5 Songs For Your Sanity Mental health is very relevant and very important for self-love and care. The topic has been on my mind for years, but the trigger for me to write something about it was from the recent season of the Netflix show 13 Reasons Why, which covers topics like suicide, sexual assault, bullying, depression, and mental health. Music is a cure in all shapes, so I wanted to write about some songs that have gotten me through some various experiences for the sake of my mental health. Hopefully they can get someone else through something as well. 1. Fall in Line – Christina Aguilera ft. Demi Lovato Ladies, we needed a new anthem and this is it! All in all, it’s about women being our own person and not following society’s norm of what we should be doing. Nick Jonas sings about the theme of this song in his song “Good Girls” saying “Who’s the a**hole that told you that’s what you had to do?” 2. Miss Independent – Kelly Clarkson This song showed me that it is ok to be my own independent person, not need a man or significant other, and still be my own www.AudationMagazine.com
person falling in love. The one thing I hate about society (unpopular opinion) is that people search for their “other half.” What does that mean? I’ve gotten this far without another half, or someone who “completes me.” I believe I can fall in love with someone, but still be my own person, make sense? 3. Everybody Hurts – R.E.M. Sometimes when someone is in pain about something, it’s helps to listen to the songs that bring out all the feels. But be picky with those songs, you don’t want to feel worse. This song is the best sad song that explains that everyone feels pain, so you can get through it. Light at the end of the tunnel kind of song. 4. The Way I Am – Charlie Puth THANK YOU CHARLIE! No one needs to apologize for being themselves. If you don’t like it, then that’s your problem. Not only does he touch it’s ok to be yourself, he discusses how no one can get to know anybody anymore because no one talks! Social media man…ruins lives. I’m sick of people being overjudgy when someone wants to just be themselves. Because at the end of the day, that’s just the way I am. 5. IDFWU – Big Sean This is the song to play if the only thing to say to a person or situation is “Eff You.” Whenever I’m angry, this song comes on and I instantly feel better. You’re not telling anyone off in person, just getting yourself through your anger in privacy. It’s fun. “And number 6 from me is Christina Aguilera - Beautiful. The pain and sadness commences but she pulls us up through into the light with a strong sense of self-confidence. We’re the song inside the tune, full of beautiful mistakes.” Ruby Let me know if there are other songs to add or help you get through things! These are the top ones for me for feel-goodself-care. They help my mental health, and overall make me a happier person.

On having a trip to Baku, Azerbaijan, there is a high chance to be amazed by its very hospitable people, who honour traditions very much, and are openminded to all new and modern. Baku is like an old vinyl being remixed nowadays, sewing different cultures together. This is the place for Formula 1 Grand Prix, Eurovision Song Contest, mainstream pop, rock, jazz artists and many more.
The sound of Azerbaijani identity
Music in Baku is one of their main values. You may notice the very first banknote is dedicated to musical instruments. The unique carpet museum has many carpets in collection, one of which respects famous outstanding Azerbaijan composer, professor and academician Uzeyir Hajibeyov. You may experience that the traditional sound is an essential part of the most famous museums in Baku, presenting its importance and variety.
Music forms cultural richness of various peoples and nationalities, as well as the world as a whole. Nice examples of Azerbaijani national music legacy rising on the foundation of their cultural heritage with centuries. It is worthy to mention that a performance of ‘tar’, an ancient stringed music instrument, has been entered by UNESCO on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Azerbaijan’s rich music art has developed over centuries. 16

First information about music has been obtained from historical monuments discovered during archeological excavations – petroglyphs in Gobustan (18th – 3rd millennia B.C.) and Gamigaya (3rd – 1st millennia B.C.). Wind instruments (pipe, zurna, ney) made of clay and animal bones were found during the excavations carried out in Mingachevir in 30s of the past century.
During our short trip there were concerts of Jamiroquai, Christina Aguilera, Dua Lipa, as well as DJs Afrojack, Axwell Ingrosso and Martin Solveig in Crystal Hall, where Eurovision Song Contest 2012 was hosted.
In 2017 a fantastic memorable artist Dihaj represented Azerbaijan on Eurovision Song Contests in Kiev, Ukraine. We hope you enjoy our interview with her in this magazine and we'd like to share a special thanks to Farida Fataliyeva and Gurban Mammadzade.

Ena Sanzman dan ler A Change is Coming Hey y'all! Hope you are good. Here in the island everything is going good despite ripples interfering with the smooth pace of life. But, that's life and I accept those interferences as they snatch me from my comfy zone. Anyway, with that feeling of being "disturbed", I really appreciate the positive outcomes of these doubtful times; with all foundations shaken. There seems to be a common feel of renewal, of letting go of the old and greeting the new, also the invitation to keep up with the flow which is exciting and refreshing. During these trials, one spark gave me an uplift, joy, faith, strength to move on and not to surrender to those pressures, that one song a change was presented in the form of a video: "Brian and his father share the gift of music across generations in this cover of Sam Cooke's classic, "A Change is Gonna Come," in front of a studio audience at Shock City Studios in St. Louis, MO. " Brian Owens, www.brianowenssoul.com
www.AudationMagazine.com
The duo of Owens father & son reminded me how many trials can be presented in front of us and how many times life does provide changes which has been witnessed throughout generations. It also brings the very thought of fighting through the hurdles of life and taking it to the simple fact that hurdles will be hurdles, what we need to change is not only our attitude towards them but also allowing people to step in and help us as well. That attitude, coupled with the acceptance of being challenged from the inside and surrendering to the most high, enables us to witness the goodness that happens around. Ending on that positive note which I believe might inspire in days where your sky might be grey: "And, when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it." Playing The World Around Me We first discovered the creative genius JJ Riordan last month and shared with you his version of ‘Cola’ using Coca Cola bottles. We’re delighted to now present an insight into his mind in which the whole world is his soundboard. Where we see everyday objects, he sees music waiting to be played. The latest creation utilises his new flat by mixing together the percussive wall, the melodic cooking pots, the synth microwave and more making up your next house banger! It’s really fun and you watch with amazement, trying to see all the little sounds and which items they pair up with. Fantastic. JJ Riordan takes us behind the scenes, revealing the process of turning the ordinary into something tuneful...
Hello! My name is JJ Riordan and I compose music using everyday items! I was in the middle of my Masters Degree, in University College Cork, when I began composing with the world around me and since then, I have become increasingly invested in how I, or anyone for that matter, can utilise the everyday locations, rooms and/or items around us to create musical compositions. I have used a number of these media to create music: from Coca-Cola cans and bottles, buildings in Cork, my bathroom, a 20

car etc. and it has been an incredibly fun challenge as I rarely anticipate what the end product will sound like! The first video that I made using everyday sound featured the sounds of a pug and, to my surprise, gained fantastic momentum online. As of writing this article, “Pug Beats” has amassed over 9 million views across a multitude of platforms!
Collecting sound samples is the first thing that I have to do when it comes to composing with my location, item, room etc., and to collect these sounds, I use a handheld microphone system, called the Zoom H5, with various interchangeable microphone “capsules”. When I collect samples, I use a shotgun capsule, as it is an incredibly directional pick-up pattern that picks up little-to-no background sound – offering me a very “raw”, or clean sound, which is preferable, as it’s far easier to work with these clips in the processing steps of this composition. Once I have collected as many samples as I can, I take the recordings to my computer, where I work with them in my DAW of choice - Logic Pro X. In Logic, I can listen back to my various recorded sample clips and extract the sounds that, I believe, have potential as musical “building blocks”. Once I have collected as many samples as I can, I take the recordings to my computer, where I work with them in my DAW of choice - Logic Pro X. In Logic, I can listen back to my various recorded sample clips and extract 21
the sounds that, I believe, have potential as musical “building blocks”. Once I have chosen a tempo and I’ve decided on a certain “feel”, I tend to start by building up the percussive components of my track using Logic’s musical grid interface – using clips and samples that, in my ears, resemble drums of varying timbres, from kick drums to snares, hats etc. When it comes to melodic components, I try to find samples with an intrinsic note, or sonic frequency – and I isolate that frequency using EQ. Once this step is complete, I can drop my “cleaned up” sample into Logic’s stock sampling plug in – the EXS-24, and use this plug-in to “play” my sample in a multitude of notes, and sequences. However, this process is absolutely achievable in every DAW – including Ableton Live, Reason, Fruity Loops etc. As soon as one understands the sampling and trimming, necessary to compose with these everyday sounds, the world opens up to be one massive (potential) soundboard, waiting to be played by a creative mind. Sound is - at the end of the day, vibration - and when we realize that everything vibrates or at least has the potential to be vibrated, they have the potential to be sounded and utilised in a musical manner – it just takes creative thinking! From the streets that we walk everyday, to the rooms we wake up in and the everyday bits and pieces that are often overlooked in our day-to-day proceedings, the potential for musical composition in every little thing makes for an incredibly exciting and musically compelling world. www.youtube.com/c/JJRiordanMusic www.instagram.com/jjriordan

Jazz 1080 How easy was it to create a seamless and professional music performance show in 1960s? Birmingham City University decided to find out by recreating the BBC Two’s ‘Jazz 625’ programme in as much technical accuracy as possible.
jazz concert show, ‘Jazz 625’ – so titled because the newly launched BBC Two was broadcasting on 625-UHF lines (the HD of the time) – the Birmingham City University production has been named ‘Jazz 1080’, reflecting the technological leap in broadcasting since the 1960s. In order to realise this modern incarnation, the researchers and crew worked from original documentation sourced from the BBC Written Archive in Caversham.

Dihaj
Diana, tell us a little about yourself and how you started in music.
The musical group from Azerbaijan are mesmerising with their artistic nature. Their music ranges across incredibly deep and moving pieces, bright and quirky moments, mellow and contemporary songs and more. ‘We Shall See Them Sometimes’ is the latest single from the group and features Uran. This is a very special release to support those with mental health issues, it comes together with the following statement: A society’s mental state is determined by its attitude to people with mental health problems. The story follows a young boy who has had to battle mental problems for the most part of his life, but he is pushing through and following his dreams. The tones encompass the good and bad times very well together with the heartfelt video, the contrast with the tough rap vocal against the soft chorus further pulls at your emotions. The project is in partnership with the art therapy organisation Medeni Niyyet Dihaj proudly represented their country in Eurovision Song Contest 2017 with the powerful ‘Skeletons’ and their debut album ‘The End Of Sunsrise’ was also release later in the year. We had the pleasure of speaking with the group’s singer Diana. 26
I was born in a family where everyone loves music with all their hearts. So at the age of 3 when I was singing, my dad recognized a song “You’re simply the best” by Tina Turner. So it was obvious that my parents brought mw to music school where at the very beginning I launched a folk/jazz ensemble called “Bary Bakh”. The time passed and I went through lots of transformations. I graduated from Baku Music Academy as a choir conductor, then from the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance in London, was developing my love for jazz music singing at Baku Jazz Center etc. In 2014 I finally understood that I am ready to make my own band and brand. So now Dihaj is existing. Who are Dihaj and how did you all get together? What is the atmosphere when working together too? Dihaj is the name of project lead by me. We are three of us. Ali on drums and fx, Anar on guitar and synth and me on vocals, keys and controllers. When we met we all were playing in different bakuish bands. The time came, we got a friendship and the same and familiar “mood” in creation of music. We started and there are no plans to stop. We

All Aboard! Lisbon, Portugal made their debut as hosts for Eurovision Song Contest 2018 and it was another great experience of music and culture. The "All Aboard!" theme welcomes all the countries across the oceans together through Lisbon's history and love of the seas. The show was a mix of beauty, passion, oddness, boredom, wow moments and much more. Here are my highlights... Lithuania's performance of ‘When We’re Old’ by Ieva Zasimauskaitė was very simple and pretty. Her delicate persona takes us through as she gains confidence, the track progresses to show deeper passion. Estonia - WOW! A stunning opera voice, simply breathtaking with ‘La Forza’ by Elina Nechayeva. She wears an incredible dress with a sparkly bodice, but the real amazement of this garment is the entire lower portion being covered with intricate lighting by projectors which changes as an accompanying piece itself throughout the performance. Portugal's entry of ‘O Jardim’ by Cláudia Pascoal is a nice and soft song, rather sweet and modest. United Kingdom's performance of ‘Storm’ by SuRie is upbeat and really quite catchy that it gets the crowd singing. Serbia brings ‘Nova Deca’ by Sanja Ilić & Balkanika with a nice mellow Arabian vibe to the show and a modern vocal pairing, they then turn up the tempo to get you dancing. France's ‘Mercy’ by Madame Monsieur entry is very trendy & chic with a heartfelt story. Hungary refreshes us with a great bit of gnarly rock of ‘Viszlát Nyár’ by AWS. Israel's ’TOY’ by Netta performance is super catchy and modern. She is a very quirky character and has the crowd loving her unique and fun vibe. 34

Ireland delivers a very sweet portrayal of love in all it's beauty with ‘Together’ by Ryan O'Shaughnessy. Cyprus turns up the heat with a flavourful and lively ‘Fuego’ by Eleni Foureira. This is probably the most Eurovision-y performance with a bright and spicy dance number that is an instant party-starter. Unfortunately, usually among our favourites, Azerbaijan did not make this year’s grand final. ‘X My Heart’ by Aisel was uplifting and vibrant, though perhaps not bold enough. My winner? It's between Cyprus and Estonia, but it is Estonia with the amount of times I said "wow". It was simply stunning.
The real winner? Israel. And it is a really good change because it isn't the type of song and act we usually hear or would usually win. It's interesting to see how even traditional competitions are changing with the times in terms of sound and becoming more diverse. Congratulations Israel, catch you next year! www.eurovision.tv Photo by: Thomas Hanses

NEW MUSIC
This is comprised of everything I normally don’t like - it’s flashy, it’s repetitive and it doesn’t really have much depth being centred around fame & fortune. But, it is just an ultra cool track and insanely catchy. The slick flow and production pairing with that gorgeous silver Mercedes. The video is book-ended with his bus journey which gives it a humble touch. A teenage dream of being successful.

This gives me chills. The beautiful melodic guitar and soft atmosphere. The raspy and sweet male vocal. You sink into the warm bass. The stunning, passionate female voice enters. There is an exquisite harmony between the two. 37
Uplifting
A great collection of underground bass & garage.

‘Leaflet’ by Libranine holds a really cool syncopation of sounds. The edgy main strand leads us through while a meld of electronic blips swirls around. The calm interlude together with the lighter melodies bring a mindful tone. We are also treated to a vibrant edit from Ron With Leeds, and a lively dance edit from Milad E & Mehdi Milani. With quirky detail and vibrating synth structures, Libranine unveils the front page character of 'Leaflet', exposing the beat as the perfect accent for any late night after-hours party or the backdrop for a peaceful moment of bliss while you relax on a springtime escape from the pressures of life. Balancing shadowsoaked tones with a consistent rhythm, Libranine hones his creative prowess to bring 'Leaflet' full circle as you close your eyes and get lost in a sound inspired introspective session of dance music therapy. With the infectious beat still lingering in the far reaches of our psyche, 'Leaflet' begins to morph with new spirit as Milad E & Mehdi Milani swoop in for some serious remix action. Stepping up a level from blissful retreat to mainstage power anthem, Milad E & Mehdi Milani pull out all the stops to turn the page on 'Leaflet', leaving us breathless as our bodies ignite with energy on the dancefloor. With just one more face of 'Leaflet' left to explore, German DJ and production duo Ron With Leeds brings us back for an uplifting progressive romp under the sun with a couple brilliant tricks under their sleeve. Implementing a brief chopped up vocal detail we are led to the threshold of a glorious build as the melody swells. In this moment we are once again whisked away to fly far above the clouds with no plan or desire to ever come back down. www.soundcloud.com/libra9 39
‘Pay Attention’ by J Webb featuring Honours Tea is a steamy number where carnal instincts take over. Her vocals show her strength yet there’s also a hint of something mischievous. The male comes in with a rugged, no-nonsense attitude. Pay Attention is the new single from London power vocalist J Webb, featuring rap heavyweight Honours Tea. Described as Rihanna meets Anne Marie, J Webb is a no-messing force of nature who embodies female empowerment and self-reliance. The young singer says “Pay Attention is a female bedroom anthem, showing your lover you’re not taking a backseat - his full attention is needed from start to finish. I had a lot of fun building the track and have even more fun performing it.” J Webb is a self-employed model, performer, and businesswoman who is as savvy as she is sassy. She says, “as an artist, I want my music to serve the same qualities which I needed as a child, an expression of all emotions and most importantly the love of self.... strong, confident, sexually confident and above all, true to how I feel... no sugar coating.” From an early age, music truly served its purpose in J Webb’s life. She was dependent on music to help her cope with strong emotions, happy, sad, in love or angry... music always held the invisible answer. J Webb was an instant hit as a model and she has driven her own career from the start. She says, “being a self-employed woman was the greatest gift I could have given to myself. But now I’m ready to make music again.” J Webb reconnected with a producer she’d known since she was 16. The pair had worked on a demo together which landed J Webb a deal with Sony. The leading track Down and Dirty was a huge success and won J Webb a loyal fan base in countries all over the world. Now on her own label, J Webb is unstoppable. Pay Attention to this fresh new talent. www.jwebbmusic.com 40

‘Places’ by Parsifal + Helas is a journey of sound. We ride along the intense atmosphere, colourful shakes and tapping percussion dances around us giving a tropical vibe. The strange movements in pace is enthralling. This duo is a connection between two friends and dj/producers around the same passion and taste for the electronic music. Parsifal the swiss italian and Helas the french, decided to fuse the rules of the Deep and House music with more organics, analogs and modern sounds surrounded by the spirit and the energy of a club's track. The 'Places' Ep is composed by two tracks 'Places' and 'Horizons'. 'Places' is a progressive Deep House tune, characterised by some energic drums that support a very melodic arpeggiator, all surrounded by played percussive elements. 'Horizons' is a more introspective track: the very deep and organic drums are the foundations for the melodic pads and simple reefs. The africans percussions with the children voices remind us other times making this track a perfect tune for an opening set! www.facebook.com/parsifalmusic

Happiness is fragile. A moving statement from ‘Flashback’ by T8PES. The tuneful piano lulls you whilst his bubbly flow reminisces of the raving days. The obsession of music. The beat drops into a hazy good feeling with little glittery touches here and there. The gorgeous soulful female is an interesting contrast to the piece. A retro break drags us into euphoria. Before selfies, checking in, emojis, online invites, crowdsourcing, instagram, downloading, uploading and pre-loading, there was a time when clubbing was king. A time when grime was the stuff underneath your nails that came from being at an after-after-club in a disused factory on a Sunday morning. When Sunday afternoon was as popular for raving as Friday night. A time when arranging to meet someone meant arranging to see them on the dancefloor. A time when club bouncers wanted everyone to be high; the highs were most definitely illegal and the lows came midweek. A time when clubbers would roam the streets looking for somewhere else to go well after the sun had come up.
Inspiration… The track was inspired by a love for 90's rave & garage culture: the music, the clubnights, the feeling of belonging. Flashback is a trip down that renowned lane of memories full of highs and lows, but mainly highs. The agony and ecstasy of misspent youth, tribal fever that came with 90's dance culture, the euphoric rush of togetherness that could only be found on the packed d a n c e fl o o r s o f n i g h t c l u b s a n d r a v e s a r o u n d t h e c o u n t r y . Everything comes with a label nowadays, ‘is it Garage, House, Dubstep?’ No mate, it's a nostalgic homage to a p e r i o d o f t i m e t h a t d e fi n e d o u r l i v e s . A n e r a t h a t i s s t i l l well and truly alive in the hearts of many.
The Government passed laws to break up outdoor raves but the demand to be loved up meant pre-clubs, super-clubs, post clubs, club nights in social clubs, and pubs pretending to be clubs replaced them. And Birmingham had them all. A city big enough to have all types of clubs but small enough so everyone would know someone in each. Clubs like Tin Tins, The Q Club, The Steering Wheel, Nosey Parkers, Code, Bakers, Bonds, Snobs, The Dome, Liberties, Toots, The Institute, Pulse, and The Venue could all be full at the same time. And when ‘wide-eyed’ people wandered out of those, there was Dusk til Dawn, Hush, and The West End Bar to welcome them. 42

This was the 1990’s in all its ear-drum splitting glory and brand new Birmingham outfit T8PES has captured all that joy in 3 minutes of unbridled brilliance.
Creative Process… The track is completely self produced with the music actually conceived back in 2014. I wrote the track in late 2016 just reminiscing on things that stood out from my youth and that special period of my life when I became completely immersed in rave and dance culture. We began making a video for it last year which took well over 6 months to make due to me going to New York, the directors being extremely busy with other projects, extreme weather forcing us to cancel shoots. The video really was a labour of love! But it was well worth it and we're really happy with the result.
Over a Garage track with a 90’s rave edge come lyrics that will either transport you back or take you there for the first time. The track is called 'Flashback', just like the legendary Birmingham club night that started in 1997 and catered for those clubbers who wanted to go back to their glory days of early 90’s raves, when feelings of ecstasy were always in reach and breakbeats would create scorch marks on the dancefloors. T8PES said: "Flashback is a trip down that renowned lane of memories full of highs and lows, but mainly highs. Deliciously dark and deadly.

‘The Lucid EP’ by KLAX is spine-tingling. There is such a satisfying and alluring blend of the dark bass against the soft, hazy vocals in the first two tracks. ‘Become’ is my highlight, a track you can just lose yourself to. The final three step down into the dirty, gnarly side. Brighton collective Klax return to Critical for their first EP in over 12 months. 5 tracks of high grade contemporary D&B, featuring the sublime collaboration with Bristol based vocalist Charli Brix and super tech with Kyrist. www.soundcloud.com/klax 46

The ‘Milky Pops’ EP by Gribzy holds a very minimal style to the sound, yet has a nice level of depth, texture and variety. The title track has a huge heart of good feelings and an old school warmth. The darker ‘Hidden Truth’ plays with a tough bass which is offset by the sweeter notes. Royal Flush brings a fresh bass tone to his remix. Downplay is proud to present the new EP from Bristol producer Gribzy. ‘Milky Pops’ builds a relentless rhythm on shuffling beats and 2-step percussion before backing into a huge, undulating bassline melody that will keep the dancefloor bumping for the duration. Gribzy keeps the vibe interesting across the length of the track by adding extra spice with FX, percussion and keys to proceedings. ‘Hidden Truth’ takes a darker path to the same point with ominous keys and disjointed vocal samples coalescing into a massive 4X4 stomper with meaty bass stabs that will test the biggest and best soundsystems this summer. Downplay label mates Royal Flush wrap things up with a classic UKG refix of the lead track that has a distinct dub flavour that feels deceptively simple, but draws you in as the track progresses. www.facebook.com/gribzybeats 47
‘Trip’ by Dan Sieg dances across the line of fragility and grit. The beautifully enchanting intro moves into a tough hardstyle force. The pace quickens and the hard energy increases. The atmospheric breaks brings back the soft enlightened state. Originally from Sydney, Australia but now resident in Los Angeles, Dan has been patiently releasing a sequence of highly polished and well thoughtout progressive house tracks since 2013, most recently on Mango Alley with his stunning ‘Submood / Klunker’ EP. Emotive keys kick things off, priming a laid back 128bpm arpeggiated-bass and crisp percussion. Electronic layers suggest a journey through an urban landscape, the Kraftwerk-esque motif and subtle portamento counter-melody interplaying delightfully. www.dansieg.com
‘Motions’ by Allende begins with the atmosphere of being surrounded by nature with the flowing waters nearby. The piano is raw and melodic. The soulful beat drops together with jangling sounds giving a tropical vibe. There is a lot of variety in this production creating interesting moods. It’s a real journey. This is a truly beautiful piece of music from Finland’s Allende, something of an opus in its scope perhaps, as it traverses the bridge between progressive breaks, lounge-chill and trance in one >10 minute journey. ‘Motions’ is centred around a poignant piano theme which emerges at succinct points in the arrangement, but never labours the point. The mid-track descent into crisp breaks is a real beard-stroking moment, and the final ascent aided by burbling trance arpeggiators finally lets the sun through the curtains. 10 points for ambition & a gold star for execution. www.allendemusic.net

‘Cut It Off’ by Libby Whitehouse is a pretty and trendy song. Her voice is fragile and sweet, drawing you in to her passion. The colourful production holds a lot of interesting detail with soft melodic tones, a soulful rhythm and a subtle though naughty bass. 8-year old Brighton beauty Libby Whitehouse is set to release her new single Cut It Off, featuring stunning vocals, perfect for radio hooks and a remix to kill the dancefloor. Libby describes Cut It Off as "Looking back on a situation that once really hurt you and mocking it, or knowing what you need to do if that situation happens again...which is to cut it off and know your worth. I’m all about girl power and the message that girls shouldn't take shit from anyone!" Though only 17, Libby released three singles in 2017, ‘Hands on Me’, ‘Recipe’ and ‘What I Want’, gaining her the attention of The Great Escape, I Luv Live, and fashion brand Pretty Little Thing. Cut It Off will be followed by a much anticipated EP, due for release in September 2018. Libby attends the prestigious BIMM college, which boasts alumni such as James Bay, Izzy Bizu and Tom Odell. Her achievements in 2017 prove she is well on her way to putting her name alongside these great artists. With landing a spot in the Top 30 in the ‘Spotify UK Viral Chart’, to Number 1 and 2 in the Brighton Spotify chart for sixty consecutive days it is clear big things are on the way for this singer-songwriter. Her growing fanbase agree; in October 2017 she was the most streamed artist in Brighton. www.twitter.com/libbywhitehouse 49
