Lift the Lid on Mental Illness October 10, 2020 Lift the Lid on Mental Illness is Australian Rotary Health’s national fundraising campaign to raise money for mental health research. 100% of proceeds go to funding research into helping those affected by depression, anxiety, schizophrenia and many other illnesses.
On World Mental Health Day in October 2019, a number of businesses, individuals, and Rotary Clubs got involved in Lift the Lid around Australia. They did this by hosting Hat Day events, collecting donations at train stations and local cafes, and setting up awareness tables at Bunnings Warehouse stores.

Rural medical facilities face a number of challenges including staff shortages, lack of funding and large geographical service areas. Since 2007, Australian Rotary Health has run a Rural Medical Scholarship program.
Medical students are funded by a sponsoring Rotary Club or private donor to undertake a year-long rural placement and experience what these facilities have to offer. Rural Scholarships provide students with an opportunity to pursue a career in ruralAustralia when they graduate.
