I am counting my days and I still have four months to work as the governor of this great district. I love what I am doing and I am very thankful to all the lions invited me for their club events, governor’s visits, etc., etc.
Message from Governor Pat Duda: Lions and Leos of District 1A: Our District had two great events last month – first one Club Officers’ Round Table Discussions and the second one Annual District 1A Bowling. Both events were well attended and my sincere thank you all the lions who were there to make it happen.
This month we will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day and I wish all Irish Lions in District 1A a festive time with green beer and corned beef and cabbage. Many of our clubs are having events to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Some clubs are participating St. Patrick’s Day Parade in their communities. Let us be more active and show ourselves to the public so that they know there is a lions club to serve the community. As we get more publicity, it is better exposure for lionism. When we talk about lions, nobody should point out to any nearby zoo.
We discussed on GAT, GLT, GMT and GST all District Chairs gave a wonderful presentation and it well responded by participants’ questions. I feel very strongly that we have opportunities in Lionism to learn and grow with more knowledge.

Now, as I discussed in my February Newsletter, we are ready to roar and celebrate our District 1A Convention. I am very sure that many lions from our district sent their reservation forms to attend this monumental convention of this year. We will be going back to twenties and bring that old glory back to our convention. Isn’t it nice to see all attendees of this convention take part with their choice of costumes? Lion Austin will be busy taking pictures of yours to place on Facebook and set some live streaming videos on Facebook to show the world how best we are in celebrating our District Convention. 1

We have an opportunity this year for Clubs to sponsor our T-Shirts, Backpacks and water bottles. Each of these items are very essential to each camper. We have also added an additional “drone camp” for the week of July 1st (details will follow). Is there a club in your district that you think would be interested in sponsoring one or all three pieces and having their club name printed on all 275 items. • The backpacks can hold their sunscreen, towels, hearing aid essentials, eyeglasses. It is approximately ½ a mile that a camper needs to walk to participate in swimming, dining, and various activities. The small zipper pouch can hold smaller items so they do not get lost. • The water bottle will keep them hydrated and also can be stored in their backpack. • Camp Lions T-shirt is a tradition that the campers look forward to each year wear proudly, price includes counselor’s shirts. Right now, we are looking to have one club sponsor each or all item(s). WATER BOTTLES: $500 for 275 Water Bottles. Bottles are yellow with purple tops and are printed on both sides our logo in black on one side and the club name on the other side. BACKPACKS: $1,050 for 275 BACKPACKS. Backpacks are nylon with reinforced corners and a zipper pouch to hold hearing aid devices, glasses and smaller items. Our logo printed in black and sponsor name under the logo.
