PORTFOLIO Audrey Chan MSc Landscape Architecture Movile: +65 9829 1627 Contact me on audreyc129@gmail.com
Landscape design is more than a career, it is a monument of my lifelong passion, and a gateway for human to reconnect with nature. Grew up surrounded by skyscrapers, I dreamt to blend nature into urban environments and encounter wildlife within the city. Greener and comfortable living spaces where flora and fauna can co-exist with humankind, a comforting space that soothes and fosters our fascination and stewardship to nature. Passionate to make our urban environment more livable and compatible to other living beings without majorly interfering our lifestyle, I work with sustainable drainage and greening techniques to incorporate natural elements into urban structures.

Completed Internships: Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl, Harris Hobbs Landscapes, Earthasia International Ltd., LWK Construction and Design Ltd.
Perspective of a multifunctional public space in a commercial complex
Currently working as an Interior Designer at MET Interior During my placement in Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl, I have familiarised myself to Singapore's working culture, and acquired knowledge on the local building guidelines and certification schemes. I have assisted in 5 major projects (P. 4) and 2 international competitions (P. 5) in North-eastern Singapore with multiple architects and govenment departments. I have managed projects from inception to completion as an interior designer in MET Interior, with stronger negotiation and develop my abilities in detail/interior design. On the other hand, I was professionally trained as a draftsman while working in Harris Hobbs Landscapes to draft construction drawings of residential and commercial scales, details and specifications accurately for tender purposes. (P. 6-7) 4 Working Experiences
Rendering of amenities on a promenade edge
Section rendering of a rain garden on a retaining wall
Plan rendering of site boundary connecting to adjacent developments.
Flood levels diagram
(A) Schematic diagrams for viewing tower
(A) Masterplan for sports park complex section of the site

Gem in the Muddied Waters - Manhattan September 2018 - May 2019 Manhattan, New York, United States Key Design Focus: Site Analysis, Urban Landscape, Masterplanning, Hydrological Engineering, Planting Design The restless island of Manhattan, since its humble beginning as a marshland has been altered heavily to accommodate the growing needs of its denizen’s consumption. The altered manmade environment had caused unseen reactions from nature. An abundant presence of maps related to hurricane Sandy reinforced my interest in resilient landscape, leading to my proposal of a resilient waterfront in Lower Manhattan in response to the rising sea level. Part of the affected area shall be converted into a tidal marsh, as a productive landscape nurturing harvestable consumables, a flood mitigation barrier, ecological retreat and an educational ground for reconnecting with nature while creating new points of recreation interest and commercial tourism.

Manhattan
(Above) Masterplan for Battery Park and Battery Park City in Lower Manhattan. In repsonse to more extreme storm events leading to flooding, multiple flood mitigation strategies are implemented into the design.
Succession of the Lower Manhattan marsh as a part of flood mitigation. The marsh is also an ecological retreat to re-introduce biodiversity into New York City, and an education trail for youngsters and family to experience nature in proximity to urban city. The marsh shall be artificailly engineered to retain desposits on the coast, then naturally retained by plantation Winter Month

Instead of diagrammatic analysis, research on Manhattan were conducted through adding information onto base maps and reproducing them through acetone printing. It filters and compresses information to generate design focus

Revitalising the Monumental Sanctuary - Haig Park January-April 2018 Haig Park, Canberra, Australia
Key Design Focus: Site Analysis, Urban Landscape, Sustainable Urban Drainage, Ecological Design Sandwiched between the busy Braddon city centre and quiet residential neighbourhoods, Haig Park is Canberr'a living monument. Used as a windbreak, the park is severely underused due to safety concerns, including lack of visibility and amenities. My proposal rearranges the park into different microhabitats to restore biodiveristy while adding new functions across the different areas for passive to active pursuits. Haig Park will become a new central public realm while its historical, strong physical presence is not compromised.

From Fight to Flight - A New Dynamic, Living Hub in the London Royal Docks March - April 2017 London Docks, East London, United Kingdom
Masterplan Proposal for Royal Docks Region
Key Design Focuts: Urban Regeneration, Phased Masterplanning, Detail Design, Phytoremediation, Post-Industrial Landscape Situated 30 minutes from the city centre, this previously industrial area has been out of reach and underused by the city. My proposal revitalises the site into a residential-intensive neighbourhood with multiple commerical complexes to stimulate business opportunities in 50 years.
1) 5 years in development
2) 10 years in development
3) 20 years in development
4) Masterplan fully realised
To remediate the industrial pollution, phytoremediation devices and ecological structures are proposed to re-introduce wildlife into the urban area and remove pollutants.

A 2019 master graduate from University of Edinburgh in landscape architecture Phone: +65 9829 1627 Email: audreyc129@gmail.com Linkedin: linkedin.com/in/lcaudreychan-129 Grew up surrounded by skyscrapers, I dreamt to blend nature into urban environments. Greener and comfortable living spaces where flora and fauna can co-exist with humankind, and a space that fosters our fascination and stewardship to nature. Passionate to make our urban environment more livable and compatible to other living beings, I work with sustainable drainage and greening techniques to incorporate natural elements into urban structures. Landscape design is more than a career, it is a monument of my lifelong passion, and a gateway for human to reconnect with nature.
My proposal aimed to create a mobile, modular housing complex with accessible greening on a daily basis.
