SECRET EXPOSED; I AM FREE! By: Michelle Coe

Being quite a reserved individual, I prefer to keep my private matters just that way, private. For the greatest span of my life the decision had been made to keep the most intimate details of my life internally confined. This choice was made for several reasons; however, at the root of them all was fear! There I was allowing fear to function when on the contrary power, love and a sound mind was my portion. In ministry I had been quite transparent in the sharing of my life experiences; there were however, some things that I had not yet been free to release. Certain details of my testimony had been shared with individuals, as the LORD led, but GOD was requiring more and to be honest I did not want to render what was being asked of me. Often, I would be found dancing around my testimony with the goal of not releasing too much, especially to the wrong person. The wrong person was considered to be anyone who might have had a connection with my family giving them the ability to share with them that which I withheld. So here I was at the brink of moving forward in ministry still bound to this secret. I was now faced with the choice as to whether I would move forward in obedience, or cowardly refuse to advance. Having personally taught about disobedience, I understood we as Kingdom cannot afford to operate in it as scripture teaches us, rebellion is as unto witchcraft. Often the echos of our excuses scream loudly to deter us from hearing what we know to be truth, but we must enforce our proper authority to override those screams. When we walk in the revelation that as Kingdom citizens we hold not only the ability of choice to no longer allow anxiety to hinder us, we come to the realization that we have dominion over it! I made the decision to exercise my authority to leap over fear to unveil that which I had kept hidden for most of my life.

You see, like many others, I had been molested by a family member as a young child and had never shared this information with my family. More importantly, it had never shared with my parents. Although extensive, my testimony of healing certainly included this factor, making it impossible for it not to be included as well as impossible for it to remain hidden! Literally, days before launching my ministry this information was shared with my parents, enabling me to share it with others. While I admit this task was challenging, it was worth it! Now that my secret has been revealed it has become an instrument of healing for others and that alone makes the reveal necessary.

We often become so consumed with thoughts of how sharing our testimony will affect us that we neglect to consider how it will impact Kingdom! I did exactly that, but I decided to adjust my view to that of the FATHER'S. By doing so, I am able to walk selflessly so that as I have been healed, others too may discover they have been afforded access to the same deliverance! Do you have a secret that the enemy has convinced you that if released it would be detrimental to your life? Has he filled your thoughts with the idea others will scorn or reject you? Maybe he has lied and influenced you to believe too much time has passed so there is no use in revealing that which has long elapsed. Whatever the emeny has led you to accept as truth, know you have been given false information and his taunting is an attempt to halter your healing process as well as the greater purpose to be found in your freedom!

The great news is you are not obligated to receive his lies! Whatever secret you have been holding for whatever reason, I exhort you to expose it so that you can walk in healing and restoration! Not only does your destiny depend on you doing so, but also the destiny of those to whom you have been assigned are waiting. Refuse to permit concealed matters to stifle you; instead expose them to destroy the enemy's agenda! Just in case you were wondering, my family is proud of my decision to come forward and are my greatest supporters! If by chance they had felt otherwise there are a host of others who celebrate me doing so, especially those whom have benefited from my candidness! Trust the FATHER to do the same for you! Remember, everything the enemy meant for evil shall be turned for your good and transparency heals!

In the Midst By: Cindy Reed For many in the midst of despair, nothing going the way we want it to in our lives – we sometimes wonder where God is. Our prayers that our situations change seem to go unanswered and the blessings we ask for never seems to arrive. It's during these difficult times in our lives that God wants us to hold on to our faith. We pray for a word or a sign from God. Some ask the Father if He’s forsaken them because their storm is more than they can bear. I’m here to tell you that no matter what the enemy wants you to feel and believe – trust in the Father that He will never forsake you and that He hears your prayers. During your quiet times, you must listen for the voice of the Lord. You must remain faithful to Him. Pay attention because God may send you a sign but if you’re having doubts about the power of the Almighty – you may miss seeing the sign(s) that God has sent you. We’ve all faced obstacles in our lives; we pray for deliverance and we want our situations changed immediately but that’s not how God works. God changes our circumstances in His time, not ours. We must learn not to rush the blessing and learn to endure while we face our trials and tribulations. God never leaves us with no recourse. He’ll place people in our lives to help us endure. We need to see all interventions as the blessings they are. A conversation with a friend might help lift your spirits or even provide some resolution, enough to keep you moving forward while waiting on God’s promises. Look at these interventions as stepping stones on your journey. Stepping stones turned into milestones as you proceed forward with your faith, knowing that God’s got you. Move forward knowing that you stand on His word, His promises, and by remaining humble, His blessings will shower down upon you and your situation will be turned around.

MASK OFF! BY: TELICIA VOLTER Internal conversations. They can be TOUGH, especially when I am asking myself the RIGHT questions. The right questions for me, are the ones that make me want to tell myself to be quiet and leave me alone. The right question is the question that pierces the layered “protection” I shielded myself with. Along with every hurt, disappointment, embarrassment, cruel remark, imposed expectation, dismissal, and mistreatment, that layer grew thicker and thicker. I masked myself, and ultimately became a woman who was afraid of being who I was called to be. “If you are representing the lie (masked self), then what type of life have YOU created for yourself? Since you are actively walking in false pretense, then is it safe and accurate to say, you are not living the life God created for you? Do you prefer a life of insufficiency, versus a life of abundant proportions? How does a masked woman stand in right relationship with God, herself, or anyone for that matter?” Oh, I got sick of me really quick! But I couldn’t shake this internal interrogation! The truth of the matter is a masked woman, is a guarded woman. A masked woman is a timid woman. A masked woman is a fearful woman. A masked woman is not walking in or speaking truth. Masked and mute is not cute for the kingdom! I told myself that this is not the way I want to represent God. This is not the relationship I want with God. This just won’t do! As long as I allowed the enemy to keep me in this sunken place, I would never, and could never rise up. More truth? A masked woman’s heart is not right, and if her heart is not right, her spirit is not right. My heart was not right. It was broken, and the only thing that was holding it together was the layered “protection”.

13 I AUTHENTICALLY YOU MAGAZINE

Even more truth? A masked woman’s MIND is not right. Their voice takes the place of His voice. Their will for your life takes the place of His will for your life. For me, I got so tired of the gaping hole in my soul, I got so weary living the way they considered right and acceptable. The internal conversations became frequent, and honestly, still happen now. I have pulled that mask off, and things have definitely changed for the better. No more dead harvests! No more dead relationships! No more! I am walking in the truth…for real this time! Even with wobbly legs, and with a slower stride sometimes, I walk on!! Of course, The enemy is not happy, but the gloves are on. This fight is worth fighting! Victory is mine and yours!! No more fighting for the lie! Now, I fight for my life! Not the life THEY want for me, but the life HE predestined for me. It’s worth it! Lord thank You, Thank You for fighting for us even when we are fighting against You! Thank You for keeping Your Hand on us even when we are in a dead place. Thank Your or more chances than we deserve. Thank You for a love like no other. Endow us with increased power to not only unmask, but to stay unmasked, and walk in Your complete truth. It’s an honor to be in true relationship with You

Christina is also a contributing author in Reflections on Purpose and Brilliant Awakening and Preparing Your Child for College Workbook. Christina’s guiding life principle is to be the person she needed when she was growing up to someone else.

1.T ell us a little bit more about yourself. Christina is really just a woman who knows education saved my life and wants to use the lessons I learned along the path to try to save someone else. I love working with young ladies, really youth in general and advocating for their education. I wear many hats- educator, attorney, municipal judge, speaker, nonprofit leader - all byproducts of my educational journey that each allow me to further my passion for advocating for youth. 2. What inspires you to do all that you do? The girls I work with inspire me to be and do more. I see their faces. I listen to their stories. I know they are all me, so they inspire me to be great so they can see they can be great too. They depend on me and I can not let them down.

3. Share with us more on the books you have authored. Developing DIVAs - Wrote Developing DIVAs (young ladies divinely investigating vision in advance) back in 2008 with my daughter, Deja. We wanted to share with other preteens how to love themselves while figuring out what they are are passionate about in life

. Reflections on Purpose - After my divorce in 2013, I went into a cave season. I shut myself off. I felt like a failure and hurt deeply. When presented with the opportunity to participate in the Reflections on Purpose Anthology I procrastinated. I was scared but I knew I needed to share my story to bless others so I did. It was such a blessing to be able to be a blessing. Many women have reached out and shared how my chapter has helped them process their pain into purpose. The Brilliant Awakening - This group of women were divinely connected for The Brilliant Awakening book and purpose. To be apart of the stories shared in this anthology of healing and strength personified gave me a new breath of fresh air. I built relationships with my co-authors that will be lifelong friendships. The Brilliant Awakening was an outward showing of my healing to myself. The pain that caused me to retreat before Reflections was published had been replaced with a sense of personal renewal and self discovery. The Brilliant Awakening aided in that journey. Preparing Your Child for College - For years I helped parents prepare students for college but in 2016 it was my turn. Leading my daughter through the college admission process gave me new insight I just could not keep to myself. I must share it, so I did in Preparing Your Child for College. It is a must have for parents who want to help their child get into college with the maximum amount of financial aid. I am so grateful my daughter received over $830K in scholarship offers in awards while only applying to 6 schools.

5. What are your goals for the rest of the year? It is my goal to spend the my summer off from the classroom as a summer on speaking around the country sharing with parents and communities about how to prepare students for college starting in middle school. I also want to continue to keynote a few conferences per month. 6. Have you ever been masked or felt hidden or living below your purpose? If so, how did you overcome that? I spent several years "hidden." I did not understand why. It seemed like every thing I put my hands to would do okay but not succeed to the level I expected. I admit I was discouraged and at times wondered if I really was walking in the purpose I felt so strongly I am called to do. Time brings about maturity. And as time went on I began to see that it really was not hidden time. I experience life and all the ups and downs life had for me in that season. It felt like an Oklahoma Spring - high 80s with sunshine one moment and violent, deadly tornadoes the next leaving me to pick up the pieces. All the ups and downs matured me, prepared me, and grew me. To lead a generation of parents dedicated to seeing their children succeed in their educational pursuits while being a role model for some dynamic young ladies, I had to experience some things that will be able to help those I help. I firmly believe EVERYTHING I had experienced is not just for me but to be shared with others. That is why I share like I do. Overcoming my hidden time was not easy. It took cultivating a greater relationship with God, an excellent therapist, and tons so self reflection time. Ultimately, knowing I have some many young ladies depending on me to succeed forced me to come out of hiding. 7. Do you have any upcoming events? Look for my newest book outlining things I wish someone would have told me about being a mom coming this winter. I am also available to work individually with families to assist in mapping out a plan for your child's educational success or for your next conference/workshop.

5. Was there ever a time you felt masked or hidden? If so, how did you overcome that? Yes I felt hidden before I stepped out on faith into this amazing life I’m now living. For years I lived my life in autopilot allowing my days to create my life. I wore the mask of joy and contentment living a life I had no true say so in. I was lost in the world I had created by not being engaged or proactive in my day to day decisions. My lack of involvement led to depression and confusion. I came out of that place into complete clarity by trusting that God had a plan for me and stepping into it wholeheartedly. Once I did that what once hid me now exposed me and the mask vanished I am now free to be my true authentic self. 6.What do you hope to accomplish through your businesses, books, and coaching? What I want to accomplish is simple, I want to create a community of compassion through my non profit departing Depression, through my business Happy Soul Habits I want to reintroduce people to their happiness and with my coaching help individuals through the process and transition from departing depression to happy soul habits 6. What are your goals for the rest of 2018? My goal is to travel throughout the United States creating discussion on depression and providing workshops on how to nourish your happiness

She is the Founder/CEO of the Women’s Small Business Initiative (WSBI), LLC, a free online platform educating women about small business development. She also hosts a weekly iHeart Radio podcast “Your Resource for Success”. Kimberly authored two books: How to Be a Success by Just Being You, and Memoir Deception of the Heart: A Real Look into Domestic Violence. Her book signing tour, “Love Should Not Hurt”, launches this fall. Kimberly hails from Davenport, Iowa, where she owned several businesses and received numerous recognitions, including a highlight in the Quad City Business Journal for Young Professionals Under 40 years Old. She has over 10 years’ experience as a small business owner and 25 years’ experience in both the private and public sectors. Kimberly holds a BA in Organizational Management. Kimberly currently resides in Alexandria, Virginia. 2. What motivates you to do all that you do? I come from a background of business ownership/entrepreneurship, where my father has been in business for 50 years. So having something of my own has been embedded into me since I could remember. But what motivates me is my desire to want to help others succeed in living their dreams. 3. As an Entrepreneur that wears different hats, what has been your greatest reward and biggest challenge? While I have made several accomplishments, my greatest reward was my first public Book Reading, Signing, and Networking Event in March 2018. Being able to share my story though tragic provided the opportunity to consistently expose the dangers of Domestic Violence and how it affects the individual, their families, friends, and co-workers. I also was able to provide much-needed nourishment to the soul of the women there by allowing them to be themselves but teaching them that they deserved much better. The most unique part about my business is the different platforms I provide for Women in Business. My podcast show “Your Resource for Success Podcast Program” provides women a 20-30 minute interview to share their stories about their experience, challenges and successes while being in business. This show runs weekly on iHeart Radio which is an online nationwide radio service for listeners. I also have a membership program which provides a unique online platform designed to be a one-stop-shop pool of resources that will showcase businesses, unite, consult, provide mentorship, and networking for members nationwide and internationally. These opportunities are currently “free” to any women owned business but have not been without challenges.

4. Tell us more about your recent books, and your upcoming book tour? I am the author of the Memoir “Deception of the Heart” A Real Look into Domestic Violence and “How to Be a Success by Just Being You.” In my most recent book Memoir “Deception of the Heart” A Real Look into Domestic Violence, I tell my revealing story of Domestic Violence to private groups and organizations teaching and empowering women on how to be their own hero and not just the survivor. I completed two Book Reading, Signing & Networking events back in March and preparing for a Seven City “Love Should Not Hurt” Book Tour in the fall of 2018 and limited copies of the book will be given away during the tour to a chosen Domestic Shelter or Program. Was there ever a time you felt masked or living below your purpose? If so, how did you overcome that? I have absolutely spent many days feeling masked and not able to live my full potential during and after the domestic abuse. Because when you are continuously living in bondage within your own mind you have a tendency to feel you are unable or not capable of believing your worth. But the way I overcame my bondage was through faith, knowledge, and understanding of self, gaining control and giving myself permission to stop being just a survivor and become my own hero to start living the life I deserved. What do you hope to accomplish through your businesses and books? My goals have been to teach others to “Dare to be Fearless.” Everything about my business and books shows you how to prepare yourself for success and live your dreams to the fullest but doing it all in your own terms, and not what is expected through societies views or ways. 7. Do you have any upcoming events? I have a lot going on these days. When I finally came to a place of loving me believe in me and knowing am wonderful just as I am All things became possible for me through Christ.

The purpose of this book is to help promote reading and confidence in a fun way. When children open their books for the very first time, rather than trying to interpret what all the words mean, they will be able to shift their attention and focus on words that they may not know. The children will know at least half of the words, so focusing on the other half will help strengthen the children's understanding of the text and their words.
