LOVE The World's First Intelligent Record Player

ReAcoustic Acoustically Amplified Speakers

The super slick and simple design caught attention, though reminding me of a glasses case. The purpose of the LOVE is to fuse the beautiful vinyl sound with the modern day era of technology. The portable player works with any size or speed record and is controlled with your smart phone. It connects to speakers/output via 3.5mm cord, RCA Bluetooth adaptor, Bluetooth or Wifi. My favourite aspect of the LOVE is that it is said to maintain the crackles and pops of records.

I love everything vintage, so the gramophone-head captured my interest. The simplicity of this is just wonderful. Utilising the natural acoustics, the ReAcoustic is a lovely Walnut base a 1920s gramophone horn. Place your smart phone inside and press play. The Bluetooth version is a little more technical with the added ability to add other input sources through a 3.5mm cable and has a 20ft range for Bluetooth devices. My favourite aspect of the ReAcoustic is beauty and cleverness of the www.indiegogo.com/projects/lovemanual speaker. the-world-s-first-intelligentturntable-music-design--2 www.etsy.com/uk/shop/ReAcoustic 10

Transparent Speaker A Rich, Premium Audio Experience GUDA More Than Instrument The bizarre UFO design of this instrument attracts your curiosity. The GUDA drum consists of two connected steel domes with curved reeds on the top section. Each reed creates two notes - the main note, and a note one octave higher. My favourite aspects are that every item is unique with different sounds being achieved all the time as well as having lovely detailed hand-crafted designs. www.gudadrum.com

Anything transparent is a fascinating thing, the trendy look made me want to find out more. The purpose of the Transparent Speaker is to fit into any home and remain there as a sustainable piece of tech. The speaker has the ability to be taken apart & put back together by the user with ease in order replace any parts. The specs include Woofer Output: 80—100 W, Sealed Cabinet Volume: 10,2 L and Frequency Response: 35 Hz — 20 Khz ±5Db. It also has input options for direct cable and wireless. My favourite aspect of the Transparent Speaker is that you can see every single vibration and motion inside. www.peoplepeople.se/transparentspeaker

IPHONE 7 + AIRPODS "Stroll" Advertisement Song: Marian Hill - Down He strolls down the city in a black and white vision. Pops on his airpods and loses himself to the music leaving the noise of the busy streets behind. As the vocals come in, his feet in fresh white sneakers start to dance. The hands swirl into movement too along with his body being taken over by the delicate rhythm. He is free to move. He dances up the walls, backflips and spins, defying gravity. Practically magic is the slogan. Giving us the feel that these airpods can help to transport you to your own world of possibilities. Lil Buck is the dancer, based in LA, he specialises in a street dance style called Jookin. The track is a good pairing featuring the beautiful piano and voice with a modern, urban beat. The music video is superbly created with the main focus on the lift with each compartment showing a different vision. The choppy beat plays together with the quick visual cuts and odd camera angles. The artists also defy gravity, floating in the air and resting against the ceiling.

NEW MUSIC

CHARTED

How can a song that is about the breakdown of a relationship sound so dreamy? His husky voice, those smooth melodic tones and a cool beat.

Drake Passionfruit Just Us Cloudbusting

This ultra hip remix of Kate Bush is just so trendy. The pace is quickened, the take is more modern with an added summery beat underneath. It really highlights the voice and strings well. Jason Derulo ft Nicki Minaj & Ty Dolla $ign Swalla I'm really feeling the musical vibe of this with the island keyboard, clashing cymbals and shimmy shimmy's. The choice topic is explicit and, honestly, reading Nicki's I have zero idea of what she is talking about.

I love the quirky meld of the title track in Matteo Rosolare & JoJo Angel's 'Individual EP', with the brass instrument cutting against a summer house beat. 'Collective' takes a deeper nature with a lot of textural notes and sounds adding intrigue. Next up making waves on the OneFold DGTL radar are house visionaries Matteo Rosolare and Jojo Angel, with this impressive two-track release, Individual EP. The pair, who head up Daylight Robbery Records, first hit us with Individual, a light rousing sound with intricate percussive detail and stand out melodic brass sections. A consistently refined sound from the accomplished duo. The duo then follow up with ‘Collective’, a thumping beast of a track, primed and ready to command any dance floor with its raw, rugged beats and head spinning synths. www.onefolddigital.com 27

'Elbrus' by Ultimate has a cool, chilled atmosphere and joyful tone. It takes me to the flowing ocean waves as the sun is setting amidst a lively beach party. A man who continues to inspire many and deliver the goods time after time is Ultimate. Back with his latest release on Infrasonic Pure entitled 'Elbrus'. Another fine execution from Ultimate in his much adored style, he comes up with the goods once more for another truly masterful uplifting trance masterpiece. 'Andorfina' by Emanuele Braveri & Amo R is energetic with an addictive main section. Returning with an almighty statement, Emanuele Braveri & Amo R are back with their latest sure fire winner in the form of 'Andorfina'. Showing the masses once again why their much loved production style is sought after right now. Complete with all the hallmark sounds we've come to expect from this pairing, 'Andorfina' is a real delight thanks to its slick groove and infectious vibe. I love the funk style sounds on 'Give It Back To You' by Lauren Neko & Street Level with the gorgeous alluring voice. A huge summer anthem track to get your dancing! The Project X edit adds a dark, moody bass with brighter contrasting sections. Lauren Neko returns to Slime with her third single, ‘Give It Back To You’. Lauren wrote the vocals for the track originally as a unique topline to be performed over ‘Intro’ by Alan Braxe and Fred Faulke during her live shows at Hed Kandi in Ibiza. Adelaide producer Street Level then stepped in to work his magic and craft an original track in homage to the house classic, with Sydney bassist Jeremy Goldfinch providing instrumentation for the essential groove and backbone of this retro house anthem. Labelmate Project X flips the original into a bass-heavy garage anthem, enshrining the vocal within a tough breakbeat exterior for maximum dancefloor impact. www.lnk.to/GiveItBackToYou 35

JARROD DICKENSON Ready The Horses The new album takes your mind to a wonderful Texan bar with an authentic country blues style. Jarrod Dickenson's voice simply holds the ability to warm your soul. The livelier pieces such as 'Way Past Midnight' and 'Faint Of Heart' include a sturdy vocal, ensuring your hips are swinging with hearty piano and brass melodies, robust guitar sections and rhythmic percussion. The calmer moments including 'Your Heart Belongs To Me' and 'California' have a sweet charm to the voice, allowing you to absorb into the sounds with smoother chords and distinct notes. 'Gold Rush' is one more favourite with a delightfully dark and mysterious vibe. Born in Texas, Jarrod has a natural way with words and storytelling which is shown in his music. He is quickly becoming a hit in the UK having supported Jools Holland, performed at G l a s t o n b u r y a n d j u s t fi n i s h e d h i s o w n tour. BBC Radio 2's Janice Long describes Jarrod as "an incredible talent." www.jarroddickenson.com

The lyrics of 'Finding Peace' by HipKnoTiC give me such a good feeling and share the struggles to finding one's true self. This plays along with an easy-going Hip-Hop tempo. Having struggled with mental illness and a failed suicide attempt, Youngstown, Ohio’s HipKnoTiC is channeling his pain and perseverance through song. “Finding Peace” is an intimate glimpse into his past and a celebratory homage to conquering his demons. Showcasing a level of vulnerability not often seen in Hip-Hop, the song is a cathartic exercise in self-love.

I hear the devil, he's creeping up tryna steal my soul. But I can't let it go, not that easily. When I'm this close to becoming a better me. Produced by Fizz The Monster, “Finding Peace” is the lead single from HipKnoTiC’s forthcoming debut LP, slated for release this summer. Now living in Cleveland, the 36-year-old rapper blends introspective reflection with self-deprecating humor to cultivate a relatable, entertaining style that sets him apart from others in his class. Creating what he coins “Underground Boom-Bap Soul,” HipKnoTiC is gearing up for the release of his first album, which he titled Finally as a tongue-in-cheek nod to his relatively “late” entry into the game. www.soundcloud.com/hipknotic330

MAURITIUS

Specialising in electro dream pop, Summer & Phil M release their debut single Echoes Of The Heart, 18th May 2017. It captures a moment of euphoria, telling the story of the one’s soul and the dreams yet to unfold. The duo beautifully address their fans as “dreamers”, encouraging us all to live life with spontaneity. So, darling dreamers, with words from Summer, this is for you. The story... When we started to write Echoes Of The Heart, we were really thinking about why we do music, We realised that it's because we, each one of us, have inside of us a story that needs to be told. Each individual, we might be the daughter/son/husband/wife of someone but, inside all of us we feel and live things through our own experiences and our senses. We have our own stories to share and magic to share with the world. Our society and world does not really allow us to express ourselves because there are things that are taboo, things that you cannot say or do, and the heart must be whoever you want it to be. Speak and share yourself, it's the way your heart beats. Your heart doesn't choose where the blood is going to go in your body, it just pumps the blood and it goes everywhere - it's

the Echoes Of The Heart. Your heart wants something dearly and it is out there. If you listen to the lyrics of the song, the chorus speaks about how we have our heads in the clouds. It's all about dreaming and being able to go beyond what society wants us to be. To be free, only love. Through us, we both are people who want unconditional love and believe in touching the lives of people, making them dream.

Each one of us goes through a lot of things, life is made up of good and bad. Inside of us there's a little girl/ boy who wants to dream, and with this dream you can go so far. You can turn your life into a fairytale. So, the message of the song is to bring hope to people, make them believe in themselves - If they want something, they can do it. These are the things that have inspired both of us. To live to this, try to the maximum and believe that 41

great achievements, and audiences relishing in their optimistic light.

"When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." Paolo Coelho

we can do it - believe in our dreams. It really changes your perception of life. Paolo Coelho, Louise Hay, Abraham Hicks... These are wonderful teachers that explain to you that with love, your energy and your magic, you can change transform everything and anything around you. So, we try to be that and we don't want to focus on the bad things happening out there, we want to focus on what we believe in and what we have to bring - our vision of the world and our magic through music. When you listen to Echoes Of The Heart, you can feel Phil M's soul with the musical notes and you can feel my soul with the voice. It blends so beautifully, we think in the same way and I feel that we were meant to meet each other to be able to bring this beautiful gift to the world.

The meeting... We knew each other from way back, we had played in a few gigs and worked on a show. We've always known each other, but started really connecting after my dad had been through health issues. I felt helpless, and, we started talking about it as he was going through things as well. We started talking about life and realised that we had the same vision. It's amazing because he's born on the 11th of October and I'm born on the 12th of October! We have the same vision, we're both musicians and we thought, why not something together - it came naturally. The atmospheric music of upcoming album 'Human Mechanics' holds a desire to share optimism to the world.

The Inspiration... The main inspiration behind the album was to represent the various emotions that people go through. Not only the positives, but to accept and embrace everything - it's all part of who we are. Anger, happiness, pain, jealousy... everything that makes us human. Nowadays, the image that is painted of human beings is that you need to be perfect. But, perfection is Lead vocalist Summer and DJ/ just a concept that's not true. The producer Phil M united this year to beauty of a human being is someone nurture peace in the world through who's flawed with their sounds. They have both worked in the music world with a 42

strengths and weaknesses, but who is trying his/her best to work on themselves to be better every day. That's the aim of Human Mechanics, to show that being human is not being perfect - it's being perfectly flawed. If you look at life itself, creation is based on duality. It's important to have day and night, it's important to be happy and sad because, without the other, you wouldn't know the value of the other side of it. We realise what it means to be happy and sad, each instance makes you stronger and grow as a human being. When you're sad you go deep down inside, and, when someone else is sad you can relate to that, be there and help that person. But if you don't go through these emotions, you're not complete. William Blake also beautifully says that in his poems. He wrote Songs Of Innocence and Experience which show duality and says that you need both to be able to evolve as a human being. When you are connected with yourself and realise that: yes, we have work and family but, we also have to leave a legacy or heritage behind. We want to leave a musical legacy where people will be able to hear our feelings and see life through our eyes. The most beautiful gift we have as musicians is to participate in the daily life of people, just to know that someone listened to the song and they felt good, at peace or happy.

We could be with them and share their day, it's an amazing feeling. The meaning of life... Life is to be able to live every moment to the fullest because it's the moments that make our lives. We are here to experience everything and to just be the best versions of ourselves. Life is abundance, it's here for us to flow with it and expand ourselves. We are all beams of love just waiting to expand and reach out to others. The future... We hope to make our music travel. We hope that people from all over the world and Mauritius will open their hearts, listen to us and help share the magic. In our world right now, there are so many things going on. We need to dream, be able to fly and escape this difficult reality. Residing in the Indian Ocean's Eden island of Mauritius, Summer & Phil M have the tranquil flow and openhearted nature embedded inside of them. The beauty of Mauritius... My favourite thing about Mauritius is the people, we are still very human. We still have values and know what it is to respect our elders, love one another and go beyond our differences. We are lucky to be able to live in a country where you have all sorts of races and cultures

45

Little drops of water, little grains of sand, make the mighty ocean and the beauteous land. And the little moments, humble though they may be, make the mighty ages of eternity. Little deeds of kindness, little words of love, make our earth an Eden, like the heaven above. So our little errors lead the soul away, from the paths of virtue into sin to stray. Little seeds of mercy sown by youthful hands, grow to bless the nations far in heathen lands. Glory then for ever be to God on high, beautiful and loving, to eternity.

Poem by Julia Carney 46

beautifully mixed together, we live peacefully with one another. We are still seeing each other as human beings, beyond and above everything else. This is also what our music is about, to celebrate differences and life. Embrace the old and celebrate the new. The inner voice... I want people to really know that the little voice inside of them needs to be heard. The stories of who they are, no matter how small of insignificant they think it is, are valued. It is important and it makes a difference. Every human being is entitled to a happy life and to a life filled with abundance. We drift away from who we are at the core. The beauty of a child is, not only his innocence but, the ability and capacity to listen to his/her heart. Their minds are not active, he/she uses their heart to forgive, love unconditionally and live every single moment to the fullest. It's the ability to live in the now, whereas we as adults get trapped in the illusion of what has to be done, what has been done and what should be done. We don't listen to our inner voice. We are beings who have stories to tell, and also an overflowing love that is waiting to be shared with others. We are really this, we want to love one another but we get trapped in the material and differences. We find means to divide ourselves when the real aim is to go beyond. If you look

at an x-ray machine, you go through it and it will not say if you're yellow, black or white. It just sees your bone structure and if we could just see each other like this then I think the world would be a better place. Even our children are no longer children anymore because they are robbed of their innocence. They don't have time to play, they're not connected with nature. There are a lot of things that need to be reviewed. Music touches your soul, I think we could try to initiate children to music, and, use their creativity and imagination. We shouldn't forget that we live in a world where technology is taking over very quickly, but I'm not sure if it's helpful in the development as a human being - our evolution with feelings, values and everything that makes us human. The magic... Sometimes words are not enough to express what we feel. When you really close your eyes and listen to the song, if you're connected, you will feel life through us. If we're able to make you feel good, that's our aim. Imagine, just touching one life can change the whole course. No matter who you are, you can do it if you believe in your dream. You are the only one who can do it because you have the power and magic. www.facebook.com/summerphilm
