Assignment #1: You’re Cameraless Image Review: Week 3 – February 16

You’re cameraless. So, this assignment is basically as it sounds –an image without a camera. It doesn’t mean it didn’t have to originate from a camera, but simply that YOU did not take it. The main focus is to have you consider the parameters of what an image is along with the wealth of images, information and general stuff already out there. Possibilities include: - Outright appropriation (borrowing) of other material - Using the scanner as a capture device - Traditional Collage - Anything that might conjure up an image (such as language) Think about: - Finding sources in unexpected places. - Satisfying a want to “take” images with some other device such as a scanner - The significance of the material you gather - what your criteria for an “image” is - other devices that might produce and image

Criteria: 3 to 6 individual images or 1 large image with 3 to 6 images as its source If you use a scanner, USE a sheet of GLASS ON THE SCANNER (checkout from cage)
