Deadwind Nordic crime series mixing murder investigation and personal drama Deadwind is a highly thrilling and emotional Nordic crime series mixing crime investigation and the personal drama of the main character Sofia Karppi, a female detective in her 40s who has just lost her husband and has been left alone with two children to care for. As any single parent would, she is struggling to balance both work and family while still mourning the loss of her husband. Finnish construction company Tempo is planning a borough in Helsinki, which will generate its own energy through a private wind turbine park. Things get complicated when a woman’s body is found underneath the construction site. This becomes Sofia Karppi’s first case, and it will have a major impact on her own life, as well as on the upper echelons of society. The murder investigation sees Karppi and her snobbish new partner question environmental politics, corruption and personal secrets, but most of all it will make Karppi take risks she shouldn’t. But she does because she feels increasingly more close and connected to the murdered young woman and her family.

The Emperor The Emperor is based on the true story of awarded hero cop Jari Aarnio, who busted dozens of prominent drug lords. Now the veteran drug squad chief is in prison himself. The Emperor follows the rise and fall of the most powerful and colorful narcotics cop in Finnish crime history. Jari Aarnio lived with constant death threats as he cracked down on some of the most dangerous drug lords while working as a drug squad chief in the Helsinki Narcotics Unit for three decades, until 2013. In November 2013 Aarnio was arrested himself, accused of smuggling drugs in co-operation with his snitch, leader of the United Brotherhood criminal organization. Aarnio spent the next two years in a primitive prison cell in total isolation, while the biggest drug trial in the country’s criminal history is tarnished by inconsistencies, incompetence and a media frenzy. In December 2016, the Finnish court sentenced Jari Aarnio to 10 years in prison for drug-smuggling and corruption.

The Peacemaker -1-

A team of peacemakers are sent to resolve international conflicts but must face even scarier opponents: their own unresolved pasts. -1-

The Peacemaker is a drama series about a team of peacemakers who are sent to resolve international conflicts. The main character is Finnish Foreign Secretary Ann-Mari Koistinen, who is forced to resign because of an arms trade-related information leak inside her party. Ann-Mari would finally have the chance to leave politics, but suddenly she is invited to lead the conflict resolution in Turkey, where the conflict between the Kurds and the Turks has escalated. Ann-Mari has vowed never to return to Turkey where she lived in her childhood with her missionary parents. But Ann-Mari accepts the assignment and puts together a team of peace negotiators. The negotiations between the Turks and the Kurds seem to be leading to a peace treaty, but the situation in Alhambra escalates. The reconciliation with Ann-Mari’s past stifles the whole peacemaking process; for how long will she and her team need to risk their lives before she can have mercy on herself and find inner peace?

The Barricade Forget order. It’s being recreated. Tessa ends up in a tiny flat in a small town without money, support or a clue how to survive. Behind this is a little mistake that escalated into a divorce from her bitter ex and the threat of losing her kids. Tessa meets the women of the Sewing Circle, finding out they don’t knit socks there but instead have formed an underground Home Guard unit with the mission of keeping the hoods safe. Founder Ellu has had enough of seeing drug needles, the unemployed, and immigrants with more benefits than the born citizens. Tessa needs friends. When the city wants to close the club, Ellu needs Tessa’s connections to the city fathers. Circle’s actions get more radical. When the going gets tough, their true motives come to light. Starting as peacekeepers, the women end up posing a bigger threat to the surroundings than anything they’ve fought against. We follow the story of the SC from the POVs of its members. Each episode includes a supporting B-story, concentrating on solving the community problems where related action takes place.

S.O.S - The Sands of Sarasvati One team, one task – to halt a single climate change event that is about to destroy the world. A group of ordinary men and women faced with an extraordinary task – banding together to halt a single climate change event that is about to destroy the world. The story links the icy worlds of the frozen north – Finland and Greenland – with the vibrant cities and landscapes of Gujarat in India. They are linked not only by being part of one fragile world, but also by the ancient flood myths of Noah and Manu. Could the ancient stories be a warning from the past about the future of the planet? They are a diverse group of outsiders from all corners of the world led by Danish submarine captain Lars Thorssen. He must give up his usual loyalty to the side that pays best, since very soon there will be nowhere left to spend it. He abandons a contract for Big Oil and throws in his lot, and his ageing ex-Soviet sub, with the group. Each with their own skills and problems, they are forced to band together to achieve the impossible – to save the world from a series of massive climate change natural disasters.

Invisible Heroes A rookie diplomat urgently needs to find new ways to save peoples’ lives and outwit his government’s Cold War politics during the Chilean military coup in 1973. In 1973, when Pinochet’s tanks fill the streets of Santiago, the life of young Finnish diplomat Tapani Brotherus changes overnight. Having focused on business meetings and golf, he starts taking risks and saving lives. Tapani works in secret, not only from the junta, but also from the media and the Finnish government, which proclaims a neutral and passive political stance. While Tapani is risking his career and the safety of his family by hiding refugees in his home, the Finnish press accuses him of doing nothing. During the Cold War, Tapani co-works with colleagues from both West and East. When his hero, the Swedish ambassador, is sent home and the East German embassy is closed, his task grows even bigger.
