Amidst this excitement, Elexis Ansley took time out to speak to us about her journey… Tell us about yourself and how you got into music. I first learned that I could sing at age 3 and from then on I knew that I wanted to be a singer. I started playing the flute at age 9 and I pursued it pretty heavily. Flute was my principal instrument in college. I sang in my high school talent shows, choir, madrigals, and at church. I learned the bass guitar by sophomore year and played in the school jazz band. Music was healing for me growing up, an escape almost, and that was true for me regarding all of the arts. Your latest single ‘Way Up’ is interesting, can you tell us the ideas behind this song?
