You can’t talk about lifestyle without reflecting on your home. Your home creates an atmosphere around you. It is a way to present yourself and your style to the world. It is the place you retreat to after a crappy day at work or collapse into after a wild night out, and it can be the place you melt into when you return from a long trip. Your home is your oasis, escape, and comfort zone. Your home also conveys a lot of information about you. It can express to the world your likes, habits, patterns, obsessions, flaws, and curiosities. I have friends whose homes capture their personalities perfectly. Curiously, some of my friends’ homes evoke the exact same feelings I experience when I am with the owner. There’s an inescapable connection between home and owner. A good decorator will hone in on aspects of the owner's personality and that personality will convey though the style of furnishings, color selections and accessories used in the home.
No matter if speaking of a home or apartment, my advice is to find items that make your dwelling your own. There is great joy to be had in “pride of place”. Seek furnishings that you really like and hold them in the same regard as you would famous art or precious jewels. Furnishing a home can be prohibitive because of cost, but consider ways you can acquire items that are less expensive, yet still interesting. I have friends who shop for furniture at yard sales, hotel salvage lots, estate liquidations, and even roadside flea markets. It is the presentation that can make an item unique and interesting. Quality over quantity can go a long way in interior decorating. I’ve been doing some furniture shopping for my next home, and I have found the retail furniture experience to be a bit tedious and a little uninspiring. I find the big box stores pedestrian. I feel all stores are filled with essentially the same inventory of oversized and unimaginative furnishings. Admittedly, boutique stores certainly have variety, but I have yet to find items that appeal to my aesthetic at a price point that doesn’t make me recoil. I can understand why people enlist the services of an Interior Decorator to help them. Page 10
Local Interior Designer, Raquel Frankenberg, offered this advice: “Your home should be a reflection of who you are. Know in advance what your expectations are of your finished look. Once you have a rough idea of what you expect, begin shopping. If your budget is limited, take an existing piece of furniture, especially if it is of high quality, and repurpose it. You’d be surprised at how amazing or different a piece can look by simply repainting it or changing hardware. Also, be bold but know there is a fine line between daring and gaudy, so test colors before painting an entire piece. Modify inexpensive pieces. Surprisingly, often the finished piece will look quite chic and even considerably more expensive. Think outside the box! For example, who said a table can’t be used as a nightstand or that some old doors that you found at a flea market can’t be turned into a headboard? Now do you get the idea? Study your items, then add artwork and accessorize.”
Raquel offers some great insight and advice. Personally, I enjoy mixing multiple styles together to achieve a look that defines me. I get a lot of teasing because of my affinity for animal skin items, but that style is something I quite enjoy. Don’t ever allow someone’s opinion to whittle away at what you hold in high regard. It is about your likes, preferences, and personal flair that enable your home to embody your personality. Make it special and take pride in your unique aesthetic.

SAMS BOAT By: Jason Taylor What can I say but "WOW", and I really do not think that is saying enough about Sams Boat. I had heard many stories about this place where you can go and have a great time sharing stories and drinks with friends and coworkers. Surprisingly non of the tales were about the great food that I had the pleasure of tasting. Though it is a place to have a great drink it is definitely not all about the bar at this establishment. Everything I had was freshly made and tasted exceptional. The first dish on the menu was gumbo. The gumbo was a great way to start off to the meal. It really set the tone for the flavorful feast that was yet to come.
Red Fish
Just as I was getting into this delicious first course, out came two of the servers with an assortment of delightful dishes. The flounder with the Pontchartrain sauce was probably the freshest tasting fish I have had in a very long time. The Pontchartrain sauce tasted like a was sitting in a Bourbon street Restaurant in New Orleans. The fish was coupled with a delectable vegetable dish marinated and cooked in Italian dressing, along with fresh steamed broccoli. Definitely a well paired dish. Next up was the Cajun grilled Redfish, Cajun spiced with a lemon and white wine sauce topped with shrimp and crabmeat. I am not too crazy about lemon flavored anything, but I am sure glad that Rob (General Manager) snuck it in on my tasty seafood adventure. Amazing is simply the best way I can describe this dish. The Red fish must have been caught on the same hook as the flounder because it was equally as fresh. Down right succulent. The fish was paired deliciously with red beans with a twist ( cooked with shiner bock), and green beans that tasted like grandmas.
Crawfish
Last but certainly not least was the incredible crawfish. I was so overwhelmed. The crawfish was boiled just right. I have had them from different places in town, and have never really been absolutely pleased. Sams Boat really knows there way around a mud-bug. I see why as I looked around the restaurant most of the people dining were peeling shucking and sucking at an overwhelming rate. Sams Boat certainly did not disappoint me in any way. Not only does it have great food, they have a very friendly staff and a great family atmosphere. Rob and his staff really know how to treat their customers. Rob will try in every way to accommodate you in every way. It is definitely a spot that parents can bring their kids to and have a great meal and a great drink. It will not break the break the bank either.

Toby Talk www.MySelfScan.com
For immediate action to help get a handle on feelings of depression, anxiety, or struggles, you can try these ideas
by Toby Mautz
I spend the majority of my personal and professional time on issues relating to “self”. Depression is a disease that has impacted millions of individuals. Experts in the fields of science, medicine, and psychology have made great strides in helping people remain engaged, active, and even alive when depression and anxiety take hold of their lives.
There are hundreds of articles about the different methods being used to treat the issues of depression and anxiety. Medication, treatment plans, diet, and exercise have all been addressed. At the end of the day, how and what we do with all this information seems to be the key to the success individuals have with the struggle. I would like to take a look at some important steps relating to “self” that may be beneficial. Let’s take a quick and direct look at specific things people can start to do right this second to begin pushing back against these overwhelming and hugely destructive traits. The concepts relating to MySelfScan™ are based on us as individuals having three parts of ourselves: Mind, body, and emotion. The diagram above allows you to visualize this concept. The key is going to be based on the highways that connect the different parts of the self. By learning how to enhance these connections, one can more effectively work through struggles. This is done by turning one’s self around to find alternative outlets, success points, and ideally push one’s self to advance and move forward in a productive and positive direction. What can we can do intellectually, physically, and emotionally when we or others are entrenched in the full weight of the depression or anxiety? During these times, one is often spinning in negativity. If I were to wake up in the morning feeling depressed in my emotions, I might try to get into my head to figure out why. This would leave me trapped between my mind and emotions building more and more entrenched feelings. Think about it for a minute. If I was depressed because I wasn't connecting socially or with others, I'd go think about why. In this negative mindset I'd likely rationalize or justify the reasons I'd lost connection with friends or loved ones. I'd see the reasons for this and likely dump this negative realization back into my emotions and creating more entrenchment and struggle in my emotions. This could continue for days, weeks, or even years if I stayed trapped between emotion and intellect.
My studies and exploration with depressed clients and friends has revealed what can happen when we react differently and go “physical” during times of depression and anxiety. Just the thought of having another outlet can sometimes be the first step in moving out of the emotional entrenchment. Let’s say I wake up and feel depressed about the lack of connection I have with others. However, this time instead of reinforcing this intellectually, I decide to get out of bed, get a glass a water, have breakfast, and go for a walk. By taking this course of action before the depression has fueled up intellectually, the body is already pushing in another direction. I have accomplished something just by moving. I believe this starts a chain of actions that allows me to push through and shift those current feelings. Focusing again on the Mind-Body-Emotion connection, now my emotions have refocused on my “body” where ideally, I have hydrated, fueled, and moved. From there, my emotions get a positive charge. I have placed myself in a space to intellectually view my feelings in a different way. My positive movement from the morning has now hit my body, which flushed into my mind, and from there I'm able to obtain added clarity. I still may feel depressed and struggling, however, my “self” would have had productive interaction in working and utilizing all aspects of my ”self”. I would not be a bystander waiting for a break in my depression, but would rather be an active participant in working my way through it.
IntellectuallyAlready you've put yourself in success by just making it to this part of the article. Feel good about that. Continue to research and look at ways to learn more about these issues. Read more today than you did yesterday. Realize when you may be entrenched with your thoughts and give yourself a pass to come back to it another time when you’re feeling saturated. Follow your doctors and therapists suggestions to give full opportunity and expertise they are offering you. Watch a movie or listen to a music that inspires you or gets your thoughts popping in a positive manner.
PhysicallyContinue to follow your doctor’s orders and commit to the medication or plan they have put in place. Drink more water today than you did yesterday. Try to balance your diet with three meals and some snacks in-between. Have more physical outlets today than you did yesterday. (stretching, walking, consciously breathing and being aware of your space, anything that allows your body to feel engaged in some way. If you can, go outside. Breathe natural air. If you can't, visualize doing this and allow yourself to remember a time when you were in a natural environment and found success engaging in positive manner.
EmotionallyI've often thought depression and anxiety are the result of what happens when we mis-convert energy. Similar to a wave in the ocean. You have options when a wave is coming at you. Depending on where you are, you can face it and swim towards it and clear it before it breaks. You can time it and swim under the wave and successfully avoid the impact. You can also turn and swim with it and use the energy as a way to propel you toward the future. You also have a choice to do nothing and stand helpless in front of it, feeling the full impact of the power behind this energy. You may survive, but the added damage you face will leave you picking yourself up, getting treatment for your wounds, and wondering why the wave had to “attack” you. One outstanding visual an example of using the wave successfully can be found on youtube by searching for a video called surfing a tsunami. While this is an exaggerated example by one of the world’s best surfers, it represents this point well.
Accept that there are things you can do about this. Face the challenge in front of you and commit to doing something about it. Stagnation leads to more entrenchment- commit to push through and imagine a healthy feeling you'll have when you work through this stagnation. Avoidance-interaction, stagnation-activity, overwhelmed-effective management. Go easy on yourself and give your growth some understanding. Sometimes we judge ourselves more harshly than we would others. Realize you are still growing. That learning to actively get through this current struggle will help you find more success in your future. Remember growth is uncomfortable and by allowing yourself to imagine this, it will become the compost you are able to grow out of more successfully and positively in the future. Page 23

Change Agency Graduation Day: Astrology for March 2015 By Donna Woodwell It's time to take the Change Agency's final exam. Are you ready? The last of a series of seven challenging aspects between two of the slow-moving "planets" in our solar system, Uranus and Pluto, occurs this month. Electric Uranus sparks new insights and innovations that shake up the status quo. Pluto's alchemy works through the transmutation of one thing into another. Together, they've called us all to become Change Agents. These two powerhouses have teamed up since June 2012 to catalyze us to get out of our ruts, and create new ways of being in the world. Many have quit jobs, left of begun relationships, or relocated, all in the search to align our outer world with an inner longing.

Mar. 16, 2015, reflect about shifts in your life over the past few years. Are you closer to manifesting the life you've always wanted? Why or why not? If the answer is "NO!" -- take heart! It's never to late. Astrology is a metaphor for the quality of moments in time; it helps us identify waves of opportunity for success and happiness. Here are just a few of this month's highlights any zodiac sign can use to your advantage. March 3 -- Look out for a flash of insight that can move you forward as sage Jupiter harmonizes with innovative Uranus. Their meeting happens once every six years, heralding new breakthroughs in all fields. March 5 -- Where's your plan? A Full Moon in Virgo will get you fired up to accomplish your goals -- roll up your sleeves and tackle the hard stuff first. March 11 -- If you need an explosive charge to shake up the status quo, choose today. Fiery Mars adds force and energy to the Uranus-Pluto duet. You may also find people edgy or angrier than usual, or more prone to accidents. Use with caution. March 14 -- For good or ill, folks will stand their ground and refuse to compromise as seriousminded Saturn stations retrograde. Great if you need the force of your convictions to get you through; difficult if you are trying to sway someone to your point of view. March 20 -- The party 's over.
