Multi-platinum Grammy Award winning recording artist. New York Times best-selling author. Mother. Entrepreneur. What has been an equally rewarding and trying career, ask her how she’s come this far and she’ll simply reply, “FAITH.”

Evans with a career spanning over a decade in the music industry, Faith Evans has released three Platinum-certified albums (Faith, Keep The Faith and Faithfully), the Gold-certified The First Lady, and the holiday staple, A Faithful Christmas. Evans is a five-time Grammy nominee and winner for “Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group” in 1998 for “I’ll Be Missing You,” an homage to her late husband and hip-hop legend Notorious B.I.G. Something About Faith is the sixth studio album by American R&B singer Faith Evans, which was released on her own imprint, Prolific Music Group on October 5, 2010 in the United States. Distributed through E1 Music, the album marks Evans' first independent release, and accomplished a major feat when it debuted at #1 on Billboard's Independent Album Chart, staying there for 2 consecutive weeks. The album features the Grammy-nominated single, "Gone Already", and includes production by Salaam Remi, Chucky Thompson, Carvin & Ivan, Malik Pendleton and Mike City. Certainly her most feature-heavy album to date, Something About Faith features an elite lineup of female vocal powerhouses that include Kelly Price, Lil’ Mo, Keyshia Cole and Jessica Reedy (BET's Sunday Best), International superstar Estelle as well as Hip-Hop luminaries Raekwon and fellow Newark native, Redman.

A Faithful Christmas is the fifth studio album and holiday staple by American R&B singer Faith Evans, released October 25, 2005 on Capitol Records. The album features a collection of traditional holiday songs, including "Merry Christmas Baby", "White Christmas", "O Come All Ye' Faithful" and "Santa Baby" where Faith delivers soaring soulful melodies and exceptional vocal arrangements. The album also contains original future holiday classics, some of which were co-written with her daughter, Chyna Griffin.

The First Lady is the fourth studio album by American recording artist Faith Evans. Released on Capitol Records in April of 2005, it marked Evans' debut on the EMI subsidiary, (following her departure from Bad Boy Records in 2003). The First Lady features production from The Neptunes, Chucky Thompson, Mario Winans and Philly-based duo Carvin & Ivan. The Gold-selling album debuted at #2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 with an opening week sales of 157,000 units, giving Evans her highest-selling debut and best ever first-week sales. The First Lady featured the Top 40 smash "Again" and the #1 Hot Dance Club Play hit, "Mesmerized" and was nominated for Best Female R&B/Soul Album at the 20th Soul Train Music Awards.

! 8

Faithfully is the third studio album by American singer Faith Evans, released on Bad Boy Records in November of 2001. The Grammy-nominated, Platinum-selling album was critically-acclaimed, and featured production by Sean Combs, The Neptunes, Michael Angelo Saulsberry, and Mario Winans. Praised by fans and critics alike as Faith's most eclectic and musically diverse project (released to date), Faithfully spawned multiple hit singles including the ladies anthem, "You Gets No Love", the R&B crossover hit single "I Love You", and the summer club banger, "Burnin' Up" featuring Missy Elliott, Diddy & Freeway. This would be Faith's last album recorded on Bad Boy Records before her departure from the label in 2003. Keep the Faith is the second studio album by American singer Faith Evans, released on Bad Boy Records in October of 1997. The Platinum-selling album was Evans' return to music following the untimely death of her husband and Hip Hop Icon, the late-great Notorious B.I.G. The album featured the undeniable first single "Love Like This", which was arguably the best uptempo R&B song released that year. Using a sample of Chic's "Cheer", Faith's soprano vocals soaring over the track coupled with her signature harmonious arrangements made for the perfect club banger. The follow up track "All Night Long" featuring label head and impresario, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, also burned up the charts and received mass cross over success. The third and final single "Never Gonna Let You Go", was an unlikely hit that amazingly bounded 40 chart positions from number 57 to number 17 on the strength of a CD single release. It also became Faith's first SOLO number 1 R&B single. Faith is the debut album by American R&B singer Faith Evans, released on Bad Boy Records in August of 1995. The Platinum-selling album was dubbed an R&B classic and praised by critics and fans alike. Faith featured production by The Hitmen members Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs and Chucky Thompson, as well as Herb Middleton, and JeanClaude Olivier. Spawning the Gold-selling hits "You Used to Love Me" and "Soon As I Get Home", Faith also contains a cover of the Rose Royce's single "Love Don't Live Here Anymore" featuring Queen of Hip Hop/Soul, Mary J. Blige. Hailed as the First Lady of Sean Combs' Bad Boy Entertainment, Evans is blessed with a voice that elevates her above much of her cookie-cutter, hip hop soul peers. It'd be easy to dismiss her debut as a collection of flash-inthe-pan, trendy r&b, but the album is far better--and deeper--than you think. From start to finish, the album soars as a timeless album of streetsavvy soul, and remains surprisingly consistent. With a voice that Puffy says is reminiscent of rain, it's no wonder it can sound as lilting as a summer shower or as electric as a thunderstorm. Faith's instrument potential seems boundless....more Whitney than Mary, more classic than nouveau, Faith is the album poised to place Evans at the top of the mountain of young soul divas.

Faith performed live in her hometown of Newark, New Jersey. She showed up and showed out at NJPAC Mission Entertainments All Black Affair. Her voice sounded better than the recording. She looked incredible, her body was on point. It was great to see legendary artist come back out and reinvent themselves even better than before and Faith has definitely done that.

Newark resident, 26, is second victim in fatal Belleville crash

www.NorthJersey.com reported by: ROMAN J. USCHAK STAFF WRITERÂ |Â BELLEVILLE TIMES

Both victims in the fatal car crash that occurred on Route 21 in Belleville have now been identified. Jonathan Fontenot and Terrence Morris, both 26 and of Newark, were killed in November 3, 2014 crash, according to the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. The prosecutor's office released Fontenot's name last Thursday, but at the time said formal identification of the second victim, Morris, was not finalized.

The Dart was driven by a 27-year-old Bloomfield man who was not injured. The Log on to : www.TheMovementMagazine.net

truck driver, a 48-year-old male, also did not sustain any injuries. The prosecutor's office did not release the names of those drivers.

The tractor trailer and one of the passenger vehicles were on fire when initial first responders arrived. Belleville police and fire departments responded, along with Newark and Nutley fire departments and the Newark Police Department. New Jersey State Police also responded to the scene and assisted Belleville units.

!

The crash shut down a portion of Route 21 into the early morning hours Tuesday. An electronic news alert stated that the accident scene had been cleared and all lanes had been reopened to traffic by 6 a.m. the following day. Celebrating the Life of

Terrance “NUGGIE” Morris Crying as I type this, trying to muster up all of the courage I can to create the sort of dedication that my nephew would have been proud of. First off I have to say that I was very proud to be Nuggie’s aunt. My two sisters and I were pregnant all at the same time and we raised our boys like brothers together (Nuggie, Bam & Pooh). This was one of the hardest things that I have had to deal with in my life thus far other than the passing of my father back in 85. Nuggie was a very silly young man, his smile was infectious and if you were not happy, he would find a way to change that by doing something that would make you smile. It was truly a gift, he absolutely was the entertainment of the family. You never had to ask him to perform or act silly he would automatically do it. Every vacation we went on we always took Nuggie, I only had one son “Tyree” and he always wanted someone to play with so of course Nuggie was always willing to go anywhere, you only had to ask him once…lol…But the love of his life was his 3 year old daughter Skye Bella Morris of whom is the spitting image of him, he did everything for her, he was becoming a better man because of her. I truly understand that we all have to leave this earth at some point but no rational thinking will un-break my heart. I believe that God will get us all thru this terrible loss, in time. Thank you Jesus for letting us borrow one of your angels for just a short time. Rest easy in Paradise my Nu-Nug, I will always love you. - Audrey Egypt Blanc

Celebrating the Life of

Jonathan “Dollah” Fontenot My sister Niecey (Nuggie’s mother) had the biggest heart, she would allow any of her sons friends to stay at her house, to eat, play do whatever. She treated them like her children and Jonathan was one of those friends. He was so very funny, he began to start performing his comedy at shows in New Jersey and New York, he was always trying out new material on anyone who would listen. This is one of the reasons why they got along so very well. Whenever you see one of the you see the other, both making jokes trying to make each other laugh even if it wasn’t funny they made it funny anyway. Jonathan was a very respectable young man, I actually never saw him upset. He was so very positive an upbeat, his spirit was pure. Even though you are not my biological nephew, we all considered him an honorary family member. I will always remember your laugh and silly ways you made everyone smile. You both were taken away from us too soon and you guys will be forever missed. May God continue to Bless your family and guide them all towards healing. Dollah “Cheeze” you will never be forgotten. - Audrey Egypt Blanc

TOTAL a female R&B Group initially signed to Sean Combs Bad Boy Record Label, started out with (3) three members (Pam, Kima & Keisha). But to my surprise when it was time for their performance at Mission Entertainments All Black Affair held at NJPAC only (2) members was gearing up to perform. By: Audrey Egypt Blanc I was a little apprehensive at first, but of course myself and the entire audience were at the edge of our seats wondering if they still had it, if they would sound good with a two part harmony instead of three, how would they interact together onstage, we were all wondering if it was a mistake to try and venture off without one of their members.

had six packs, their gym game must be serious. The leather outfits fit them like a glove, the audience and myself was pleasantly surprised and they were well worth the wait. After the initial shock wore off and they began to sing, I almost forgot that they even had another member of the group. The ladies exploded on the stage. They sounded just as good as the actual record or better. The crowd was just as excited as Pam & Kima was performing all of their hits.

First off, they both looked INCREDIBLE, I would even go as far as saying they looked even better than back in the day. I guess good wine does get better with time. Their bodies were amazing, they ! 20

You could actually feel Godly presence, it was almost like witnessing the true power of the almighty God. I don’t think that the audience was aware of the anointing that was on Pam & Kima. I felt it, I’m sure everyone else felt it too. When you believe with all of your soul and allow God to do his work, you can reach unreachable heights. And we all

I am so very proud of these young ladies, they are going to be instrumental in making artists believe that you can attain anything, if your heart is right and you are right with God and you are determined to work hard at your craft. “TWO GUYS KNOW LIES” Usman Sharif “On a JOURNEY to the TOP...enjoying every moment along the way!” To say that Usman Sharif is one of the entertainment industry’s, and in fact the world's rising talents would be an understatement. With numerous high-profiled feature film dramas and comedies and guest starring sitcom appearances credited to his name and a list of successful businesses he personally owns and in some cases operate, the cliché, “the sky is the limit” truthfully applies to this extraordinary, yet humble man. Born and raised in Newark, New Jersey, Usman has two sisters and three brothers. Although his parents divorced when he was eight, Usman remained close with his Father whom he credits his strong faith and entrepreneurial spirit. This lead Usman to eventually major in business administration at Essex County College, graduating in 1994. Usman then went on to Kean University in Union, NJ in pursuit of his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Management. He launched a number of successful businesses over the next several years yet his inclination and desire to entertain grew in his heart and soul. In 2002, Usman confirmed his feelings of wanting to entertain the masses when one evening while watching…

NEW MUSIC - NEW VIDEOS

From opening up for legends/greats such as Notorious BIG, Das Efx, MOP, Kwame, Nas, Naughty By Nature, Lauryn Hill, Red Man, Lords Of The Underground, and Styles P to opening up for the likes of Jae Millz, Black Moon, and Method Man...Hastyle has definitely left his footprints in the concrete of the city. His live hip hop/classic rock band "Uncle Al" walked away with TIA's (The Industry's Alternative) Breath of Fresh Air award, all while having songs in rotation on nationally and internationally syndicated radio. He's performed at countless venues across the US, and has formed a solid following by releasing the content that he feels hip hop lacks in this day and age. From featuring on songs with some of NJ's elite local talent to releasing songs like Dirty Jerz feat. Doitall (of Lords Of The Underground), Sundance, and DJ Ran Hastyle figures he's put on for his city/state locally, and now it's time to put on for his city/state on a broader scale. His latest single Fallen Angels feat. Tony James really hits home, because it speaks out against the black on black violence in his community as well as the violence in ghettos across the nation. People cry genuine tears as they listen to Hastyle keep it 100 over the heart felt Loud Rap Beats production, and watch the video as Reelistic Pixelz paints the visual for the audience to get a deeper look in the hearts, minds, and souls of the ghetto.

Hastyle

Along with working on his solo effort "The Newark Riots", Hastyle has also dropped a mix cd entitled Dirty Jerz (a meeting of the rhymez) Vol 1...a compilation of some of the hottest signed & unsigned talent out of Jersey. This classic mix cd has reached 4,000+ downloads within the first month of it's release date. One thing is for sure...And two is for certain...He is definitely destined for greatness, and won't stop until he achieves just that. Be on the look out for his Debut LP "The Newark Riots" early summer of 2015...

Should we walk around like this to avoid being KILLED?

We’re In a War with No Weapons Where’s The Love If this is truly how most officers feel about us? then, we must prepare ourselves, protect ourselves and stay together. What should we teach our children?

We’re In a War with No Weapons – Where’s The Love Are we not important? Are we not human? Do we not matter? Does our life not have any value in society? Am I the wrong color? Is it because my skin has the shade you all tan for? Where’s the justice for us? Where are our leaders? Why is this norm? It is NEVER OKAY to kill anyone. Right is right, and wrong is still wrong. Police brutality has always been a problem in the minority community and when it’s brought to light (on video/cameras), the evidence is there but we still get SMACKED in the face with NO INDICTMENTS/NO CHARGES for a White Caucasian police officer after murdering a black African American man. Where is the justice for these families? This has to STOP! We need a SOLUTION RIGHT NOW! No one should be above the law. If our current laws are not equally for us all, then it’s time to change them NOW! This is just not a New York problem, a Ferguson Problem, or nor is it a New Jersey problem, this is a national problem. If I had one wish, just one; I would wish that we ALL would be treated equally. Why are we portrayed as the scum of the earth? I am heart-broken, angry, and completely disgusted. As a Black African American mother of two, one being my six year old son, what do his father and I say to him? That even though son you may be doing the right thing, there is still a possibility that you might be profiled and harassed by a white police officer just because. It’s awful. The police are supposed to protect and serve us (the entire community). In year 2014 you’d think we have overcome injustice but instead it is uncovering its true colors and now it’s right here in all of our faces. WHERE’S THE LOVE? Don’t get me wrong, I know all police officers are not heartless and behave in that manner. I also know that all white people are not racist. So to all of you, thank you for daring to be different. We need and appreciate your support, continue to stick by us as we all declare change now! To our President Barack Obama, our Leadership, Celebrities, Media, Athletes, Journalist, and our Nation WE NEED YOU TO STAND UP AND MAKE A DIFFERENCE NOW! To all the family members who had to face these awful encounters with the police; I pray for change and justice. You all are continually in my prayers for strength and guidance. #Justice for Eric Garner (I can’t breathe – Staten Island, NY), Justice for Mike Brown (Hands Raised Unarmed – Ferguson, MI), Brian Dennison & His 6 year old daughter (Jacksonville, FL), David Yearby (Brutally Beaten – Middlesex County, NJ) and Trayvon Martin (Wearing a Hoodie – Sanford, FL) and a countless amount of others not documented worldwide. - Shyne Hunter

Enough is enough--these killings must stop. We must end the systems of white supremacy, police brutality and inequality for communities of color that lead to these police killings. We hope that with renewed attention on this issue, we can widen the conversation to address both justice for Mike Brown & Eric Garner and the underlying systems of oppression that play out against people of color on a day-to-day basis.
