Maury Elementary School TIMELINE: CA and some CDs TASKS: Managed RFI & Submittal log, created / adjusted graphics, responsible for signage sheets, and provided Revit assistance throughout. SUMMARY: Maury Elementary school is a cornerstone modernization project for Washington D.C.’s Capitol Hill neighborhood. Physically, the design creatively maintains the existing, historic 1880s four-square classroom building and integrates an addition as compactly as possible on the tight, urban site. A glass-edged discovery commons seamlessly connects the historic with the new to celebrate the original historic facade while amplifying transparency and indoor-outdoor connections. The school’s mission is to offer a nurturing environment to its community of involved learners, fostering creativity, cultivating curiosity, and forming lasting connections to develop self-empowered citizens. The re-imagined school promotes and elevates this mission. Design principles that contributed to the newly-opened school include embodying core values of both the school and neighborhood community. Maximizing open space for play and community use and creating a unique sense of place that inspires, attracts, and sparks children’s love of learning.

Red Deer Justice Center TIMELINE: SD - CDs TASKS: Modeled schematic masses in Sketch-up, Rhino, and Revit during SD phase. Created and provided graphics. DD through CDs I was responsible for all enlarged courtroom floor plans / rcps / interior elevations, and prisoner holding cell floor plan / rcp. SUMMARY: New 300,00 sf and $97 million new justice complex will replace the existing courthouse. It will have 12 courtrooms, with the capacity to increase it up to 16 in the future. It will also include a resolution services wing, which will provide dispute resolution, civil and family mediation, arbitration and other alternatives to court. As the design architects on the project, DLR Group worked with the architect of record Group 2 (a firm based in Canada) throughout the process.

Whittle School & Studios Global Headquarters TIMELINE: SD - CDs TASKS: Managed Revit model, assisted with material selection, assisted with set, and created visuals as needed. SUMMARY: This HQ provides a home-base for the organizations 17 leadership functions and related team members. Some of the staff is located in NYC, some in other locales. Many of the positions are travelling positions and do not require a permanent fixed location. In terms of design, the HQ office is representative of a Whittle School & Studios interior environment and conveys a similar experience as one might have at a Whittle School & Studios Campus. In terms of materials, wood and metals are used as materials made modern for their craft and beauty. Natural textiles like leather and wool create a harmonious, soft sense of domesticity - while mastery, craft and sustainability emphasize the value of comfort and elegance in a global workshop experience.

Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre TIMELINE: SD TASKS: Managed Revit / Rhino model, created presentation graphics, and developed 3D Enscape visuals. SUMMARY: DLR Group was tasked with retrofitting a 35,000 sf space to accommodate a courtroom that could house the Qatar International Court system. The design is highlighted by its circular layout and the curving geometric islamic window film pattern.

New Albany Amphitheater TIMELINE: SD - CDs TASKS: Managed Revit model, assisted with presentation graphics, and responsible for the following sheets; floor plan, code plan, door-frame schedule, interior elevations, and exterior elevations. SUMMARY: This $5.5 million venue accommodates 800 patrons. The facility is optimally situated in close proximity to the academic campus, main shopping/dining district, and recently renovated Rose Run Park corridor. The stage canopy serves as the iconic element, anchoring the venue and constructed of heavy laminated wood arches. The stage uses a glulam structure with high-performance translucent manufactured fabric on the exterior, enabling the building to change its appearance and transparency from day to night. The proscenium opening is approximately 50 feet. Support structures, such as a back-ofhouse building with dressing rooms, restrooms, and storage, are architecturally subservient and covered in vegetation. The venue offers various seating opportunities and experiences, including lawn seating, catered VIP tables, high-top seating within the arbor, and intimate party patios flanking the stage.
