16:9 WIDE SCREEN ASPECT RATIO
Just like HDTV, the WatchGuard® 4RE™ HD system records video in a 16:9 wide screen aspect ratio (versus a conventional 4:3 ratio where the image area is almost square). This wide screen aspect ratio is the ideal format for in-car video systems because it wastes fewer pixels on the sky and the vehicle’s hood – a full 25 percent fewer wasted pixels (which reduces file sizes and increases transfer speeds).

LICENSE PLATE LEGIBILITY
With 720p resolution, the WatchGuard® 4RE™ HD system provides license plate legibility up to 38 feet away even at the widest angle zoom level. Most conventional systems are limited to approximately 18 feet, and systems that tout a 68-degree lens often cannot read plates much beyond the length of the hood.

Never miss anything again! This revolutionary feature, first introduced in the industry standard WatchGuard DV-1 in-car video system, has enabled thousands of agencies to avoid countless lawsuits. It has also helped solve hundreds of criminal cases, incluing murders and robberies that no other in-car video system would have captured. Record-After-the-Fact is a WatchGuard® exclusive technology that provides truth when any other system would have left you empty handed.
AUTOMATIC RECORD OVERFLOW
SIMULTANEOUS RECORD AND PLAYBACK
If the USB flash drive is filled to capacity or is missing, overflow video is stored on the integrated hard drive and is automatically copied on to the next USB drive inserted.
WatchGuard’s 4RE HD technology allows an officer to review existing video without inter-rupting a live recording. In fact, 4RE will allow simultaneous recording of all cameras and all audio sources during officer in-car playback.
