District 1A Governor Pat Duda’s ------------------------------------------------------Monthly e-Newsletter -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------AUGUST, 2017 ----------------------------------------------------One word with only two letters – WE which makes a huge difference in our day to day work and life. This year’s International President Dr. Naresh Aggarwal asks all the lions of the world to concentrate on these two letters – WE!

communicate. Send my monthly newsletter, the monthly State e-Magazine to all club members and encourage them to read them. Well informed members will be an asset to our clubs as knowedge helps us to work together as WE, joining hands to make it happen. -Pat Duda, District 1A Governor DISTRICT 1A CABINET:

Our lions motto is – WE SERVE; which starts with the same two letters – WE. As we all know, if we want to be succeed in our life, if we want to make our projects successful, we need the POWER OF WE. We the Lions in the World accomplished great goals and achievements with the power of WE. We made a huge difference in this beautiful world by helping the needy and less fortunate in our communities. We can do great things if we all come together as WE and work harder to reach our goals to complete our missions of "We Serve.' For this Lionistic Year I have set a couple of reachable goals – I would like to see two new clubs chartered by the end of May, 2018 and I also would like to see +2 members in all of our existing 75 clubs. As I said earlier, if we come together as WE, this is not impossible; I am pretty sure that WE can do it and I can reach my goals with flying colors. Club secretaries, please invite your Zone and Region Chairperson to your club meetings so that they can brief your club on what is going on in our District. It is very important to Governor Pat Duda’s Monthly Newsletter

Lions, I thought I would share this information with you regarding the Flooding which occurred in the past couple of weeks. My clubs service committee wanted to offer some assistance to our Lions in the Flood affected areas, which happened to take place in District 1-F which is north of us. After some investigation, I was able to find out that District 1-F did receive a 10K emergency grant to help the flood victims in this area. I also was able to speak with Governor Alan Barack from District 1-F and ALERT Chairman PDG Larry Spaeth to find out how we can help. I was advised that they need Lions today and tomorrow at 965 Rollins Road, Round Lake, IL to man tables at the Resource Center to help the flood victims

with paperwork and identify whatever else they need. Sorry for the late notice on this I just received this information last night. If you are interested please call Governor Alan Barack at 815-575-6160 or PDG Larry Spaeth 630-202-2965 to sign up to help. Additionally, if you or your club are interested in making a monetary donation, please write checks to District 1-F and mail to Governor Alan Barack at the following address. Governor Alan Barack District 1-F – PO Box 1244 McHenry, Il 60051 PDG Larry Spaeth ALERT Chairman 630-202-2965 Have a great Summer! -Lion Gail Anton,
