Hi Guys & Dolls... DJ and Producer Paul Darey is on our cover this month with a stylish mosaic design, whilst the back cover takes the white backing of the image. We welcome Tamara as our new Brand Ambassador, she has shown us lots of support and we are excited to have her with our team. A congratulatory note to Right Chord Music who hosted a brilliant Facebook Live festival, they introduced us to so many really great artists all over the world. We're also super excited to announce the start of September Sofa Sessions with Leanne Louise, live every weekend of this month live from our Facebook page. My current favourite track is the sweet tones of 'Either Way' by Snakehips & Anne-Marie ft Joey Bada$$. In this issue Steve shares praise to music with an ode. Every single melody you've brought to my ears, hiding away my tears. Jessie has a dose of passion telling of her experience with dating together with a trio of love songs. My heart was pounding. Fate and Feelings It’s been nearly a year since my last article due to severe writers block however, unexpectedly, I have found my inspiration again. Appropriately named, this describes my current situation. Obviously, as always, no names will be mentioned due to people’s privacy I hope you enjoy the read. People spend their whole life actively searching for ‘The One’. Whether they go on 10+ dates a month or sign up to dating websites such as the most popular Tinder or Plenty Of Fish in the hopes they will match with someone, meet, fall in love and be a picture of perfection for years to come. However most of the time you get endless messages off people who don’t spark your soul, or make you want to engage in conversation with them. We simply scroll through endless profiles, reading the words on a screen judging people based on how they describe themselves, and simply choose whether we send them a message. It can be a brutal experience for some, people can hide behind a screen. It’s very easy to write a bio about yourself which is simply not true, post a few pictures edited to the max and hey presto we have portrayed ourselves to be someone we aren’t, in most cases this is true. However on a very rare occasion you will receive a message and that person will captivate your interest with the first few lines of words written and you will message back. The conversation will just flow so easy between you both the words come to you with no effort needed and you will talk for hours on end. You realise you have similarities, common interests, despite coming from different backgrounds and you just click. You may question it at first thinking to yourself “This is too good to be true”. You will over think, analyse and sometimes panic and of course that’s normal. It’s not often you meet people and connect on a deeper level than just lust and when you do it can be overwhelming, intense, and scary but at the same time it can be amazing. 11

People will often judge others when they ask “How did you meet?” And that’s okay. To me, meeting someone on a dating website is no different to meeting someone in a bar or a coffee shop. It doesn’t matter how or where you meet someone. The fact of the matter is you have met them, they have entered your life when you least expected it and made you realise honest, nice people do exist. I am a firm believer in fate I believe we all meet people when we aren’t looking and that’s the best way. That person blows away any fears you once had about people, and feelings making you realise it’s okay to feel, it’s not going to ruin your life like you once thought. It may of been in the past you’ve developed feelings for someone who didn’t appreciate how you felt at the time and that can leave you feeling quite empty, lost and often looking like a fool. However this person does the opposite and makes you feel wanted, respected and needed - a feeling you're not used to. My advice to anyone who has been lucky enough to find this person is to hold onto them with both hands and don’t let go because they don’t come around often. Embrace how scary it feels and take a risk, you never know it may pay off. You don’t want to look back in ten years time laying next to someone you settled for thinking “I wonder what that person is doing?” Pursue what’s making you smile on a daily basis and, you never know, they may just be the one. Carpe Diem.

We are proud to announce that the September Sofa Sessions will be streamed every weekend of the month live from our Facebook page. Singer Leanne Louise and various musicians will perform in fan's living rooms who have been chosen out of a hat. These unique sessions will purely be for enjoyment and giving back to the supporters. "My aims are really simple - to have fun and give back to the people who've supported my music. It's to have fun, to travel, to do something different. I've been gigging for years (and years and years...), it's to do something different and also to give people a chance to hear music of mine that they might not have heard yet because it's not released. So, it's a thank you and just to have fun." Leanne Louise www.facebook.com/AudiationMagazine www.facebook.com/LeanneLouisemusic 14

Coldplay: A Head Full of Dreams Tour at Soldier Field, Chicago on 17th August 2017 I cannot believe what you are about to read actually happened. There are few acts in the music industry that can sell out a stadium. Some past acts in Chicago that sold out Soldier Field have been: Grateful Dead, Kenny Chesney, Taylor Swift, One Direction, Beyoncé, U2, and Coldplay. Let me tell you a story about the most recent Coldplay concert in Chicago. About a week ago, I was starry-eyed sitting in the nosebleed section at Coldplay’s Head Full of Dreams Tour in Chicago. My friend Ashley and I were excited and ready for the show, even though we were very high up. We decided to walk around to look at merchandise, and realized that the shirts were too expensive for our price range, even though we really wanted to buy one, especially because it was our first Coldplay concert. Suddenly, we saw a roadie walking around scoping the crowd. He looked like he was on a mission, but I decided to go up to him anyways to ask for a discount on a t-shirt. He explained to us that the merchandise is what pays the bills of the crew, so that is why they are so expensive. We told him we understood but it was unfortunate because it was our first time seeing Coldplay and we wanted to remember the day. Then, the following dialogue happened. Roadie: “Oh, it’s your first time seeing them? Are you two big fans?” Ashley and I: “Oh my gosh yes. We’ve been huge fans and

finally saved up to afford the tickets. We are in the nosebleeds but don’t care we are so excited!” Roadie: “So, you’re in the nosebleeds. Is it ok if I talk to you over by that garbage can away from the crowd?” Ashley and I: “..Yeah…?” Roadie: “Can I ask you some trivia questions regarding the band? What is their photographer’s name? How many members are in the band? Can you name 10 songs? What are the members’ names? How many albums do they have?” At this point, Ashley and I were getting about half right and half wrong. We are big fans, but we are more focused on the music so when the album/song questions were asked we fired off all their music no problem. We didn’t know what his agenda was, but we were ready to find out. Roadie: “Let me introduce myself. My name is Chris and I am responsible for building the stage. Also, I am responsible for ticket upgrades. Tonight, we are filming the concert live across the world on virtual reality, and my job is to fill the first few rows with Coldplay fans. I was looking for people wearing Coldplay shirts, but I really want to give you these tickets.” Chris: “If it’s ok, I’m going to take your 400-level tickets and give you these 3rd row seats.” Ashley started crying, and my heart was pounding (because I don’t cry that easily). Long story short, we fought him to try and make sure he was making the right decision and he really wanted to give us the tickets. We hugged him, took this selfie, and

pooled money together to buy matching shirts for the 3rd row. We ran down and had to take multiple breaks while walking up to the front because we were so intimidated walking up to the stage. Safe to say, the entire concert was a whirlwind. With the lights from the wristbands, confetti, messages in each song, Ashley and I easily had the best night of our lives. One of the weirdest things that happened was all day I was saying how I am excited for a slow song called “Everglow.” When Chris Martin started performing that song, he was at the end of the catwalk which was in the middle of the stadium. It started raining on him. However, it wasn’t raining where we were. So, we watched a slow song with rain pouring on Chris Martin without getting a drop on us. Then, when the song was over, so was the rain! It was weird but mystical at the same time. Thank you, Chris the roadie, my friend Ashley and Coldplay for one night to remember.

Soul Music by Terry Pratchett was recently recommended to me by a brilliant friend. I must admit that I was slightly apprehensive with the fantasy roots, but the idea of musical rebellion pulled me in. Trolls, wizards, magic horses and even death play roles in the story - perhaps these are normalalities in the Discworld series, but it's certainly something quite out there for me. The puzzle piece way in which the story fits together is something I really enjoyed as well as the little snippets of quirky statements which perplex the mind. For one, we learn a clever little trick to steal a piano by explaining to the officials that yes a piano can talk, has legs and walks around at night! Makes perfect sense, right?

"Music should be free." I wish more people thought this way, but of course we all need strong foundations in order to sustain ourselves. He figuratively and literally lived for the music. It took over his soul. This was both beautiful and scary to all involved. The music came from somewhere beyond, and it brought with it a sense of independence. It made everyone want to break free from the rules and regulations. To express themselves openly regardless of the chaos it caused. Like raw, untamed fire it spread quickly and was out of control. The kind of music that

"gets under your skin and makes you feel fizzy." The notion is that the universe runs on an a rhythm. It is alive. And this is true. The whole universe is an artistic creation. It could easily have been black & white with monotone sounds and rigid motions. But, we are surrounded by art. Our own beating hearts lay down the soundtrack of our souls, our voices each so different as our melody. The calming lull of trees and oceans, the rock music of a thunderstorm. The dance of our movements, the blowing trees, the wild waters. The vibrant colours of life as an incredible and ever-changing painting. The naturally crafted sculptures of our bodies and the landscapes that surround us.

"Its an interesting fact that music, being of its nature immortal, can sometimes prolong the life of those intimately associated with it." 24

'They Don't Know' by C4 featuring Preditah is addicting with a catchy flow and rhythmic bassline. Two unmistakable sounds of UK music partner up for C4’s mighty new joint ‘They Don’t Know’. C4 comes straight in on an acapella intro, laying thick a Brummy accent and disparate ability to merge melodic tones with lyrical flow before his brother, Preditah, stampedes through the backend of the intro to slap down a juicy, bass blowing beat, that fuses elements of house, UKG and grime together, making a track that sounds distinctly unique. Having each keyed their own niche in music, both C4 and Preditah have instantly recognisable sounds. C4 has an idiosyncratic mix of tones, ad-libs and slogans that have led him to catch the attention of UK legends such as Boy Better Know and Artful (Dodger) whilst Preditah’s craft for music production stands out through his extraordinary additions of orchestral and melodic wizardry in his beats. Although C4 and Preditah have collaborated previously, ‘They Don't Know’ started life as a demo idea: “If I'm honest, I just had it on my phone playlist, not knowing if I should finish it or not. I played it to my cousin 1 day and he went absolutely nuts! I grew confidence in the track and showed it to a few more people - same reaction! When Preditah heard it, he wheeled it instantly and said "lemme reproduce it". The rest is history.” – C4 www.aatw.com

'Watercolour' by Forerunners is a twisted yet beautiful creation, it also evokes visions of the wilderness. Another beautiful progressive workout from Arizona’s Brenden LaBonte aka Forerunners – a name steadily growing in repute, with recent releases & remixes on Max Graham’s ‘Cycles’ and Saturate Audio. 'Radiate' by Jorza & Matthew Duncan is tantalising and lively. Jorza & Matthew Duncan land on InfraProgressive with the truly spellbinding ‘Radiate’. Packed with a filthy bass line from the off and a tight knit groove, the track begins to build its foundations ready for the breakdown. Ticking all the typical InfraProgressive boxes, ‘Radiate’ is a real progressive masterpiece. At the break, we’re treated to lush piano chords, warm bass tones and slick, pin point execution. As the track drops back in, it really hits that sweet spot thanks to that breathtaking melody, effortlessly oozing summer vibes throughout. www.infrasonicrecordings.com 39

'Feels So Good' by Funk D’Void is vibrant and melodic with little textural quirks. The remixes all take a different turn providing sunshine sounds, be it bright and fun or deep as the setting sun. Hypnotic and uplifting from the start. Funk’D’void uses a classic 90’s vocal sample, one the progressive house heads will no doubt remember with affection and employs lush synths and warm bass with driving percussion to go dark to take you on an epic journey into melodic techno. As Lars tells us; "I made the track deliberately with a melodic, hooky feel with some of my favourite old vocal samples from a couple of 90s classic house/ techno records. I love putting on my rose-tinted, nostalgia shades when I’m in the studio!" ONIT Recordings stay true to their ethos and have yet again been able to deliver another glorious glut of remixes to bolster the package: Tuff London have had an incredible 2017 and they supply a massive remix: the duo introduce an incessant, arpeggiated synth line that builds bombastically with thick strings to eventually open up into an uplifting big room monster with serious floor skills. One of their best and most mature productions to date, rather reminiscent of Four Tet’s incredible Pryda remix. Brett Gould's Remix toes the line between techno and progressive. With a rolling bassline and driving percussion, he combines stabs with a looped melodic synth hook to produce solid club banger. ONYVA’s distinctive percussive, almost tribal tech groove led remix has a refreshing if slightly crazy feel. He gets his wonk on with aplomb supplying a remix that wouldn't sound out of place at any Elrow party. Finally, ONIT’s very own Mark Holmes rolls out a beauty. He stays deep but keeps the energy levels high on his remix. By layering percussion with hooky, syncopated loops and picking out main elements from the FDV Original, he builds it all into a serious, atmospheric break creating a real moment before dropping back to do it all over again. It’s not often that dance music producers can stay relevant and revered highly in the game for as long as Funk D’Void.(Lars Sandberg aka Francois Dubois, Chaser and his more recent project, Joyless). He DJ’s all over the world with productions and releases on Bedrock, Cocoon, Electrik Soul, Missile, Octopus, Suruba, Tronic, Tulipa and Urbantorque. An impressive discography spanning over 20 years has included remixes for New Order, Underworld, Kevin Saunderson, Deetron, Laurent Garnier, Paul Van Dyk, Steve Rachmad, Shlomi Aber, Stephan Bodzin, Ian Pooley, Technasia & Christian Smith. As well as highly acclaimed, timeless mix compilations for the Balance Series, & Cocoon. More high quality output from ONIT Recordings, a young label with big ambitions. www.soundcloud.com/funkdvoid

Intense, atmospheric tune! 'Collider' by Danilo Ercole is a journey of sound. Holding fast to OHM Music's mission of representing the passionate, talented, forward thinking musical pioneers and creative visionaries, Danilo Ercole has claimed his rightful place as one of the staple artists on a label that continues to drive a new era of soul inspired melodies and out of the box floor crushing rhythms. Fresh off of his latest AERYS Records and Armada supported offering called “Redemption”, Danilo Ercole has wasted no time preparing a brand new trance delicacy; a magical feast for the ears dubbed “Collider”, with an official release date set for September 18, 2017, on OHM Music! The original: The maestro of AfterDark Sessions Danilo Ercole is fast becoming one of the most recognized names in the dark trance empire as his ability to translate his unique auditory visions into productions that combine darkness with light and power with grace clearly define everything that he has set out to represent. His latest studio quest has culminated in the delivery of a gritty, hypnotic trance stunner that begs you to reach for the heavens as you dive head first into a trans-dimensional melodic dream world. It is no wonder that Danilo was once named as one of Coldharbours favorite producers as “Collider” bears all of the indispensable elements and melodic flair that shines a brilliant light on the current state of modern day trance. The Harry Square remix: A release would not be complete without a little remix action and on this one, it’s truly all about the little details in the build that inspire full on, mouth watering anticipation. Designed with a sweet simmer and a soft meticulous rise, Harry Square's remix teases the senses and reminds us that it is not about the destination but of the energy soaked auditory journey that will fly us to heights far beyond the tangible universe. “Collider” marks Danilo’s third release on the OHM Music label following “Cosmic” and most recently “Scan”, a divine, peak hour, pulse-pounding trance masterpiece that unveils a distinct layer of Danilo's mastery of rabbit hole exploration. Stay locked in with OHM Music as there will be much more from Danilo Ercole and the OHM Music family waiting just around the corner! www.beatport.com/release/collider/2079480 45

Hold onto your seats, it's going to be a bumpy ride! 'Turbulence' by Daniel Wanrooy is a killer tune with a bold, energy and a gnarly bass. "I started this track after I came back from a trip to Greece. The weather was good and they played these old TiĂŤsto tracks on local radio there. I felt I wanted to make something with that old feeling, but with nowadays mixing and mastering. It has great support so far after Markus Schulz premiered it in his show. Next week it will be played on the USA radio. I did everything myself from scratch, also the mixing and mastering. I am pretty proud of how it came out. It is crazy busy at the moment. Loads of gigs and productions. I have something big coming on Armada later this year and more releases on Black Hole and High Contrast as well. Exciting times ahead!" www.beyourselfmusic.com/label/highcontrastrecordings
