Chamber to crown new top business Thursday
T
hough there are many worthy contenders, only one Austin area business can lay claim to the city’s annual Business of the Year award. Twelve local businesses will be recognized Thursday, Feb. 23, at the annual Chamber of Commerce meeting and Awards Banquet. Several businesses will be noted for their contributions to the
community throughout last year, as well. The banquet was the largest gathering of business members last year as more than 300 business people attended. The law firm of Hoversten, Johnson, Beckmann and Hovey, LLP walked away as the 2010 Business of the Year. The Austin Bruins clawed their way to last year’s New Business of the Year award, while McDonald’s
and Courtesy Corporation was recognized for the construction and revitalization of the Oakland Avenue McDonald’s site. The annual banquet will take place starting at 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the Holiday Inn inside the Austin Conference Center.
