In collaboration with GB Records, the two labels have joined together to create a mix-tape built on a foundation that understands the roots and reality of many emcees, commanding a respectthat has enabled its founders to place unexpected emcees together to create a project of exciting, interesting and huge proportions. 99

have full control over what I play and say, and it’s a great way to interact with people. 3. What does music mean to 1. Tell us a bit about yourself and you? how you got into music. It sounds cheesy and plenty have said I’m 27 and a model/dj from London it before me but music is my life.. Its town… I’ve been into music from a got me through good and bad times very young age – always singing and the first thing I do when I wake around the house and forcing my up, even before I put the kettle on for mum to listen to my put-on concerts that all important first coffee of the in the front room!! Hip Hop and RnB day, is crank up the tunes!! has always been my thing… But I appreciate music from all genres, and at the moment for me it’s all about Queen E's DJ Playlist supporting the UK music movement (Grime and Trap). It’s our time in my 1. Rita Ora feat Krept & opinion. 2. You've just started your very first radio shows on Southstar Radio, how do you find this compares to playing at events? My family at Southstar Radio have shown me nothing but love, especially my boy Captain Rosko. It’s a fantastic opportunity that I’m grabbing with both hands!! I’ve always wanted to be on radio, so for me it’s a dream come true. Its very different from events and parties I’ve done in the past, I

5. What do you like to get up to when you're not doing music? I’m into fashion – I dress quite different from most girls my age! I’m very much into my trainers and snapbacks so enjoy shopping and also bits of modeling. I love spending time with my friends and family and loved ones – Since I’ve been sober I spend much more time doing the simple things in life like dog walks and days sat up the park listening to music. Sobriety and recovery from addiction is also a big part of my daily life. 6. What are your aspirations for the future?

modeling career, and also at some point soon, launch my own clothing label. My favorite saying right now is “attraction not promotion” I’ll leave it there….

Jamall Bufford & Kensaye - Freedom Is Diverse sounds built around the rap pieces creating this unique album. The Black Op: Era II continues to shine a light on the collective’s individual artists, this time around it’s co-founder Jamall Bufford’s turn to hold the torch. In collaboration with new TBO producer Kensaye, from London, he delivers Freedom Is. The album is not only a statement but also an exploration of freedom’s complexity, a question aimed at engaging the listener and provoking thought. Jamall Bufford stays true to himself and shows maturity and growth, exploring different topics with unconventional viewpoints and his personal insights. Once again Bufford demonstrates the versatility that has garnered the Ann Arbor, MI native worldwide recognition. Kensaye gives his take on freedom by showcasing a varied palette of sounds. His live instrumentation, electronic synths and soulful undertones prove that he cannot be pigeonholed. The genre-bending sound is the perfect ingredient to blend with Bufford’s verses. Freedom Is is Jamall Bufford and Kensaye’s idea of freedom, and at this crucial time in history, it’s their way to engage listeners to join the conversation. 12

J69 - Nidus EP In:flux Audio

This release comes at you with a feisty attitude and dark edgy basslines. INFLUX 009 is coming straight outta Yorkshire from that man J69. Having been around the Sheffield scene as a young raver, J69 grew up in the booming Bassline scene the steel city had to offer and this can definitely be heard in his music. Having had releases on Project Allout and his own Junxion Records, J69 has become part of the In: flux crew since his move further north to Leeds, and has been a big part of our radio shows and showcases over the past few months. J69 delivers here with a three track, no nonsense EP here that is made directly for raving and nothing less. Having recently been announced as the competition winner for a set at DJ Q's Bassline festival in September and growing support from big nights such as Bigger than Barry, there is a bright future ahead for J69! 13

Kate Wild A'cappella: Stevie Wonder - Master Blaster (Jammin) A beautiful rendition of the classic Stevie Wonder track. Kate presents a lovely dedication in a creative way of rounds, carefully listening to the way the piece has been made and using each sound uniquely. "In honour of one of my favourite singer songwriters of all time, whose birthday it is today, I would like to present my first ever full length a’cappella. This is my first ever attempt at trying something on this scale, having never filmed or edited anything like this before, and never used any video editing software until 3 days ago, it is in many ways sloppy, and I wish it looked better... but it was also totally fun and i’ve enjoyed learning all that I have in the last few days. I will do better next time! Due to the overwhelming amount of footage I would have needed to capture and edit in order to represent the 47 odd vocal tracks that are actually happening in this song.. I decided to cut it down a little. So Happy Birthday Stevie, hope you have a wonderful day and thank you for inspiring us to continue to better ourselves each and every day."

The proliferation of online radio over the past decade within the dance music industry has mainly focused on it as a promotional tool for DJs. Therefore, most of the sets you hear are aimed at replicating the club environment. But very few stations focus on the other end of the electronic spectrum – which is where new venture Raindrops FM comes in. A consortium of likeminded DJs and producers, they perceive a niche in the market that caters for the chilled aesthetic – whether it be deep dubstep, liquid D&B, future garage, ambient or downtempo styles. The aim is to give listeners a space to escape and relax – not just useful in a post-club situation but for any time you need to chill. Audiation caught up with one of the co-founders, DJ and producer Aaron Static to find out more.

What’s the concept of Raindrops? Essentially we want Raindrops.FM to be a one-stop shop for everything in chilled music. From the artists to the music they create, we are dedicated to providing a platform for them to get heard. Why Now? As artists, it's been difficult for some time now to find a good outlet for "chilled" music online. There are a small handful of YouTube channels that promote it well, and a huge number of disconnected labels releasing it but nothing that really unifies it all into a "scene". Scott (Fort Road) had the idea when he was fed up hearing the same Cafe Del Mar tracks on repeat on some random "chilled" online radio station and decided it was time to step up. 18

5 tracks we can expect to hear on the station 1. EASTGHOST D'vocean (headstone Edition) 2. Sleeper's Delight They Don't Know 3. Herzeloyde – Alright 4. Kino - Rhode Trip 5. Arch Origin - City By Night

www.AudiationMagazine.com

What can we expect in terms of shows and content – who’s involved so far? The response has been amazing! some excellent and well-known artists, channels and labels from the chill scene have jumped on board including Arch Origin, Slime Recordings, SirChillicious, Silent Audio, Wolftek, Nexus & Tight, Greed, Resonata and heaps more stepping up to provide content. We have amazing tracks lined up for the YouTube channel while we get our server infrastructure setup for 24/7 online radio.

How can readers help? We’re currently in an early stage of setting up the station and are looking for a small donation to help fund the project. You can go to our GoFundMe page to find out more : http://www. gofundme.com/zhcdp2t

This poem is about a summer love that was short lived. Music has always been there for me through thick and thin, the good times and the bad, we cried together and celebrated together. It has never failed to understand what I was going through at that particular moment. Every song, every piece of music, speaks a different meaning to each of us. This poem was inspired by an incredible adventure that I shared with a loved one this summer. A summer that I held on to, whether I intended to or not. It serves also as a reminder for myself (and others as well) to LIVE LIFE TO THE FULLEST. But ultimately it’s a love letter to you all. I hope it speaks to all of you. 21

A step-by-step guide to London’s best beer gardens and ravishing rooftops. Looking for amazing beer gardens and rooftops to enjoy the wonderful weather throughout the summer months? Check these places out over the following weekends and let us know what you think via Facebook, Twitter and our Instagram.

The CandleMaker, Battersea This traditional pub has been serving its locals for years and with its pleasantly bright welcoming beer/BBQ garden, it is definitely one to visit. Close to both Battersea Park and Clapham Junction station, it’s very easy to get to, hidden on the beautiful Battersea High road. The décor and artwork inside the pub is just captivating.

The Ship, Wandsworth This is a great pub/bar to meet mates perfectly situated on the banks of the river just off Wandsworth Bridge with a view of the river and neighboring Fulham. If you like a traditional pub feel with a lively atmosphere this is a perfect choice for you.

22

Turntables, Hackney Wick Like Bassline and cocktails by the canal? Then Turntable is the place you need to be each weekend. Dance music enthusiasts head down to Hackney Wick to enjoy afternoon and evening parties that are hosted at this very well put together outdoor space. You can literally catch up with friends, get drunk, top up your tan (if the weather permits) and listen to the sickest DJ’s East London has to offer, all at the same time. Easy to get to via overground and surrounded by a number of decent late night clubs for the one who are up for heading OUT out after!

Boundry, Shoreditch This is one of my favorites and has been for the last few summers. The rooftop space includes a weatherproof pergola allowing the bar and dining area to remain open every day and all year - whatever the weather, but for the summer season you need not worry. What you do need to do is get there before the queues. Waiting time can be up to an hour to get in to this beautiful space. Amazing food and excellent service the staff are absolutely wonderful.

Taylor-Ann Hasselhoff Collides into Love and Bullying personal style, having a rock-n-roll/ rocker-chic vibe.

Taylor-Ann Hasselhoff’s (E!’s #RichKids of Beverly Hills) music seeks to inspire messages of love and acceptance among others. Her new music video “Collide” was recently released and aims at attacking the problem of bullying. The song, produced by Mario Marchetti [Demi Lovato, JoJo, Black Eyed Peas] and the music video, directed by Joshua Shultz [Imagine Dragons, Juliet Simms], brings Taylor-Ann’s vision to life. Her music has also been the inspiration behind the launch of her high end unisex jewelry line Skulls On Fire by Taylor-Ann Hasselhoff. The line is inspired by Taylor-Ann’s own

Aside from her work in television and music, Taylor-Ann has a passion for animals and charity work. She works with a handful of organizations regularly, including the LA Mission, an organization that works to provide hope, health, food, and opportunity to people in need and The World Animal Protection, which helps end needless suffering of animals. I was able to speak with Hasselhoff on the inspiring messages behind her music. What made you decide to start making music? I grew up performing and was part of my schools choir. I also did a number of musicals. Music was always such a passion of mine, it's my therapy. Do you have any musical inspirations? Yuna, Disclosure, and Imogen Heap.

25

“Bullying is a problem that has affected me and my family and is something that continues to affect millions of people daily. I'm a huge advocate for anti-bullying and wanted to create this video to let people know that love goes a long way. Sometimes those that are the most hateful are those who never received love growing up. It’s all about treating everyone with kindness. 26

www.AudiationMagazine.com

I love the messages of your music, as bullying is unfortunately very prevalent in the world. What do you hope people can take away from your new single “Collide”? I wanted my fans and people everywhere to know that being different is cool. A lot of times people misinterpret the real reason why others bully or are hateful towards certain people. To be honest, I've realized that the ones who mistreat people the most are the ones who didn't get love growing up or who haven't been loved the right way. Hopefully “Collide” can help share this positive message and allow others to recognize that it is important to spread love and kindness, no matter the situation, or how mean another person has been. Just think, one smile can make someone's whole day! :)

Beverly Hills, shoot and air behind the scene bits of “Collide”. I’ve had amazing support throughout the entire making of the song and music video! You are very involved in many philanthropic organizations, which is truly generous and amazing. Deep question, but what effect on the world do you want your music to have? I believe I’m here for a reason and that's to send out inspiring messages through my music. My music is relatable and I believe my creativity and passion will help move people for the better. It’s all about love, and positivity.

How did your music inspire the launch of your jewelry line? I love Rock ’n’ Roll and wanted to create a line that I can wear both on Can you talk about the making of and off stage. Skulls on Fire is a edgy yet casual, unisex line, which is the music video? exactly what I wanted from this I worked really close with my collection! I figured, why define what director, Joshua Shultz. I produced this music video so I wanted to make pieces can be worn by a woman or a man? My music helped inspire my sure that we were able to work together to help create this message designs and I’ve been able to create pieces that I think other people are properly, and to ensure that every going to really enjoy. They are so part of the story fell into place perfectly. We had SO many different badass! skullsonfirejewelry.com versions of the music video and it Follow Hasselhoff on Twitter and took my whole team’s guidance Instagram: @tayhoff before releasing the final cut! We worked on everything from casting Be kind to yourself and others! xo auditions, to locations. I was also able to share these moments with my fans and got to have #RichKids of 27

Just over 3 weeks ago Victoria Park was taken over by the great London festival, LOVEBOX, which was aging a great success. The two day festival which features an amazingly eclectic line up returned to Victoria Park on the 17th and 18th of July. This year the festival took things to another level with featured performances from the world’s number one artists from a number of different genres. Friday saw Cypress Hill, Skepta and Rudimental all take to the main stage to give us, what was nothing short of, an amazing show in the sunshine. Skepta performed a number of songs such as crowd-pleaser ‘That’s Not Me’ which had the whole main stage attendees singing along, many out of tune but all 1 smash ‘Shutdown’ which definitely brought the day's energy to a higher level. Cypress Hill also had the crowd in the palm of their hand while performing their classic hit ‘Insane in the Brain’. The other smaller stages saw DJ sets from PBR street gang, Brodanse, Dusky, Kaytranada and a host of others. Closing the main stage was Rudimental who keep the party going as the sun set in the London sky. While their Number 1 single filled the air, so too did the feelings of excitement for the coming day. Saturday the 18th which was to see the likes of Hot Chip, Snoop Dogg, Bonobo, Annie Mac, Danny Brown and Flume all take to the stage while Acid Mondays Horse Meat Disco, Jackmaster, Kim Ann Foxman and Heidi all serving up the best in House and Techno in the park for the day.

DJ Kicks A dose of some of the best summer sneakers & trainers perfect for that outdoor festival, beach party or just chilling with you mates at the pub. Up first and tying in nicely with the Audiation music theme is the Reebok Ventilator collaboration with USA rapper from Compton LA, Kendrick Lamar. This Release is a nod to the gang culture of the rapper's hometown of Compton and surrounding LA suburbs. The concept behind the colourway is the idea of neutrality, hence the shoe is mainly white, but with a balance between the blue (Crips) and the red (Bloods). On the heel of the left shoe sports blue and on the heel of the right shoe sports red. With Kendrick Lamar branding on the tongue, this shoe was released on the 18th July and sold out worldwide within minutes.. But you may be able to find them on Ebay on a hiked up price!

ÂŁ120

Check out Kendrick Lamar’s new Hip-Hop/Rap album 'To Pimp A Butterfly' which is out now in stores.

32

www.AudiationMagazine.com

Next up is another collaboration of the Reebok Ventilator shoe. This time Reebok team up with respected sneaker boutique store Sneaker Politics for the Lakes Pack. This popular retro sneaker, which was first introduced in the 90’s, has had a lot of collaborations recently. This latest pack has been inspired by the vast array of great lakes found throughout their hometown of Louisiana, USA. This is a double-pack that comes in two colourways. The first being the Pink Lakes, comprising of a baby pink tongue with paper white/emerald green upper, and a reddish/pink upper sole.

ÂŁ125

The second part of this pack is the 3 Lakes shoe. The colourway on the particular version comes in a combination of grey and emerald green with additional white and blue detailing on the upper. An indivually numbered postcard and three rope lace variants are included with each pair. Out now in selected stores. Read an interview with the Sneaker Politics designers about this release

With floral all over the high street and summer now upon us, this next collaboration between Adidas and The Game Plan/Champs Sports has hit stores at a perfect time. The Adidas ZX Flux “Floral” is a fairly new trainer by Adidas and has also had a fair few collaborations recently. This being the highlight of the newest of The Game Plan, an exclusive to Champs Sports. The collection features a trio of different sneakers in floral prints and you can complete the outfit with matching t-shirts. A pretty fresh look for the summer.

More from Adidas and tying things in musically is the Adidas Originals X Pharrell Williams Supershell artwork collection. This comes hot on the heels of Pharrell’s Adidas Originals Super Star Pack, which offered a choice of colourways like never before, 50 different colours in fact. This new collection utilises artwork by NYC contemporary artist Todd James, American photographer/director Cass Bird, British-Iraqi architect Zaha Hadid and contemporary Japanese artist Mr., and colourways by Pharrell himself. The artists have come up with some fantastic designs which feature on the famous shell toe, ranging from cartoon-style flowers to Japanese anime. A really cool fun collection this one. The Adidas Originals X Pharrell Williams 34

The Nike Air Max 95 Greedy combines four colourways from the model’s past. One of Nike Air’s most famous models is back again.. Quite a strange concept to these as the shoes are split down the middle, with the right foot sporting OG neon green and on the left shoe a hot orange/red. The left foot goes with orange and grape which basically looks like they have cut four different colourways down the middle and glued the shoes together. Either way, they have all but sold out with only a few pairs left on Nike’s official website.

Next up is another Nike Air Max 95. This being the original OG Neon version and it looks like a direct copy of the original distinctive classic bright neon colourway and bubble sole that was also released in the 90’s.

Up last is one of my favourite brands, Saucony. This shoe being the Saucony Originals Sushi Pack does, as the name suggests, takes inspiration from the popular Japanese style of food that has been around since the 8th century, and now of course just as popular in the Western world. It kicks off their Autumn/ Winter collection. This pack features inspired colours of sushi rolls and wasabi mustard. The men's Shadow 5000 upper features wasabi and black colours that base the shoe, while the wasabi and ginger brighten up the women’s Shadow Originals.

After shaking dance floors from his debut single, gaining support from various djs around the globe, Trinidad based producer Keiron Raven strikes back with another massive and inventive hit. Regression brings along a pumping and really cool bassline and a chaotic breakdown.

“My new track REGRESSSION was produced not only as a dance track but as a story telling expression. The expression behind the track was the feeling of fighting the urge to stop producing music but suddenly broke all the rules again because I accepted I was an addict for life. A music producer for life, it has embedded itself permanently in my head. Regression, hope you all enjoy the track and look out for more new releases coming soon. Keiron Raven 38

HOT 6 with Kalyde There is a theory which states, there is something special distributed within the water across the south-west of England. Namely the city of Bristol with the number of bright talent, homegrown and migrant talent, that have emerged and foraged huge reputations within their respected fields. Roni Size, Massive Attack, Breach, Eats Everything & Portishead. Detroit born Bristol resident, Kalyde is the latest starlet to break through gaining a firm grip on the torch to the city. The House & Techno producer has accumulated releases on popular underground music labels Mad Tech, Lost Records and Avorte, receiving huge support from the likes of Pete Tong, Sante, Sidney Charles and Annie Mac. August 7th see’s Kalyde take to the helm at the London infamous nightclub Fabric alongside Lxury, Applebottom, & Klose One hosted by BBC Radio 1Xtra’s Monki, so we thought we’d ask Kalyde for his take on the Audiation Hot 6.

1st record you ever bought? Underworld - Born Slippy, as well as a few others when I was in my teens and had glandular fever with some time to kill. Favourite track you have made? Most of them haven't been heard! Favourite kit for making music? For sure my Maschine MK2, I don't just use it for making beats but more so for the hands-on effect it has. I also recently got a Bass Station 2, analogue synth which is really fun too. Your Dream Line up (self included) Greg Wilson b2b Norman Jay, Joy O b2b with his Uncle, Ray Keith (5 hours), Chic. Midland, Markey, Eats Everything, Dense & Pika If you had to DJ a 3hr set of a different Genre what would it be? Jungle or Disco One sentence that defines house and techno music? Four kicks, forward thinking and a whole lot in-between.
